Today we are going to test out the DJI Pocket 3 and Sony ZV-E10.
Since the Pocket 3 is on a gimbal ! We have to equip our zv-e01 with a gimbal too for a fair comparison !

Nice comparison. Don’t forget the hassle and time to setup and balance the crane M3 gimbal. I almost never use it anymore. Pocket 3 is super easy.
yeah, never again want to config a gimbal again, that's really for someone who make money from all the footage... for traveller? nope
Zony ZVe10 body only + gimble+ wide angle lens= 599+ 249+459=1307 dollars + heavyweight
Dji op3 = 599 dollars
Dji op3 creator combo (dji mic + extra battery + wide lens) = just 669 dollars
Conclusion= Although Sony was better in quality but there was not much difference.If you keep in mind the price and portability then definitely DJI will be better.

I got ZV-E10 recently, and now i regretted. For traveling content, i prefer small and compact size camera, ZV-E10 is pretty compact, and have great video/image quality for the price range. But one biggest down side for me is the stabilization, even shot on active mode the footage still super shaky. Yes you can use Sony Catalyst Browse software, but time consuming and loss video quality. Camera with gimbal will became heavy and not compact anymore. Personally i prefer DJI pocket 3 over camera for traveling content, much lighter and smaller size, and still come with built in gimbal.
thanks y.c9888. For travelling content, the osmo pocket really dominates, it is overall cheaper than the ZV-E10 package. I was frustated by Catalyst Browse until recently , I started using the Gyro Flow which free,faster, no softening quality and we can do batch stabilize. You can try it. But we have to load the lens profile for each footage

For over 99% of the users, it's no brainer to pick DJI pocket 3, why ordinary users would want to spend thousands dollars more for a little better pictures not noticable or don't care about.
For Vlogging just choose the DJI pocket 3 👍 To enjoy being a hybrid shooter - potrait/landscape/product photo or video get the ZV-E10 📸
Thousands of dollars for that gimbal and the Sony? Maybe 1200 bucks.
Quality better on Sony but you might able to compensate with some filters on pocket.
Maybe, but it does seem to have that cell phone look, a little over sharpened and the color science is a little off.@@mikeg3810
The E10 does have more of the 3D pop and overall better IQ from the f/1.4 aperture lens and larger sensor. But the price and convenience of the OP3 makes a winner for me.
I have both cameras and my zve10 is now sleeping the time i bou3the op3 came out. The versatility of the op3 is a must for me..
Yes sir, it is so small and easy to carry! The value it bring is insane. And the cost is lower than zv-e10 !

The Sony has obviously the better look and color profile but I hate to be so loud on the street so would rather trade off the 20% loss in quality for the discreet-ness offered by the DJI
The DJI pocket is not that bad at all but I like the footage of the Sony. I wonder how the DJI performs in low light scenario.
Yes, the DJI small sensor is doing really well. Sure I am going to do a low-light comparisons video soon !

It won't even be close in a low light situation.
Crane m3 gimbal makes some time huge issue, by automatically turning on sleep mode while using it, overall I prefer poket 3.
Nice test, dji is lighter and decent enough image quality. Quite reasonable considering its not using ND filters yet.
Yeah,it is cheaper than ZV-E10 and perform so so well. Noticeable downside is the photo only have 12 MP. But let’s see in future maybe Sony ZV-E10 mark II will be better ?
Artifacts on the Osmo when moving.. Fake bokeh has a digital look.. But still fun to have the Osmo
I have both of these cameras. I think the ZV-E10 has *slightly* better image quality, but the Pocket 3 is far more convenient and quicker to get up and running, and that more than makes up for the slight difference in quality.
That was a shocker, I got B as the Pocket. Have the Combo on order and have partly financed the Grandson who needed the Sony camera for his college work, wonder what he will think of this test
Indeed ! DJI pocket 3 performs accordance to the hype. Sony camera is still good for hybrid work - photography at 24 MP+ and tighter focal length, but it costs more.

Don’t forget the price difference! for the Sony setup it’s (the camera itself + gimbal+Viltrox lenses) arguably twice more than DJI.
It looks like using 1080p on ZV-E10, because your face is blurry a bit in first minute.
When you lower the f-stop on the Sony there's just no competition. But if you just want to vlog then the DJI is good enough of course
Have you tried streaming with pocket 3? im torn between zv-e10 and pocket for homestudio streaming. apparently there is some kind of stuttering in pocket 3 webcam mode? would love to see side by side comparisons for rtmp + webcam mode with zv-e10 and cant find any content like that on youtube

Great comparison video. I just purchased DJI Osmo pocket 3 to capture sleek shots off the fly. It's my "first" actual camera/gimbal, and I'm loving it so far.
Nice comparison! For still photos I use my Canon EOS R. For video I usually use my Sony FDR-AX100. I just bought the DJI Pocket 3. I love how small the pocket 3 is and look forward to using it on my upcoming Caribbean cruise!
Would you recommend fdr ax100 or Sony zve10 for video?
It's shocking how a minuscule camera with a 1" can compete with cameras that are 1500, 2000 or 3000$ and have much much bigger sensor. The video quality of the pocket 3 is incredible and doesn't look like 1" sensor at all. Every time I see a comparison of the pocket 3 vs a much more expensive camera and a much betetr camera on paper, I either prefer the videos of the pocket 3 or at worst I'm like "omg this is close and it's 1/3 of the price and so compact".
A pocket 4 with a real zoom (even just a 3x) would be insane, and even more insane if they could fit a micro 4/3 or APS-C sensor in a slightly bigger camera (still with gimbal). Even the size of a comapct camera but with the bimbal and all these specs from the pocket 3 it would destroy any competition for all type of work. You can even get very cinematic videos with the pocket 3 the type I wouldn't be shocked to see in movies (i've seen worst looking movies filmed on thousands and thousands of $ per camera than what the pocket 3 offers)
Bruh why can't we change the aperture on the osmo?? Will it be able to change that after a software update? And How to get that Bokeh effect on the osmo
We cannot change the aperture, because there wasn't a setting or menu within Osmo Pocket 3. So F2.0 is the only choice and it already is the maximum bokeh effect on the osmo, so we couldn't get more blurry background with the osmo

DJI is half the price, weighs much less and does everything you need. Its the obvious choice

For me, i think ill choose the sony zv-1 because it's smaller and also i can learn a lot more from it, since its an actual camera. Dji is also a Chinese brand and they have some controversy with Uyghers, so i dont know how ethical they are. Sony is a lot more ethical.
I don't like holding a big and heavy device for long periods of time without much difference in quality. I choose small but martial
me too, i dislike heavy setup. I always try to go for smaller setup. I use big lens and camera only for freelance work

Great comparison. I want to take mirror less camera nikon z30 with 16-15mm lens for indoor shooting vids. But i thought what if after some time if i start vlogging vids then nikon camera does not have good stabilisation and it will be some what weight on hands to hold a camera. And have to again purchase gimbal of extra weight. 😢😢
So now am thinking to take DJI pocket 3 or action 4. For indoor or outdoor video shooting. What would u recommend. Pls answer.
Out of these two DJI osmo pocket 3 n action 4 which would be best cam for indoors n outdoors. In indoors I do provide good light setup for sure. Pls ans . Thanks for video 😊

I like the comparison, but the angles are different in the initial test - this changes the lighting conditions it appears.
What is the lens on zve10 pro?

We have the ZV-E10 for our channel. And we are curious to know, did you film the ZV-E10 speed ramp shots around 1:54 in 4K 25fps? Or did you record those shots in 1080p 120fps?

on 1:54, I did film them both on 4K 25 fps, I still have the source clip. It does appears to be not sharp as always on ZV-E10 as I was shooting at PP7 - slog2 which at default has its setting of detail reduced by -7.

@@wilfredoyvanessa alright, for 4k 25fps，i was filming and performing the ninja walk with a gimbal. So when i speed ramp the 25fps footages, there is little to no jerky motion, then I can speed ramp the footage from 100% to 450%+ and slowdown back to 100% smoothly
That is quite interesting. Thanks for sharing it. Just learned something new. I always thought the videos had to be recorded in higher frames (ex: 60, 100, 120fps, etc) to be able to preserve the quality of the footage without jitters and whatnot while still getting the speed ramp effect.
Damn OP3 has a wider FoW even compared to Viltrox 13mm? That’s insane.
Yup, considering both view shld be 20mm FF equivalent. The Pocket 3 i hold it quite close to me & stretching the zv-e10 far out

What are SLog and Dlog?
Hi, Slog and Dlog are both flat picture profile from Sony and DJI. When we shoot in log mode, we are able to capture more dynamic range. Thus, we will have more flexibility to perform Color Grade on our log footage.

hi aswin, yes you can ! But need to make sure you have a direct light source on your face, even a tiny bit is enough. Don't rely on the ceiling downlight.

Thanks, I didn’t really use any lut ! It is conversion lut from Sony Slog2 and DJI’s D-log to Rec.709 color
