This is one of the songs they dedicated to their late drummer, The Rev, hence the drum set at the very end. Basically, the whole album is a tribute to The Rev. Also, I got to see Avenged Sevenfold live back in March of this year and I am glad that I did. They're one of the best live bands you will ever see and I definitely would recommend for you or anyone on here to see them live.
I saw them back in January in Knoxville TN for my birthday. My favorite band. And they were fantastic live just as they were in the past. I can’t wait for their next tour. I’m buying tickets immediately.
Michael Portnoy of Dream Theatre recorded the drums for this album after the Rev passed. The Rev had already layed down the basic drum parts for the songs so he tried to honor them and pay tribute to The Rev's drumming style.
If you're on the Nightmare train with A7X and you haven't already, So Far Away is a MUST. Another personal favourite is Buried Alive. Great reaction as always!
Buried Alive is criminally slept on. The last few measures with that Metallica style riffing is so fucking good, and the solos during that section are such earworms, I'll sometimes rewind the solos for 10 minutes because they're so satisfying
This song is one of their best. It is a reference to their late drummer, The Rev. Avenges Sevenfold are my current favourite band. I grew up on Guns N Roses, and Metallica, and you can definitely hear the influences from these 2 bands in Avenged Sevenfold. The album Hail to the King is Avenged Sevenfold's black album. To fully appreciate Avenged Sevenfold, you need to listen to the full album. They are very eclectic. They started doing Metalcore on their first 2 albums. They do everything from heavy metal, hard rock, alt metal, and rock ballads, and they even have a country twang on a few of their songs. They also started doing some prog rock on their latest album. They love to experiment. The latest album is a bit too much for me, but it gets good reviews. At least they are not doing the same thing every time. They are just a fun band that get a lot of hate for their commercial success. As soon as a metal band becomes successful, people love to rip on them, especially metal heads. If you want to listen to a full album, then try their self titled album or City of Evil first.
I Won’t See You Tonight Pt. I&II Has been my hyperfixation song off and on since I first heard it almost 20 years ago!! The raw emotion and energy it gives off, and the range of Shadow’s vocals are amazing!🖤🖤
2:57 "Then I Saw The Spiders, Than You Lost Me At The Spiders" Hey, Aileen, I believe that it's relevant to point out that there's multiple callbacks to previous A7X videos, including that tarantula crawling on Rev's warm-up drum kit, which was a callback to the music video for "Afterlife" Other callbacks include: Zacky Vengeance dancing a waltz with a skeleton, also a callback to Afterlife The priest was a callback to the "Seize The Day" video The people who have the distorted eyes being a callback to the music video for "Bat Country"
Real quick, you are the prettiest like?? 🫠🖤Seeing you go back to these sorts of songs is going to be so much fun especially with how good this song is alone😌
This is one of my favorite Avenged songs. Hail to the King is really good too. It's been quite a while since you've reacted to Bloodywood. I love your reactions and they're one of my favorite bands, so I would be thrilled to see you do another. "Machi Bhasad" or "Jee Veerey" or really anything you haven't heard. It's all great.
Mike Portnoy basically finished what the Rev demoed for the writing of this album before he passed. Watch the drumeo clip of him talking about how he came to finishing the record with the band. Mike Portnoy is the greatest drummer of all time. And it's not a debate, that man has legendary skill and what he is able to do is just mind blowing. Everytime I see him do playthroughs it just blows my mind. And the guy is one of the most chill dudes out there! Awesome sense of humor!
Love A7X Seize the Day Afterlife Bat Country juz some of their best songs RIP The Rev ❤❤❤. Also u are always looking so beautiful Aileen luv ur content if i was forming a band id definitely have u as my bassist hope u & Arya have a wonderful day ❤❤❤🖤💞💕
When my mom who was 51 at the time and would have been 59 now moved to Greece from Norway she bought a van and had me install a stereo in it before she left so she could have some music on her drive down there. To my surprise this was the song she put on to test if it was good enough! I never even knew she was into metal like that!
IMHO, Portnoy did an amazing job in trying to mimic The Rev's style, and he saved the band when they needed someone most. His contributions to Avenged Sevenfold can never be doubted. That being said, hearing Brooks Wackerman play was like having The Rev back
11:35 Hey, Aileen, the video was inspired by the movie "Jacob's Ladder," which was Rev's favorite movie, and the video was shot in an abandoned mental hospital
i love that song from average sevenfold. i known where the band filmed that music video. The location is in los angeles in an abandoned hospital the name of the hospital is called Linda vista hospital. I was an extra in a short film when i was 13 the hospital is really huge lots of rooms. aileen very beautiful
Music video was filmed at the infamous Linda Vista insane asylum in LA. Song lyrics are every bit about the struggles of addiction and loss of the Rev. A+ creative on blending the scary insane asylum scenes with the lyrics. Gives listeners freedom of their own interpretation of the song.
If you continue with them, I think you will really like The Stage, their first concept album, but it's has lots of goodness. Also, on a side, not sure if you've ever heard of a group called Grinn? They are kinda newish, but their song All For You gave me the good shivers and you might also like. Keep rockin' :)
Always been my favourite by them, It's got such a lot going on, It's amazing and M Shadows vocals are awesome, The whole album Is badass Oh and lets not forget Buried Alive
This is definitely one of the best songs they ever did Synyster Gates absolutely destroyed that solo and the reason why they are being weird in the video that was their mindset or how they felt when they're late drummer passed away I believe in 2009 or 2010 Love the reaction 🤘🏻🔥🤘🏻🔥 Rest In Paradise Rev
Hi Aileen 😊 Absolutely fabulous reaction to Avenged Sevenfold's Nightmare 😊👍 I have much more to say about this but I'll keep it short and sweet for now and write another comment later. This is the first album after The Rev passed away and they did a beautiful tribute to him on the cover with the tombstone emphasizing Rev in the word FoREVer... That is so lovely and creative. Also at the end of the music video they showed his drum kit. The drums were already part of the mix before he passed away and they used him throughout the album... Again a very touching tribute. Again, I'll have more to say as I comment later. Have a great day you and Arya with much love 😊👍💪❤️👑👑 PS thank you for having the option down in the description box for the actual video when you have a filter for the reaction 😊👍 I always watch that first then go to your reaction 😊👍
I love this song I recently heard this one when it was covered on The Charismatic Voice the drums are amazing by Mike Portnoy from Dream Theater fame plus M Shadows kills it with his vocals and the guitar was amazing also the creepy stuff doesn't bother me because I grew up watching horror movies you need to check out the song they did on Necrophilia a lot of people are turned off by the subject but not me I thought the video was hilarious
That spider was in the afterlife official clip from avenged sevenfold, in that clip this spider was crawling in the rev face😁 oh and also when Zacky dancing with skeleton is in afterlife official clip, but the different is in afterlife clip is Zacky dancing with a pretty woman, just a fun fact
I am in shock that you aren't a A7X mega fan, I guess I assumed it since you have wicked cool tats and you like that heavy (death) metal. I've been a fan of them though ALL of their phases including some of the country stuff. Definitely check more of them out, rock on 🤘🏼
10:47 Hey, Aileen, I'm sure you noticed that throughout this video, specifically during the performance scenes of the band, that you never saw the drums, and only saw the empty drum kit at the ending of the video. That's largely because Rev had written the drum track but never gotten to record it before his untimely death, so the band brougjt Mike Portnoy from Dream Theater to play the drum tracks and had also invited him to appear in the video, but Portnoy felt like it was too soon after Rev's passing for him to appear in the video.
The Rev was an absolute king of a drummer. He used to write songs for the band and he's also the one who laid out a drum track for this song before it was recorded. Unfortunately he passed, so the drummer of Dream Theatre recorded the drums in studio (from what I read). You gotta check out this video of when The Rev did a studio recording of their song Almost Easy (linked) ruclips.net/video/AUaDPeMKq7g/видео.htmlsi=IG2HOnk7gPOLvgPh
I never looked it up but the opening 'dark lullaby' reminded me of the "Nightmare On Elm Street" movies. It probably was on purpose, especially with the title.
If you are liking their old stuff, you should definitely react to their song Beast in the harlot, or you should react to the sad but really enjoyable song so far away.
Oh oh you should ALSO WATCH EL ESTEPARIO SIBERIANO AND HIS DRUM COVER OF NIGHTMARE!!!!!!! Godzilla by Eminem, and Blinding Lights by The Weekend You won’t be disappointed
I saw them multiple times in the early 2000s and have to say they are definitely one of my favorites to see live.
I was at the Manchester performance!!
I saw them back in January in Knoxville TN for my birthday. My favorite band. And they were fantastic live just as they were in the past. I can’t wait for their next tour. I’m buying tickets immediately.

She should react to The Butts Remix song🙂

Mike Portnoy, not Michael Portnoy
RIP The Rev😢
Edit: You should totally check out more Avenged on the channel
I absolutely love this song!
Hail to the King, and This Means War are also bangers!
Hail to the King is a great song. The drum intro is amazing.
Hail To The King is sick as Fuck!!!
Okay, Portnoy is amazing and the tribute to Rev is great but... that main riff after the guitar solo is just *chef's kiss*
Avenged Sevenfold played at Rock in Rio here in Brazil last night. They hadn't come to play here in Brazil for ten years.
One of my favorites of all time!
My favourite song for a reason from my favourite band.. Would love to see more A7x reactions like Buried Alive,Second Heartbeat,Gunslinger etc

M Shadows' voice has a very distinct rasp to it that makes it unique.
This song I personally feel is their masterpiece. So much to love in this song
Within the fanbase it's actually very underrated. I love pretty much everything they've done and it is really arguably their best song.
Save me is the best song they ever made for me but hard to pick. I'm a big fan of the longer more instrumental songs
The empty drum kit at the end hits me every time....RIP Rev.........
I Won’t See You Tonight Pt. I&II
Has been my hyperfixation song off and on since I first heard it almost 20 years ago!!

“Lost” on their self titled album is so much fun. It’s upbeat and the melodies/harmonies give off video game vibes

A little piece of heaven! Its...different 🤘
Almost Easy is my favorite Avenged Sevenfold song and I'd like to see/hear your reaction to it!
Im so glad that you’re react to more Avenged Sevenfold songs, they are one of my favorite bands ever!! Nightmare is an amazing song 🤟🏻🤟🏻
you know all my favorites, this is definitely one. Avenged just be on their SHIT
Only 10 words needed: Must watch their song "Hail to the King"........ Nuff said!
Danger line is my favorite song on the album
Hello mi amor ❤ this album was made with the great Mike Portnoy 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽 saw A7X in December of 08 with Rev! RIP 🙏🏾 You rock sista!
Im surprised nobodies suggested CCR before - Run through the Jungle and Fortunate Son are two of their best and pretty iconic for the era
Avenged Sevenfold - This Means War is such a great song. Would love to see a reaction video to that
love this band
Set me free, and coming home are underrated. Definitely worth a listen ❤

The last song on this album "Save me" is one of my all time favorite songs ever!!! You should check it out.
I kove this one and seize the day as well
IMHO, Portnoy did an amazing job in trying to mimic The Rev's style, and he saved the band when they needed someone most. His contributions to Avenged Sevenfold can never be doubted.

Recommendations, "BURIED ALIVE" official lyric video
one of my fave bands (top5) and fave song from them.... so glad you checked this one out 🖤🤘 this band suits your style perfectly Aileen

Hey, Aileen, the video was inspired by the movie "Jacob's Ladder," which was Rev's favorite movie, and the video was shot in an abandoned mental hospital

Big fan of this band love almost all their songs happy your continued reacting to them
Music video was filmed at the infamous Linda Vista insane asylum in LA. Song lyrics are every bit about the struggles of addiction and loss of the Rev. A+ creative on blending the scary insane asylum scenes with the lyrics. Gives listeners freedom of their own interpretation of the song.

Yes indeed countdown to Halloween... Let's see if we can get Aileen to react to Michael Jackson's Thriller😊 Have a great day 😊👍
A Little Piece of Heaven? I don't know if she did that one, but it would be a perfect time for that song.

Saw them live during their USO tour 2010 in Baghdad of all places. Fuckin amazing.
This was my introduction to Avenged. Classic song.

This song is one that always gets me and my friends hyped. We always scream the chorus whenever it’s on 🤣 It’s also super high energy live
Fun fact, this video is a shot for shot recreation of the asylum scene in Jacob's ladder which was the late drummers fav movie

If you like the drummer, you should do more reactions to Dream Theater (their pre-2011 music to be precise).
Love this song , fantastic album.

Avengend sevenfold buried alive is really good as well.
