Please, react to a power metal band called "Sabaton". Their topics are mostly about history and I think you might enjoy reacting to them. For a lively concert reaction check out "Uprising (OFFICIAL LIVE)". For the most popular music video check out "Bismarck (Music video)".
TOOL - lost keys/Rosetta stoned. Lost keys is the intro to Rosetta stoned and leads directly into it.
Or critical acclaim by avenged sevenfold
Resentment by A Day To Remember
Plzz react to TXT, a K-pop group in the same agence with BTS. They're very talented and I'm sure you will love it !! Here's the songs that I recommand:
- Crown(The mv)
-Anti-Romantic (the lyrics)
- Can't you see me (The mv)
-Run away (the mv)
"I imagine a mental Asylum" well you are spot on, as that's what the music video uses
I chuckled the moment he said that and made me think "Well, good thing he isn't watching the official video would've spoiled himself otherwise haha"
Jimmy “the rev” wrote most of this album, he was the original drummer and died during the making of this album, he had a very interesting take on the world and life, years before he died he said he’d never make it past 30 and I believe he died at 28, he was a an amazing drummer and a brother to the rest of the band, the song so far away was written for the rev definitely worth the listen, R.I.P. the REV
Oh wow I didn’t know that he wrote most of the album and that he said he’d never make it to 30 😢 thank you
I always thought this album was written after his death, as many of the songs sound like tribute or remembrance
The last song he wrote was called "Death" handed the lyrics in 3 days before his death too, they changed the song title to Fiction as that is what he called himself. Crazy, RIP REV.
I fkg miss him man
@@Reineerus_The_Rat this is definitely the case.
Dude... I really think you'd love the lyrics and the storytelling of Danger Line by Avenged Sevenfold
Or M.I.A
Rather see save me or buried alive or beast and the harlot
it's wild how he gets it so fast, either it's not a first listen/he has the lyrics off to the side, either way I dig, although lyrics are usually the last thing you pay attention to.
crl o moreno aqui kkkkkk
@@voncius eu sou viciado no Knox Hill, po
I know it’s the popular choice but I think Afterlife would be a SMASH hit for you. Lyrically and sonically. There’s honestly so much in their discography that is worth diving into.
Edit: The Stage actually would probably be the most interesting track with the meaning behind it. Think this would actually be one of the more interesting breakdowns for you.
Lyrically Critical Acclaim would be a blast from Knox
@@thatbzguy916 The Live in LBC version.
@@AlchemistOfNirnroot god damn that show hit hard. Matteo(sp) on Walk was legendary
@@thatbzguy916 100% on Critical Acclaim. One of my all time favorites.
@@thatbzguy916 Matteo carried that show imo
Gunslinger is an underrated masterpiece by them. Beautiful, heavy and crazy build up.
Buried Alive, same sentiment. Gorgeous melody that dives into heavy riffs and heavy lyrics.
Gunslinger and Unbound I feel like are both so underrated.
Agree 100%
Gunslinger is so fire
Can't forget little peice of heaven.
Unbound (the wild ride ) is underrated also
Bat country, buried alive, shepherd of fire, hail to the king, and afterlife. You should give these a listen too, they’re my personal favorites!
Second that
Third that
Thank you for the recommendation, master kenobi
all of these are so goood!
Absolutely love A7X! A Little Piece of Heaven is a fun time, but be prepared. Seize the Day has one of my favorite guitar solos ever. So Far Away is a tribute song to The Rev and so full of raw emotion. You really can’t go wrong with anything.
little piece of heaven is a masterpiece of weird.. love it.
I was gonna suggest little piece of heaven too but knew someone HAD to have already. I 2nd this. I’d love to see Knox’s face with those lyrics, LOL
I've listened to this song for literal years and have never been able to pick up on the lyrics, and you just do it on the spot?? Dude, you're so incredibly talented!
There is so much pain in M shadows voice with this album, as some had said they lost there drummer during the making of this album, and you can hear it in his singing. Fiction is a good one from this album, so is danger line, welcome to the family well as buried alive. There self titled album has really good ones as well. Afterlife, almost easy and critical acclaim.
Critical Acclaim is probably favorite song by A7X. That or Chapter Four.
Nightmare was a fanfuckintastic album. They’ve never made a bad song in my mind. Not ready to die is their most underrated song imo. Also Rev was the goat
@@deathbat8738 not afraid to die is critically underrated. i havent meet many ax7 fans that know about that song
@ModeloTime one of my favourites, and one of the songs that really got me into a7x
Funny enough the Rev wrote all of those songs and composed almost all of thr Nightmare album by himself before he passed away. The Rev made that band what it is.
Those high drum sounds you heard coming out of the breakdown section were Octabans, a type of single-headed tube-like drum that varies its pitch by the length of the shells rather than the diameter of the drum shell as per the drums you usually see on a kit. They're one of the signature sounds of Mike Portnoy, who drummed on the Nightmare album after A7X's original drummer (and one of the band's main songwriters) The Rev passed away.
Buried Alive is a banger. The whole Nightmare album is a banger. Seriously, pick any song off this album next.
For real! This whole album is a masterpiece. This is the weakest track on it for me. And it's still a banger
@@stephaniewargin2927* this is the strongest
Avenged has some great albums, a lot of their music transitions to the next song so seamless its just gold. That last line goes into the next song at the same pace.
City of Evil did the best at that.
Favorite band! So glad you're delving into them. Such a talented band.
I’m loving these metal song breakdowns. Looking forward to more
About the ending of the song. If you listen to the album itself, you'll find that it doesn't abruptly stop and instead leads directly into the next track. It's good stuff. That whole album is fire and I hope you get to react to more from them
This is the best album in the last 20 years. And I would put Deftones Diamond Eyes up there also.
RIP Rev...the drummer, Jimmy 'The Rev' Sullivan's last album. he died before they released it and so it became a tribute album. The Rev was not only the drummer but an integral part of the writing. i'd like to see your take on more A7X
Great reaction/breakdown as usual. Love me some Avenged Sevenfold. Nightmare is my second favorite song by them. RIP Rev. Have a good week, Knox.
Brompton Cocktail is such an underrated song by them! Highly recommend checking it out, even if not as a reaction
Nightmare is my favorite album from A7X. Save Me is such a great song as well.
In regards to Nightmare it deals with an individual who is damned for his wrongdoings on earth. The song is sung from the point of view of a resident of hell, who may have once been a living person too, mocking the other character and pointing out that it's his own fault he's in hell.
Some other songs I think you'll enjoy would be "Afterlife", "Critical Acclaim," and "Unbound"
Those 3 songs are amazing!
Hell yes! You finally did my request I badgered you about for two months! Thanks Knox! .... The lead singer's personal beliefs have grown increasingly atheist over the years, but he doesn't allow his own individual perspectives to get in the way of quality songwriting. If there's a religious theme or principle that helps enhance the overall story and drive home the message he wants the listener to take from it, he'll use it because he knows that millions of his/their fans are religious, and he would never talk down to them about it (the way too many metal bands have had a tendency to do over the years).
In spite of his agnosticism/atheism, he's very well read on the Bible and has a deep comprehension of it. The name 'Avenged Sevenfold' itself comes from the Bible actually. I forget the exact chapter and verse, but it's from the Old Testament where God took mercy on Cain and promised him protection after he killed his brother, Abel, by decreeing that anyone in Israel who attempts to kill Cain for retribution for his own crime of murder will "...suffer the Lord's vengeance sevenfold" in the afterlife.
Speaking of Cain and Abel, Chapter 4 is a banger that Knox might enjoy.
Yes!!! This song is such a banger! One of my favorites of theirs to not only listen to but play on guitar
Let’s be honest, the xylophone is light and airy but goddamn it can be creepy af
If you want an A7X song that’s sonically really interesting I’d highly recommend Buried Alive. There’s 3 drastically different sounds/vibes throughout the entire song but somehow it all still blends really well together and somehow everything still sounds the same
YAS Buried Alive must be reacted to! Please!
Buried Alive is one of their best ever, dare i say in almost all the same ways One is one of Metallica's best.. period. I've found many to agree it's A7X's One, just as ALPOH is A7X's Bohemian Rhapsody.
final point; the fact that A7X can create absolute musical masterpieces like the two mentioned as well as simply straight up bangers that can grab the attention of radio, non-listeners, etc. is what makes them much more than just a good mainstream band.. they are class act, very well practiced, strongly proficient musicians
A7X babyyyy 🔥🔥🔥
🤘🤘🤘🤘🦇🦇
🔥🤘❤🤘🔥
These guys are badass! They have lot of great songs and the two guitar players have a twin lead that’s not been heard in music for a while. Great song and reaction!
Brompton cocktail, Roman sky, or if you are feeling super spicy you can try A Littel Piece of Heaven. I have to give you props for pulling the lyrics out live. That is really impressive.
One of my favorite bands! And my favorite song by them. "The Rev's" drumming in this song got me into playing the drums myself. He also sings in this and a bunch of their other songs. Although this is the last album he was a part of before he died. And this album ended up being a tribute to him. If you watch the official music video for "Nightmare" they show his drum kit at the end basically saying goodbye to him. So glad you're checking them out! They've just started releasing new music after 7 years with a new single called "Nobody" that I think you'd like. It's very different for them and on first listen I didn't like it but as I keep hearing it, I love it more and more. 🖤🤘
rev is on the demo mike portnoy is behind the kit in this version
@Frederic Morissette true. the rev essentially wrote the drum tracks but Portnoy respected the Rev so much he filled in for him for several months and recorded the album. Definitely 2 of the better drummers in metal
Sorry to break it to you but Mike Portnoy played drums on this album, not The Rev
@@mutatednut The Rev wrote them… Mike just played what Jimmy wrote… Respect to Mike for making it happen though. Amazing drummers, the both of them. Point still stands… what Jimmy had for this album, that Mike finished for him, got me into drumming…
@@brallin94 yeah I listened to the demos and they’re pretty similar. That’s cool this got you into drumming. I remember playing along to this song years ago when I was starting drumming too.
Great reaction as usual, Knox! I think you'd really love The Stage by them, especially with the video that goes along with it. Lyrics hit hard in that one.
This will probably get lost, and you will never see it. Which I completely understand. A couple years ago, I made a request on your Patreon to do The Stage by Avenged Sevenfold. I paid the fee and you responded. Unfortunately, at that time you were really busy and you didn’t get around to it. You did apologize and refund me my money. I just really regret you not being able to do it because I think you would really enjoy the lyrical breakdown. Also, the official music video will blow your mind.
The cliff hanger actually starts their next song on the album really well!
If you listen to both this one and welcome to the family all the little bits and pieces at the start of this song may make a bit more sense. (especially the lullaby aspect)
You should do more Avenged Sevenfold. Such a good band
Buried alive by them is also another good one 🤘🔥🔥🔥I in joy ur reaction to this song
Fiction, on this same album, is the last song The Rev wrote, he died before finishing it and the song is a tribute to him. It's SO gorgeous. You'd love it I'm sure 😍
Knox is a history dude, we need to get him to The Stage as fast as possible
Those higher pitched drums you mentioned near the end of the song are called Tama Octobans. They are all 6" in diameter but are different depths. Mike Portnoy, the one who did the final recordings of the drums has almost always had some on his kits.
Knox, you should react to some of Five Finger Death Punch's songs. I'd recommend "Wash It All Away" or "Inside Out" to start with, but they have a lot of fun ones to play with.
I have to say, your ability to pick out these lyrics so easily, especially being a first-time listener, with the symbolic analysis is a true superpower. Major props! I'm always in awe.
You break down lyrics better than anyone I’ve listened to.
On the album that ending with the echo bouncing around and getting slightly louder actually runs straight into the next song, Welcome to the Family. Like there's no break between them it just drops right into the drums on the next song which are pretty aggressive. Also a cool song to dive into, there's really no bad choices on that album, it's one of their best.
Coming home from their Hail to the King album probably the best song, technically, they've recorded!! You HAVE to do that song!! It'll blow your mind!
Guitar in that one is just... Yassss
@@Andjelka99 Hell yeah!! That whole song, every facet of it is just amazing! From the guitar to the drums to the vocals to the lyrics, it's absolutely amazing!!!
The whole band writes the lyrics to their songs. The back up vocals are also members of the band - Zaky Vengeance, Synyster Gates and The Rev (RIP man). One of the songs I believe would really showcase all of that for you is Little Piece of Heaven.
Bro... You hit the nail on the head and blew this review out of the park. This is the first review I've come across from you and you just earned a subscribe. My thoughts exactly on this song. I saw them in concert in 2010 and this was the album. The whole thing is 🔥. My other favorite off this album is Victim. I'd also recommend checking out Little Piece of Heaven and Sieze the Day and So Far Away(which is a tribute to their late drummer "The Rev").
The part you were talking about with the drums are octobons. Long tube drums. Mike Portnoy from Dream Theater recorded the drums on this album, and he has a plethora of those type drums on his kit.
In case you didn’t know or pick up on it, this album was released as a tribute to their drummer, The Rev, who had passed away not long before, if you look at the tombstone, the word “forever” is spelt intentionally “foREVer” out of respect and the memory of their late drummer
You should check out “Fiction” it was the last song the rev ever wrote. It was originally titled “Death” but the band changed it before the album was released.
I love Avenged Sevenfold they're tied as my favorite band, they have such a massive range and variety of songs that it's hard to recommend just one, I think Critical Acclaim and Lost you'd like, you love lyrics and story telling so A Little Piece Of Heaven, Danger Line, M.I.A, Strength of the World, all have great stories so I'm sure you'd like those, musically Exist is a long journey through Space from the Big Bang to now it's really cool.
Dude. With that guitar solo their guitarist Sinister Gates is one of the all time greats. All their songs have an insane solo
YES YES YES! More avenged please
Your breakdowns are the best on RUclips man. Love your stuff. Doubly love the Metal Monday additions.
This is what reaction content should be, turning a 6 minute song into a 20 minute discussion. If some of you are mad he pauses to much to talk about it you might need to just go listen to the song itself
Love people expanding they're musical palette ☺️ You're next A7X song should be A Little Piece of Heaven. A metal/show tune with wild ass storytelling and you're a lyrics guy and they're crazy. Mind will get blown, would love to see your reaction.
This was the album they were writing when their drummer, Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan passed away. It's very much an album filled with dark themes and loss.
Such a great song, and Of course the drums on this are amazing, as the drums on this track were played by Mike Portnoy.
I watch a lot of reactions to songs done by professional singers. You are the only professional that can break down a song in a way that’s understandable to someone like me that has no musical talent. Great reaction!
Oh man, I'd love to see your reaction to The Wicked End by A7X. They really dial up the religious tones and theatrical performance in that song. Hoping for a reaction/deep dive into the lyrics of that one
One of the best ever a7x songs - so underrated!
Jimmy the REV (drummer) was the main song writer for the band before he passed. He was very, very talented. Best song he wrote would have to be Fiction. Which he recorded 3 days before he passed.
& also me as a musician, he will always be my favorite drummer & my inspiration. We miss you. #jimmytherev
The writer for avenged sevenfold was there drummer but sadly in 2009, after writing majority of the album he committed suicide.
He didn't commit suicide, his heart was sick and nobody knew that
around 16:50 is was some small toms.. Portnoy (and the Rev who was the drummer prior on all their albums before he died prior to this album) both had huge drum kits with lots of toms and cymbals. The Rev was fascinated with Latin beats and jazz so he had a ton of unique patterns in his beats
A7X has a huge catalogue of amazing songs. Shepherd of Fire and Not Ready to Die are two more great songs it's hard to go wrong picking a song from them to react to.
if you want a song from each album in order (excluding sounding the seventh trumpet)
I won't see you tonight part 1&2 (it's one song split up into 2)
M.I.A
Almost Easy (famous for the drums being done in one take)
Save Me
Acid Rain
The Stage
Until The End
Nobody (this just came out a few days ago, it's a teaser single to their new album coming in June)
My first tattoo was A7x's Deathbat.. my junior high school soundtrack was their album Waking the Fallen.. so, I'm more accustomed to their heavier vocals. Their first album (Sounding the Seventh Trumpet) is a far cry from their newer albums. I'll never forget every live show.. The Rev playing drums, the theatrics.. amazing band.
I've loved them since middle school too, so glad I got to see them live before Rev died!
Highly reccomend checking out anything from their LIVE AT THE LBC concert. It's one of the best performances I've seen.
It’s a good song, I wish the fans who picked this one out would’ve started with a Jimmy track, I feel he appreciates good drums. Good reaction though as always🤙
Great analysis of the lyrics! I always listened this song for the music and never paid this much attention to the lyrics but I'll do that in future.
I kinda drifted away from this band around this time. I always checked on them with each release however. The Stage is probably their best album. But damn, if you did anything of of Waking the Fallen, you'd be in for a treat. Specifically, I won't see you tonight...both parts. It's a deep cut and true fans will know and love these songs. They changed drastically after this album, especially Matt's vocals.. Also, feel free to check out anything off of The Stage even if its not a youtube reaction vid.
Same, same. Chapter IV is amazing. IWSYT pt.2 is a personal favorite of mine.
Hoping life is but a dream is even better
For me its Waking the Fallen, City of Evil and Avenged Sevenfold. Basically everything after that i didn't liked exept Nightmare and The Stage as single songs.
City of evil is definitely their best album
Would love to see more avenged sevenfold reactions, i think theyre still my favourite metal bands, really unique sounds
Another band to react to is five finger death punch
Not their current stuff but like unknown tracks from their first album like "Salvation", "Death before Dishonor" or "The Devils Own"
@@sgtfunko8734 yh like the bleeding and carnt heal you or ashes an amazing album
I absolutely LOVE when you and Elizabeth (charismatic voice) review the same songs... Two takes on the same song from two different backgrounds and perspectives, but both so passionate about the music and message
Please do more A7X!! Love your reactions 🙌
Man, i just started relistening to A7X like 2 days ago, damn it takes me back...love these guys. one of the reason I picking drumming as hobby. 🤘
The more you listen to A7X, the more you'll start being amazed by their lead guitarist. There's only one Synyster Gates in this world, and Avenged Sevenfold has him! Sorry, everybody else.
Shepard of fire, hail to the king, carry on, and a little piece of heaven are my personal favorites that I think you'd enjoy breaking down.
Please also react to Electric Callboy starting with Hypa Hypa! They are just such a fun band
this one of my favorite bands, I have seen them live 3 times, and one of the times was when they opened for Metallica! Best concert in my life!
Nice, my first concert (so far only 1 of 2) was when they opened for Metallica when hardwired came out. I don’t think anything will ever top it
You should do thier official video for "A little piece of heaven" next time you react to them 😂
The ending right there led into the next song, “Welcome to the Family”
You gotta start watching the videos man you're not doing it justice
Knox Knox I'm glad that you jumped in this metal has a lot of cool songs
They opened with this a few years back at fiddlers green, and nothing will beat the power of everyone there screaminf nightmare to start their set.
They're always great with their opening tracks. Critical Acclaim is another one
I could listen to every song they released haha.. keep it going!
I was at this show in PA. DUDE JUMPS FROM THE STADIUM RAFTERS AND HANGS HIMSELF. Like twitching suspended in the air the whole song. I don't think I'll ever forget that show.
Listen to this song for years without looking up the lyrics and Knox over here after his first listen getting every lyric right. Amazing bro
as I stated in the last AX7 reaction. Due to his throat surgery and nearly dying. They told him he'd never sing again. So Shadows likes to push his vocals as a big fu. i still got this! love it. Next do "Hail To The King" 🤘
Not sure what happened but you stopped showing up in my algorithm. Used to watch all your ERB and rap reactions. Then I noticed you had disappeared. As a metal fan so glad this one popped up out of nowhere! Time to binge watch your reactions again!!! Many people say rock/metal doesn't have lyricist like rap....maybe it doesn't but there are definitely bars! Looking forward to this! Here we go!
If I recall correctly the whole Nightmare album was originally supposed to be a concept album that revolved around a person who got involved with the wrong people and they are dealing with the outcome of the choices they've made (Welcome to the Family is another song that delves into that) but after the passing of their drummer The Rev, the album became more about his passing.
This is my first video of yours and I love how you viewed and dissected this song and it's lyrics, dude. I'm subbing and I can't wait to binge tons of your videos. 🤙
I love how you break it down and describe it. It shows a much more interesting light then just evaluating the lyrics
Those few seconds when the sound was louder, was actually perfect for listening to both you and them: Their and your volume was finally balanced. I have commented on this in previous reactions.
Love this band. The talent is real. Great review as usual
You should absolutely check out the new song "Nobody" they just dropped a week ago. First song in 7 years. Big fan of you Knox
Love the video as always. I was watching your GRIP - Walkthrough reaction again and I realized you never got to his song Patterns? off the same album. Would highly recommend. GRIP is a great artist
Your breakdown and understanding of the lyrics is amazing brother. Hands down the best reactor especially to metal bands. My man 💪🏾
vibed with that a super lot. alpha tier musical content. will be recommending this to more people!! 😵
@KnoxHill my son, at 12 years old asked for a drum set out of the clear blue. We didn't know, he'd been watching RUclips videos on how to drum and had taught himself before he ever had the set LOL. This was the song that he played over and over and over so I know this one well 😂😂😂 I have a video of him when he was with his band that was professionally done, and I've been thinking about uploading it to RUclips. My son is now 27 with two babies of his own. He doesn't tour anymore, and the drumming inside their house ....even in a farther away room scares the Ish out of the little ones... so this really brought back GREAT memories for me!! Thanks Knox another 🔥🔥🔥 🔥 reaction!!!
Hey we're here early for once! great breakdown! The lyricism is one of my favorite things about the band, it helps that the songs are just extremely catchy, throw in some killer guitar solos by Sinister Gates and you got yourself a bunch of bangers!
When I saw this uploaded, I was surprised it wasn't their new single Nobody.
Those drums you heard that may have sounded like he was hitting the rim of the drum kit are just smaller toms and you can hear as they go from smaller toms to bigger ones and it opens up
A7X a little piece of heaven- official video
It’s enjoyable watching new fans discover the miracle that is Avenged Sevenfold, i have 57 songs alone from A7X on my playlist
