Thanks for bringing the housing problem to light - it really is a huge issue in the UK, especially London. I don't think people in the US quite understand just how expensive houses are over here. Unless you buy a house with a partner who's also well-off, you have no chance of buying a house until you're into your 30s.

The UK has a fairly unique problem in that it's a very small country with a high population, where the average wage is also fairly high compared to the rest of the developed world. Simple demand and supply theory leads to rapidly rising housing prices. But then you may think that if houses become too expensive for most of the UK to buy, prices must come down. But no, it's because the top 5% of wealth in the UK and thousands of foreign wealth are buying up multiple properties to rent out or sell on for a profit to other wealthy people around the world. London is one of the most desirable locations for the wealthy elite across the world, and it just pushes prices up beyond the reach of the normal UK residents.
This should motivate me to get a better life doing what I like, but for some reason it does the exact opposite... Pulled me down a bit.. But I cant help but feeling happy for you 2... At least you managed to be happy
That Quick Check thing as you walked in the Entrance. A store called Albertsons in the US had those back in 2002 for some time, they were awesome. But people kept using them to get away with more than they were scanning and so the stores shut down the program. :( I loved using those as a kid. Its cool that they still exist in that manner in todays world. I know some stores in the US have switched to a cell phone method of this type but not ever location offers it and I liked the handset scanner vs using a phone. My area doesn't offer the cell check out yet all we have at the moment is store pick up and self check out.
As a student, I also worked fruit and veg in a different British supermarket and had the same spider experience from a crate of bananas. Trapped it in a salad bar box too. It's a rite of passage I think!
I wish I could see this kind of super casual self-interview between other hosts and actors. Like Myth busters origins in detail, Joss Whedon and cast, and things like that. That Quick Check thing as you walked in the Entrance. A store called Albertsons in the US had those back in 2002 for some time, they were awesome. But people kept using them to get away with more than they were scanning and so the stores shut down the program. :( I loved using those as a kid. Its cool that they still exist in that manner in todays world. I know some stores in the US have switched to a cell phone method of this type but not ever location offers it and I liked the handset scanner vs using a phone. My area doesn't offer the cell check out yet all we have at the moment is store pick up and self check out.
As a student, I also worked fruit and veg in a different British supermarket and had the same spider experience from a crate of bananas. Trapped it in a salad bar box too.
It's a rite of passage I think!

I wish I could see this kind of super casual self-interview between other hosts and actors. Like Myth busters origins in detail, Joss Whedon and cast, and things like that. It's such a cool way to paint a picture, much more relate able than "I had $1.5 in my pocket now I have 3 Lamborghinis in my garage"
