I love how Gav comes up with odd crazy ideas and then Dan logically has to shoot it down until the idea is refined into a practical safe idea lol. Good teamwork!
This whole video just felt like I was on a weird date with Dan because of the perspective of how it was filmed from Gav’s POV.

@@tombull1342 Except none of the actual editing. It just shows slowmo files. For example, in the Oct 13 2020 video Gav shows that he has to convert the files using various programs and there are colour issues. And even then, we don't see any of the editing.
What I'm interested in is Gav's process and mind behind how he edits things together.

Gavin has such a unique life. So relaxing but crazy at the same time. Idk why but i had so much respect for Gavin before this. Love the guy so much. But after this video i respect him way way more. I had that exact hammock model, and it wasn’t comfortable. There was no slack at all, like laying on wood, and it would flip you over if you weren’t perfectly balanced.

fun fact: you can adjust the open hight ok those cars. They don't open fully all the time in case you have a low ceiling in your garage.

I was a tech at a GM dealer, can't tell you how many people came in complaining that their lift gate wouldn't open high enough... Always seemed embarrassed when I pointed out the control for the door height.
Do people really not bother to check out their cars and find all the little buttons and stuff? That's the first thing I do, press all the buttons and see what they do.
Right? I managed to drive one for a week before GM got rid of the ambassador program last year. Iirc it was a pretty noticeable knob right up near the dome light. I didn't mess with it since I didn't need to open the back, but I knew what it was.
To be fair though, if you were just renting it for a couple days you might not be concerned with what all the buttons, switches, and knobs do.

Where they are filming (I don't think Gav lives there anymore) is in Austin, Texas. An area known as Hyde Park. It's an old suburb from the 1950s which was considered far north Austin then but now is in the center of Austin. It's one of those places which was considered junky in the late 70s till the mid 90s but although old, is now a highly desirable and more expensive part of town. Where they stopped to have coffee is a newer mixed use development (called The Triangle because it sits where the road splits) that for most of Austin history was an empty field owned by a mental hospital. Where they stopped to buy paint was the former airport. If you flew into Austin between the 60s till the late 90s that's where you landed.
This was a nice, chill video; I didn't know you guys have an entire house just for filming. And the dudes that walked by and casually said they like your work were super cool.
It's also super refreshing to see Gavin know so much about filming with your camera and editing after seeing him say like dumb stuff at RoosterTeeth.
