The Friday after Thanksgiving my brother and I were fortunate to get into a school of pompano from the north Packery jetty. for about two hours they were biting on shrimp, pink fish bites, and goofy jigs. We caught so many we let the last one go, and went home with about 10 nice pomps! Looks like y'all had a great catching day, too!
I hope that Prevail II rod is built better than their 1st gen. Every Prevail I owned with Fuji guides lost one or more ceramic inserts.
I did here some folks got them off the rocks ..Got to love when it's ez to get them that way. I want to try a pomp jig when they are thick like that on the rock

@@southtexasfishingfam3436 Look at the MOUTH then look at pictures of actual pompano on Google Images. Pompano mouths are very thin and frail. You had a thick-mouthed jack. Been fishing longer than you have been alive.
