- What's up, Fishing Fam! I joined up with Juan and devin to fish San Jose Island, arriving on JULY 22 at 6pm Fishing till 2pm the next day, and that's when other friends Conner and Ryan joined up ! it was definitely an experience.. there were so many fish caught!

The date is in the description.. also it was pretty much brown all over when this happened. The blue water only made it to north for a bit.. I got on kingfish 2 weekends in a row, and both times South Jetty was not clean. on this date it was a dirty clean green .. the weekend After clean brown.. while north stayed clean

Great Video of fishing off the south jetty. I mean the Port Aransas Jetties of course. The only thing that bugs me about you guys is….. all the fantastic video equipment that is now available, and wasn’t hardly even in the beginning stages when I was there. I know it takes work to get out to the ends, as I remember being younger and a pro Capt and Boat Dealer (sail & power… mostly sail) it was over a mile out to the end. Yes fishing from a boat there was fine, but you have to always keep maneuvering. I even tried snagging a large manta ray at one time on the south jetty with a weight loaded Russell Lure, but was unsuccessful. Probably better off if I hadn’t. I knew I would have to cut him off anyway, probably after he had already taken all my line off my senator.
Anyway, your video compared to some shows you include a narration, along with some excellent live audio and video of your fishing excursions. You show the right way for those inexperienced. Any visitors to your area just NEED to fish there before returning to the lake country. You are using nice equipment, including surf trucks. Even wind on the microphones is reduced to be tolerable, and we both know the coastal bend is windy country. I appreciate how you show fishing within the regulations and rules. Many do not understand that it is hard at times to fish within the Texas Parks and Wildlife laws, but yes they are important. I was lucky when we didn’t have the Over-length rules where we had to return the large catches, just the minimums.
I haven’t been there for over thirty years now, although I keep contact with some of the best sailing racers in the CC Bay and Padre Island areas. Thanks for posting your videos. They are very entertaining and brings back the memories I have to try to keep fresh. The other factor is. Tonight I am gonna try your recipes. Mine are similar, but yours look interesting. My 27 years in the professional yachting and guiding were my joy in making a living in an occupation where you can’t wait to get to work in the morning… My Thanks & Respects Sir.

Are the spikes y’all are wearing just normal spikes from Amazon?
They are however I'm using new shoes korkers just released.. they have detachable bottoms so you can switch from spikes to regular rubber bottom . The are called the all terrain all axis shoes wading shoes

What size reel and rod should I use to jetty fish?
Honestly any reel you are comfortable with however I prefer the reel to hold atleast 300 yards of 50 pound or close to it. I ak using currently a sargosa 8k sw .. amd a pen slammer 55 both can hold just about 300 yards of 50 pound braid give or take a bit

Yes it is wel it's the north jetty .. which is called San Jose jetty or Saint joes🤙
