Have you been out lately? How's the water. I was out there on the weekend of August 20th right by Bob Hall pier on the beach. We droned out some stingray about 400 yards. Was out there for two days. We got cut off twice. On different days.
I was out there Saturday and the tide was ripping… too much into even fish.
Yep I know what you mean..I had to adjust by moving farther in the channel and it worked for me

Size 3 gamakatsu octopus j hook is my favorite go to. I Don't like to use circle hooks much, because I prefer to get a good Hooksett .unless targeting big bullreds or big blackdrum or sharks

The curado dc and the coastal are being service, there yearly severice. I haven't had issues with the coastal. The dc I had worm gear issues, but I'm sure it was due to lack of service.. The 70 mgl is usually on the waterloo I have. But this day called for it, so I needed to make some swaps

What hook size is that? Need a pack before heading there!
I started withe size 3 ran out and switched to size 4. Octopus j hook by gamakatsu...not the circle hooks. I like to set hook on a fish so I use j hooks with the eye slanted a bit.....make sure you have enough. There is snags also

I started with a gamakatsu size 3 octopus jay hook ran out, because of snags..then started to use size 4 lol
Never hook a dead shrimp from the head to tail. Hook them from the tail to the head. They swim tail 1st > Not head 1st > Live shrimp? be care full on how you hood them in the head. Do not hook a live shrimp into the tail. You want it to jump and swim freely..👉👉 They make a shrimp hook that is spring load, that fits there horn down to the end of there shell, on any size shrimp > THAT WHAT I USE. on live shrimp 👍👍

Its just a long hook shaft, with a ink pen spring and like a washer it front for the shrimp horn, and that tightens up on the shell. It looks like a beer can pull ring, for it to hold on the shell

How much love shrimp did you get for a trip like this ?? Just curious . I always seem to get either to little or way too much bait that ends up dying .
Generally when I fish and il buy about a pint ..il buy a quart if I plan on fishing more of the day ..however most the time I get a quart and only need half of it
