it is moving. Even slightly but its moving. if you ever get to see one up close while its powered up, take a look at its control surfaces. A slight trickle will be seen, as the lfight control system provides constant adjustments of positions. Heck, even in this video, pay attention to the elevator at 01:04 mark, as the pilot brakes to stop the aircraft. It causes the nose gear absorber to compress, and the aircraft to sense a pitch down movement which for the FCS system is un commanded, so it uses the elevators to compensate. These movements never stop, and when up close the whole aircraft feels like a living being, trickling and shivering

Very true however this was probably among the first flyby wire jets that’s what makes it so quick and nimble and highly maneuverable it’s like a Porsche or something along those lines it’s handling it’s just fantastic👍😊
Actually once it gets transonic, the centre of pressure moves aft and goes through the centre of gravity. So at slow speed it’s unstable but once fast enough becomes stable.
I'd like to see the USAF take one F-16C, Block 30, strip it of all excess ballast, and install a GE F110-132. A 25,000 lb. jet with 32,500 lb. thrust !! Man, that would be a real rocket !!

I was blessed enough to witness a flight test at Edwards AFB where they had a F-16 and F-22 do this same maneuver back to back. I can say without exaggerating that the F-22 capability to climb after takeoff made the F-16 look like a propeller plane from WW1. It was anime type stuff like where the big tough guy is effortlessly beaten by the new boss. The difference in capabilities was cartoonish.
C'mon man! WW1 ? Raptor is cool and all, but the Viper is no slouch! Both jets have climb rate of 50k feet a minute if pushed. Think you're overly dramatic friend.
It's the *_thrust/weight ratio_* that matters most for a fighter's climb capability, and that's almost the same for an F-15, F-16 and F-22 if all are similarly loaded.
The last year the Blue Angel s flew th F 4 , i saw them practicing at Ouenset Point RI. ,one of the flew as slow as it would go without stalling just barely above the runway, hit the afterburner, stood it basically on its tail and took off almost vertically.
