“The pride of mother Russia!”
The McDonnell-Douglas F-4E Phantom II, built in St. Louis, MO...
Lol
That's the Chinese copy-- the J-4E. That's why Mover kept getting confused about the instrumentation.
The Mig 4E
@@orlock20 never heard of it
@@rideroftheapocalypse1150 That's because they are for TV shows and movies only and often gets called different names in the script.
"There's no such thing as a stupid question, just stupid people who ask questions!"
Dude you make me cry!
The only stupid questions are the ones by "that guy" who doesn't ask because they want the answer but because they want to seem clever by asking a clever question like "professor, have you you ever heard of ____?"
That is fucking hilarious.
It’s painful to sit in a conference with other officers asking the same stupid question but wording it differently.
Thankfully a LCOL who used to be a para started telling people to shut the fuck up
F-4 = MiG 29. That physically hurt me to hear and look at.
as a Russian, I feel your pain, and then some...
Yeah even as a kid I knew this was wrong. But I can't complain about watching two of my favorite air frames in action sequences even if one of them has a hammer and sickle on it. LOL
lmao, I'm dying inside at this.
No worse than Kfirs as MiG-23s in the first one.
Well ..how could film producers get their hands on real Migs in the 80s. We had F-5s as Mig-28s that never existed in TopGun also.. It could never have happened before the Cold war ended. Today ...it could be done..id just love to know what are going to be used as the enemy aircraft in TopGun 2...any ideas ...
LMAO when the F-4s fired their Guns and it looked all cheesy with a massive barrel flame and Mover says...."What was that? An AK-47..." LOL
Yeah especially since they used an F-16 gunport, which that strange barrel flame.
The sound is from an ak 47 I bet! At least it sounded like that to me too!
I just assumed that it was the F16s firing and maybe they had rear mounted guns or something in this film 😂
Gsh 30-1 on mig-29 is rather slow firing compared to Vulcan =)
"Sir, please get off the ramp when it's lowering" LOL
They should’ve called those MiG-26
To keep the movie terminology in line.
@@SlippinLaudna
Mhh... a lot like your right arm after you met grey fox... not particularly well. Like me after all. Being honest. Afterlife is pretty boring.
Still waiting to be back in a HD remake tough.
"The Viper would smoke an F-4."
Not an F-4 that was upgraded to a Mig-29!
And specially if the F4 was using R27 missiles 😆😆
To be fair f4 can smoke anything. The engines at least.
The Phantoms had them outnumbered two to one.
An F-4 equipped with AK-47s can take down an F-35, if it has a tough enough pilot, brought back from the reserve.
@@SmartassX1 The ultimate blyatmobile!
Hey, they shot a missile into the thermal exhaust port after flying down a canyon, chased by enemy fighters! I think I saw that move in another documentary about flying somewhere a long, long time ago.
Shot by a farm boy from a desert town far, far away.
@@Love2Cruise Yup, just like beggars canyon back home!
....In a galaxy far far away
That was just rebel propaganda.
Mover should ruin Star Wars.
"Yeah, I'm sorry, everyone knows those X-wings can't take off vertically."
"Red 5 going in? Yeah, that's not a com."
"So this Red 5 guy shoots a laser ball that curves down a shaft and detonates this planet-sized space station that can destroy other planets? Well, that's actually one thing Hollywood got right finally."
I used to fly with the Visual Effect coordinator on this movie. He told me crazy stories of them filming in Israel, getting aerial footage from the back of F-16's and F-4's. He said it was a disorganized mess of a movie shoot, but the most fun he'd ever had on set.
Inspired him to get his PPL, now he's got an immaculate J-3 Cub.
Not surprising to hear haha. The aerial footage in this film is every bit as impressive as Top Gun's, perhaps moreso.
Do you know why they avoid using the sound of 20mm?
That stock "jet whoosh" sound from the old He-Man cartoon really got a work-out here.
"He said something in Russian, that's authentic" absolutely cracked me up lmao!!
Flight of the intruder and Firefox. Two classics that won’t disappoint.
Love the rail riding in Firefox... lol
I always admired this franchise for its ability to completely ignore reason, logic, psychics, and continuity to bring us these cinematic marvels. If you haven't seen the third instalment yet just strap in.
You left out my favorite part; almost got to it, too!
Chappie: "If we get back to the states, I got to show you some stuff."
Russian Col. "No way, I hear in America, they shoot communist's in the streets."
Chappie: "Are you kidding?! In Detroit, my home town -- they shoot EVERYBODY in the streets!" ROFL
Best scene in the movie!
@@kempet Agreed. It's funny how the best scenes in any movie don't revolve around the result of the highest budget moments, but rather, the moments performed by actors in their zone.
Nower days they elect communist to congress and even the presidency
And that was when it was safer
Not much has changed in Detriot. Even pulling the fences of the city limits in like it was a baseball field didn't help.
When "Hot Shots" is a more accurate depiction of air combat, you know you've got problems. And speaking of "Hot Shots", when is Mover going to ruin it?
@@GhostWatcher2024 Thanks, I noticed a few days ago. (It's great that he got around to it about 2 months after I posted that comment.)
So they train with Russians then fight them? 🧐
"Maintenance is going to be pissed though, purposely over-g'ing the jet!" This man speaks the truth!
I remember watching it when I was 10 or so, and I was laughing uncontrollably when that gatling gun started firing at a rate of one per second.
"He's trying to maneuver up my ass"
Good lord, the overheards in this movie are legendary.
You can hear the pain in his voice when he introduces the movie.
The Iron Eagle movies come under the heading 'so bad they are good' - remember seeing this one when it came out on video and laughing at F-4s being called MiGs. Mind you, if you think this is bad, wait until you get to No 3 - Christopher Cazenove playing the suave Brit hanging out of a Spitfire cockpit with a shotgun, rocket boosters on a P38 and the most hilarious German Wunderwaffe you have ever seen. Worth drinking before watching. Agree with a lot of the guys on here, you have to do The Final Countdown if only for the F14 vs Zero segment
the me-263 in iron eagle 3 is a real aircraft called the Scaled Composites ARES also really carries a 25mm vulcan cannon
I know this is a year old but the fourth is hilarious. A piston engine plane destroyed an f16 with 50 caliber rounds.
I have no idea how many Iron Eagle movies there are, but you might as well continue and "ruin" them all. Also, the battle cry of Cobra-La at 6:00 was totally unexpected. Choked on my coffee a little bit. Great stuff, Mover.
There is a third... I'm both scared and excited if he'll ruin that. Lol
@@antrillion its also the best one with WWII war birds! :)
There are four...each one getting progressively more hilariously bad. Mover needs to ruin all of them!
@@Whiskey11Gaming I remember driving near downtown with my parents one day and saw Chappie's Jeep Cherokee being pulled while they filmed a scene.
@@bouncebynum omg... They made a fourth?! After the third I thought they were definitely done....The worst part is... Now I've got to find and watch it! :D
At least Top Gun had the decency to turn the F5 into a fictional A/C
Was physically hurt when they called the F-4 a Mig-29
*Disclaimer, not sure when the actual mig-29 came out
The MiG-29 first flew 11 years before Iron Eagle 2 was released!
First flight of Mig-29 was 6 October 1977 .
I also like how they chose one of the most distinctive fighters ever and called it a MiG, at least you could pass a F-5 as something else if it’s from a distance
Hey Mover, any chance of doing The Final Countdown? Tomcats vs A6M Zeros!
I recommended that he do that movie, too.
YES
I second the recommendation!!!! TOMCATS 😎🇺🇸
TOMCATS!
He wont do it because you can't ruin perfection.
This is like Mystery Science Theater but with fighter jet movies. Love it.
Flight of the Intruder.
Yes please.
Yes, Flight Of the Intruder =)

Yesss! I love the A-6!
The A6 deserved better
I know you really like the F-16, but for me the F-4 Phantom II was one of the most beautiful planes ever built!
(right after the TU-95 Bear :P )
Trying to pass off an F-4 For a Mig is just amazing.
Who's there? Too Wide! Too Wide Who?
Two ....... why'd you let us over-G into Soviet Airspace before engaging with them?!
Ahh you beat me to it with the Darkstar!
I guess it must be next to impossible to pull up when you've been using your stick as a throttle, and even harder when you cut the throttle pulling up. Only Vipers I saw with that throttle config came out of a Battlestar!
"Violated his airspace" ….. is that a So To Speak ? …. Oh my god they keep getting worse!
I would be curious to your take on Stargate: Continuum's F-15 scene, though not sure if you'll get a full video out of it. I guess you could try to cram in some series details as I understand the Air Force took particular interest in this franchise. I definitely had Stargate's Kinsey in mind when I was reading your Kerry Johnson character. I mean you denied flat earth, chemtrails and aliens but I never heard you once deny the Stargate program exists. That's gotta mean it exists ….. right? .... huh?
One more thought amidst this pulp of "idiot thinks aloud", and I wanna straighten up the face a bit before I say it :
I just wanted to send some sincerely good thoughts on this Veteran's / Remembrance day. Here's to you and your awesome mates, especially the ones we'll never get the honour to see or hear from.

I'm 39.
When I saw these movies originally, I absolutely believed all this shit was real LOL.

"She can't be in your jetwash! She was in front of him!"
"He went idle to pull up?"
The one line reactions are gold
I was dying 😭
16:27 "You violated his airspace" he's referring to the beginning of the film when they killed Doug
I thought the cassette tapes in the cockpit were absolutely absurd. The in Desert Storm, Comm Shop whipped up Y cords for the pilots and all our F-117's were music capable. AC/DC into the target and Berlin on egress. Oh yeah, Country during the launch.
If they don't salute, how are us civilians supposed to know they are in the military?
Your responses are awesome! Thank you for the hard work and dedication in your career.
I like that Mover pointed out that the General character puts on his cover indoors at 7:23. That’s a thing in movies that really bothers me.
Can't wait for the next episode of Mover Ruins Car Dealerships.
This movie was already ruined without Mover even saying anything...
Gosh... How many mistakes can a person make in one movie...😱
RE: Independence Day... "Another documentary!" Classic stuff!!
I love it when he says "G-FORCE HAHAHAH IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HUD" 😂
Love you doing these sir.
Terminator Salvation: A10s.
Stargate Continuum: F15s.
The Final Countdown: F14s & Japanese Zeros.
Godzilla: King of the Monsters: F35s & V22s.

MiG 29 in Iron Eagle 2
An F-4 Phantom that identifies itself as a MiG 29 ,with an internal AK47 cannon that fires 7.62x39mm.....
love it....
Someone gets too close to me at the store I’m saying they violated my airspace
Bubble violation!!
"this is how Goose died." The funniest thing I've heard all week. I have to confess - I actually paid money to see this crap in a movie theater...And your facial expression at 25:20 is exactly how I look after watching most movies involving sailing (except for "Captain Ron and "Wind"). I feel your pain.
I had a hard time feeling bad for that Viper pilot who couldn't reverse on an F-4 Phantom.
Man we are cut from the same cloth. I used to pick apart these movies all the time. Get's on my wife's nerves. I could go all day.......so to speak!

At 17 minutes, that shot of the gear coming off the ground was of the camera Lear 25 I have a lot of time in as a camera plane pilot.
Mover, this was real entertaining!
The Soviet aircraft are referred to as Mig-29s, yet they are actually *F4 Phantom II's.* The *Soviet BMP-5s* are actually M113 armored personnel carriers with a mock turret and missile rack added on. The F-4 Phantom II fighter-bomber was shown as a single seat aircraft.

That "hi speed" cannon looks like good ol' hand operated gatling gun with one lazy guy turning that handle 😜
Haha, funny to see this after more than 20 years and watching it over 30 times as a kid...
Hi Mover! Honestly, it was my favourite aviation movie and I watched it a hundred times...decades ago, when I was a child. Now, at the age of 43 I can say thank you for ruining Iron Eagle 2. You're absolutely right: it really is horrible! :))) Greetings from Hungary!
Mirages, Phantoms, and Vipers...Oh my.
And they made two more of these steamers. How Doug survived that explosion to appear in IE IV is beyond me.
He survived? Wut?
@@writingref Yep, turns out he managed to eject and held captive, Doug was played by a different actor. _'Never say die! Iron Eagle...!'_
lets not talk about Iron Eagle 4, please. the first three are fun films. lets just leave it at that.
They did Doug dirty in this, he goes from cocky, fearless 18 year old that defeats a Middle Eastern Ace while rescuing his dad, to a man that panics at the first sign of danger and gets himself killed.
True, but the actor from the first Iron Eagle was supposed to play the part of Matt Cooper in this film. He refused, so they had him play a guy who gets killed off.
The four star with the classified material is Angel from the Rockford Files.
OMG, thank you. I was going crazy trying to remember who he was
TOMCATS
This is the movie that made me fall in love with the F-16
It's said that with a big enough engine, even a brick could be made to fly. And the Phantom needed 2 of them.
But I seriously love the look of the Phantom. Cold War cool.
It wasn’t a patch on the English Electric Lightning, but not sure how bad it was compared to the F-104 Starfighter
I love listening to mover talking and learning from him his hard talk cockiness brass of superiority larger than life ego call it what you will you can tell he is a real fighter pilot
Love Mover Ruins Movies. Final Countdown would be great!
Mover you’ve such a great sense of ( dry ) humour & are thoroughly entertaining. Thankyou for taking the time to share you’re experiences. We mortals have the utmost respect for your accomplishments. Any more strange or unique situations eg. the lightning strike. Thank you
USAF aircraft tail code "BA" is for Bergstrom AFB near Austin, Texas, which closed in 1993.
You're right, because that base was home to the 67th Recon Wing, flying RF-4C Phantoms.
I second doing a “Mover Ruins Movies” with “Straight into the Sun” great viper footage!
25:30 that was actually a point i liked about this movie.. the mission is entirelly so they can take out the silo without bombing the area wich would cause a lot of collateral damage to civilians in the enemy side.. both goberments want to drop a nuclear attack on that bunker base .. the russian general finds out and tells Sinclaire that it will kill a los civilians in a large area arround the target.. so they decide to proceed with the mission in order to save those Civilians even when they are in the enemy country.. those missiles were never going to fly out of that bunker.. american and russians civilians were safe and allways were.. the entire thing was to save "enemy" civilians.. and thats one of the little things i apreciated in this plot.. Americans and Russians fighting together in order to save irani civilians
I want a shirt of "TOMCATS!!!". I don't know why but every time you say it, cracks me up.
He said....... Pickle Down! Goose Down is acompletely different feather.
At 1:58, he's apparently pushing 9.0Gs while diving, meaning he's pushing 9.0 _negative_ Gs. Then he pulls 9.5Gs while in a roll. Then the next guy pulls 10Gs in a roll.
...
If you survived that(unlikely), don't land, just eject and hope the techs don't find you.
In the 90's this movie passo até the Brazilian television every week at night...iwas a kid and dreming a Lot with the Phantom's

Great review Sir!
A little bit info on this movie, (Great one!)
This movie was filmed at Ramat David airbase Israel.
Those F-4s was belonged to squadron 69th "The Hammers", since 1998 they moved to the south and their operating F-15I (It's an F-15E with homemade modifications).
Those F-16s was belonged to squadron 110th "Knights of The North", The squadron was deactivated in 2017.
When I was a kid I saw Top Gun before I saw these and I just remember being so very disappointed with them compared to Top Gun. That kind of disappointment stays with you!
