I half expected Leslie Nielsen to open the cockpit door and say, "I just want to tell you both 'good luck'. We're all counting on you."
Would've been awesome to splice one of those clips in :)
and don't call me Shirley LOL
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
perfect
Surely , you can't be serious .
“Wait wait wait wait. Thaaaatt... is a helicopter stick.” 😂😂😂
Could you imagine move her being on sit and be like dude that’s a helicopter stick what are you doingMover could definitely improve some of these movies by consulting of them
@@2atalkandpolitics422 the irony is .. basically any military pilot would point out theese things.. there is plenty military consultants paid to point out this stuff.. yet they continuously keep ignoring them when it fits the director/producer.. They would ignore Mover too based on what they been doing until now...
@@sparrowlt ya whatever sell I guess. At least top gun and top gun maverick had advisors but of course of had to be Hollywood ed
20:53 Why do I get the feeling if Mover was ever on a plane with an out of action flight crew, he would let some dentist with a Cessna try to land while he sits in the background shouting "Flaps! You suck at this!"
Be more fun that way
F117 sorry we didn't know it was invisible, hello from Serbia😂
Umm I think most military pilots would be sitting back yelling at the terrorist or flight crew for being stupid ... "You should shoot that guy dumbass! ". I mean if your a bad guy and somehow are able to hijack a plane like a moron , probably run around and ask if anyone else can fly , ask all the passengers, if you find a passenger that can shoot them so that your people are more compliant knowing no one else can flu
lol
Thanks to Mover, no matter where it is, every time I see an F-14 I just instinctively say "TOMCAT!" in my head.
The need for speed!
I was wondering when you'd review this movie. It was the last thing VF-84 did before they were disbanded. The worst thing I could find wrong with the movie was putting all those men in a regular F-117, because all that room's taken up with engines and electronics. I mean, where did the engines go?! They'd have to build an F-117 about two or three times larger to put that troop compartment in there.
Helluva point, little empty space back there! Love the Jolly Rogers squad!
@@koori3085 There's also something else they haven't thought of. The undercarriage is stored where they're sitting as well.
@@white-dragon4424 True, and the avionics bank that's as big as a fridge or three. Gotta be some gas bags too. Was part of the overall IR profile I believe.
Fear the bones!
I like it when Mover gets excited when they use good comms..😂😂😂😂
You should review " The bridges at Toko-Rih" next. Movie was made in 1954 und shows an aircraft carrier with wooden decks, skyraiders and F9 Panther. You also have a search and rescue scene and emergency landing. It's worth a look.
The other one I’d recommend is “The Hunters” with Robert Mitchum. Really good sequences of F86s and MiG-15s, and air to air combat.
Did anyone notice the sign while he was "crash" landing that said "learn to fly" while taking out those other aircraft?
Yes, good placement....
7:09 - I can say with 100% certainty that there is a hatch that is on the bottom of 47’s that allows access to the inside of the plane. It may not be in the exact place depicted in the movie but it does exist. If you ever watch the pilots on the 747 DreamLifter they use it regularly. It’s there to allow pilots and crew to get on and off the plane if no air stairs are available. The VC-25 and E-4B variants are the only 47’s I’m aware of that have their own air stairs, the E-4 isn’t a proper air stair like you think of or see on AF1, it’s a much shorter set of stairs that leads to the sealed cargo door setup they use to enter the E-4.
I know this information to be accurate because I have family who worked on these aircraft.
The Tomcat has the best movie presence of all fighters. Ever. The F22 just looks sleek, but I can't imagine the F22 doing the missile flash move showing off its payload. Since you can't see its payload.
good spot on the Heli Collective @ 7:30 i thought you might have missed that.
and you jumped ahead slightly on something else critical @ 5:50 you clipped off a very important message, the Doppler Imaging System that supposedly revealed the airflow around the aircraft and revealed the 'sweet spot' of laminar airflow. if you go back and review it, you will see that its also revealing the turbulence and even the wingtip vortices, it goes down in some places revealing parasitic drag.
and yes, that is a actual hatch on the 747, and it is the external hatch into the avionics bay, but hollywood grossley oversized that avionics bay, its not even 1/4 the size it really is in actuality. Airforce One with Harrison Ford, that avionics bay is FAR MORE realistic in size.
THIS: www.billzilla.org/747avionicsbay.jpg
is the real avionics bay, and yes, can be accessed from internal the aircraft in the first class nose cabin right by the #1 left side door. or, externally just aft and port of the nose wheel box, which is what they were targeting as the hatch @ 7:04
@25:00 they were shooting a Sparrow, they said it multiple times, and even when the morse code was starting his RIO shouted out, hey GO COLD ON THE SPARROW.
Afterburner in an F-117? 🤔 Also that’s the roomiest F-117 ever, more space than a Blackhawk.
I enjoyed this movie and saw it in the cinema way back when.
also at 11:51 when the pilot bailed the rest of the people in the stealth aircraft just died from the pilot bailing🤣😂😎👍 good job!
I enjoyed this! Man the Navy and USAF were really gracious, Live armed Tomcats and a real F-117 in some of the scenes, and man I don’t care what anyone says i LOVE the F-117! How’d Segal get this much time with a fairly newly declassified stealth fighter bomber?
Remember, he just came off the massive success that was Under Siege. Movies like that do big numbers in recruitment drives, just like Top Gun, Navy Seals, and Saving Private Ryan.
Stealth TARDIS that doesn't need fuel. Award winning concept.
The Black dude from The Terminator, Steven Seagal, John Leguizamo, Haley Berry, some cool actors in this movie.
You tread lightly Mover…. Steven Seagal is my childhood hero.
23:42 - “Dump every light you can find on that runway!”
He just did all the TASK for the private check ride on short final. I'm glad the FA could read the spaghetti chart for approach speeds.
I remember going to theaters are being shocked they killed Steve in the fist 20 minutes.
Airspeed (1999) would be a cool movie to look at. Like this one, it involves depressurization, they try to do a midair passenger transfer, and someone with no experience has to land the plane with help from ATC. I'm curious to see what your thoughts are about its realism.
2:05 that explosion _moved_ Mover
"pilots say "im a pilot""
Only when at local drinking establishments within earshot of groundcrew.
It's funny, because I fly out of Frederick Municipal Airport, which is very close to Dulles.
One of the few ones where visors down, it’s overcast but still 😂
This is why you should play DCS. If both pilots are killed. A gamer will save the day. 😎
Most dramatic Aviation movie of all the time and connection part of F117 And B747 Was Just a fiction!
F-14s with Jolly Rogers on the tail fins. They got it right there.
@C.W.Lemoine I don't know if you were aware of this, but even with an ad blocker, Google has seen fit to fill this video with a bunch of unskippable ads that really makes it difficult to enjoy it.
Can you do the movie "BAT*21" with Gene Hackman? 😆
Also
"Flight of the Intruder"
And
"DARYL" the robotic kid that steals the SR-71 😆
I grew up watching these as a kid.
So, Mover. I'm guessing the left bank to show the underside of the aircraft of the tomcat was to show the pilot of the aircraft that was intercepted they are armed? Is this a real procedure?
Dulles does have a Runway 1L. The North part makes no sense since it's implied in the number. ... hollywood
3:42 Kim jong hair cut before it was in style 😆
best😂”so NO”😂
That's clearly the Tardis. Bigger on the inside than the outside.
The remora pilot just ejects somewhere over the Atlantic, is there hope he could be recovered ?
My god this has to be a first! Mover is not laying it on thick today!
When I recommended it I for sure thought he would! Not gonna lie mildly dissapointed haha I knew he'd like the tomcats though haha
Using general aviation aircraft for speedbrakes? Landing at Frederick? I missed AOPA covering this...
So lemme get this straight: Apparently someone at DARPA/NASA thought the F-117 was the best basis for an aircraft to dock and connect to a bomber or other aircraft at altitude? ...Why? Unless you were using this to exclusively resupply/recrew a B-2, it's pointless for it to be an F-117. Also, I'm even more impressed that they managed to get that F-117 airborne without any engines, and a fuel tank about the size of a Honda Civic, judging from how roomy the interior is. And, apparently when faced with turbulence, a hijacker's first thought is, "Mohammad! The Americans are using a stealth fighter to dock with us to sneak onto the plane!" Which is... a stretch, albeit a very convenient one.
5.2G in straight and level flight? Ouch.
"It's not space 🤣🤣🤣"
As a F-117crew chief, 803 "Unexpected Guest" ; I say..."NO NO NO NO NO NO.'..
Uh I dunno Mover, I definitely had a few holes that made me desce......... *coughs* never mind.
24:10 It's nice to see Hollywood pull the old switcheroo on what does and doesn't explode. Normally it's the classic Bullet + Gas Tank = Mushroom cloud. Now we get Jet engine and wing o' fuel hits a bunch of private planes ........ burns like a wick.
24:25 Its ok.. its a yellow cub after all...
Halle Berry
Yeah, we can all agree on that one....
@ 3:28 I forgot "Hollywood" from Top Gun was in this cinematic masterpiece
"halle berry is alive and that is all that matters" 🤣
Figures the F-14s would be the only accurate part of the movie. Even after being demoted to side role, Tomcats still steal the show! This is a good review. Thanks Mover!
They sure were beautiful aircraft, especially when wearing the skull and crossbones of the Jolly Rogers.
And the Oscar for the Best Supporting Actor goes to...The TOMCATS!.!
TOMCATS!
Still the best!
I just saw the movie and enjoyed it very much. In the end roll credits there are the names of 3 “Tomcat Advisors”
Lmao! "The planes been hijacked. Quick, scramble the carrier!"
High speed run.. 26 knots
I used to laugh when I was on the Ranger and they came on the 1mc and sadi brace for a high speed run
The carrier has planes. The closer the carrier is the more support it can give.
plot twist: it was a SHIELD helicarrier
We're too close for carriers switching to destroyers
"God why am I doing this?" Mover: "Every Flight"
oh poor mover 1:33
Y ?
It's Stealth
"You're running over the ILS antenna... approach lights." My mind went to the announcer in Airplane. "Flight 209, now arriving at Gate 8... Gate 9... Gate 10."
Best part is Steven Segal getting sucked out of the C/F-117.
So to speak, sir.
Going down in a free fall
Saw it in the theater, Seagal was on the poster and the trailers. When he died...I was like..."This movie just got interesting"
To tall😂
The first time I saw this movie when it came out I said the same thing Mopar Mac... I was so happy that they smoked him right outta the gate...
According to "74 Gear" That hatch under the nose of the 747, is surprisingly accurate.
Was just about to post a comment about that hatch as I watched the video 74 gear did about this movie a few days ago
Though he said the room is not as big as in the movie.
@@KansaSCaymanS it's not as big but the outer hatch to access the room does exist.
Lmao luv that guy!!!
@@firebythewater4477 yeah. Kelsey/74 also said he had once accessed that area.
I started laughing just by looking at Mover's face expression in the thumbnail 😆.
"Starring Halle Berry and some other people" My thoughts exactly.
No ones gonna mention Kurt Russel and his magnificent hair?
I think they should have let the hair fly the plane
It feels like Snake is back but this time, not such a badass.
No. No one.
Could you do Flight of the Intruder and Firefox?
I think Firefox is a little too sci-fi with little in the way of real life military in the movie, but certainly Flight of the Intruder.
Flight of the intruder for sure. Pretty cool flight scenes in that one. Good book too.
@@turbo-6.7l21 You'd never forget their solo attack on Sam City, that's for sure!
Loved that book as a kid ,,, will never forget Lt Jake Grafton
@@turbo-6.7l21 and some of the more realistic in hollywood.. the scene at the beginning when they launch a SA-2 at them and Grafton puts the missile in beaming (at 3 oclock) and begins droping chaff..and except for the hollywood "missile launch" and "distance to missile" the cockpit and displays are pretty accurate for the A-6
And, the best line by Mover award goes to......."that Doctor is going to be super pissed"
Loved it.....funny as.
I just wanted to say good luck; we're all counting on you.
Mine was just before this: "... Short runway, better start early." Lol
What's the reference
@@protonjones54 Watch the video? While landing a 747 on a small civil airport Kurt Russell takes out a dozen or so small Cessna aircraft and as he does Mover exclaims " that doctor is going to be super pissed" I chuckle each time I watch it......that should catch you up🤔
The 747 is 200 Series but with what looks like a 400 series cockpit, if you look close at the nose gear doors it says "CK" on them and the tail code is N707CK, This is Connie Kalitta's plane from American International Airways now Kalitta Air.
Does that mean Halle Berry was really Cha Cha Muldowny?👍😳😉🙃
@@Flipper-mno13 Connie doesn't like the way he is portrayed in that movie, so we don't bring it up to him.
Seeing as that 747 was leased from Kalitta Air for the making of this movie
Also the 747 from Air Force One, was also from Kalitta Air, only that being a 747-100SF.
The hatch exists, not in that location exactly, but close enough.
That is a mechanic's hatch, and you can actually get inside the aircraft.
"They needed someone to advise them". Yyyeah, I reckon even if they did have a military advisor, they just ignored his advice whenever it was convenient to the plot, like it's usually the case with movies 😀
I'm reminded of a story from Lindybeige about a military advisor being asked one question during a medieval movie's filming, regarding how an infantryman would hold a battle standard. The answer apparently being pointing at it and saying "That's a cavalry standard."
they did had a military adviser.. same as most of theese movie.. its just that they decide to ignore then mostly..
Got to do Firefox Clint Eastwood 👍
Or Blue Thunder.
@@news_internationale2035 love blue thunder pretty decent film saw it again a few days ago for the first time in years.
When the F-14 pilot talks about the CRM-115 that’s actually a play on Dr. Strangelove where the B-52 had a CRM-114
The actor who played the older bad guy in this film, David Suchet, also played the main bad guy Col. Akir Nakesh in Iron Eagle.
Both roles are an absolute waste of his talent but that's Hollywood
Isnt he also Poirot??
@@glaabaglooba Exactement!
@Phil Collins No but yes.. thats the problem when Hollywood "typecast" you in a certain role and then you only got that types of roles or get rejected for others because the producers say "i like you but i only see this role in you" ..
Thats what happent to Mark Hamill who wouldnt get roles because producers said "yeah but i really dont want Luke Skywalker in my movie" ..its not that you only get that type of role.. is than even when you are offered another the casting staff avoids you because they think the audience will bee too "distracted" thinking in your other roles.. for example Ben Mendelsohn or Burn Gorman who only get roles of bad guys
Typecast heroes.
"Steven Seagal's greatest movie".
Sir, Under Siege would like a word.
I concur with this message. Under Seige is epic! It even has an F/A-18 scene.
Yea but the F-18 just shot down!
The joke is; he dies unexpectedly.
"Damn duck and rabbit, Saturday morning cartoons. I love em, little fuckin shrimp cowboys!" Tommy Lee Jones after the 16" is fired! Hilarious!
John Leguizamo talking about Steven Seagal and this movie is priceless.
Where does he do that?
@@gabravo2005 it was on a couple shows but Arsenio Hall was the one I saw.
I remember seeing that. Apparently ol' Steve was a bit of a prick lol.
@@AJ_Evo wasnt this the movie where Steve arrived at a rehersal acting too serious in military mode and one of the other actors began to laught and Steve attacked him inmovilizing him on the spot?
@@sparrowlt That was John Leguizamo -- Seagal said, "Everything I say is law." and John snidely scoffed, and Steven quickly pinned him against the wall in an elbow choke, and John recalls that he was so winded all he could get out was a wheezy, "Why?..... Why?" and so he's hated Seagal ever since. It's both hilarious and also kind of a bada$$ story.
They knew you were a Tomcat fan and were like "We gotta impress Mover"
David Suchet in the 'Iron Eagle' villain phase of his career
Inspector Poirots's secret double life. 😂
How well his twin brother turned out...
Poor Poirot guess the private detective worked had dried up in Europe then.
Didn't know the name of that movie but when you said 'Best Steven Segal movie' I thought 'the one with the f117 where he dies just like that at the beginning' 🤣
"Yup...everybody's dead" 😂🤣you should put that on a mover ruins movies t-shirt!
My favorite part of this movie was Seagall's unexpected death. I was SO over him by the time this movie came out, but then it turned into a Kurt Russell movie and I was pleasantly surprised.
Same. Segal was such an asshat, having him out of the way made for a great movie. Also, see Leguizamo's interviews about the filming.
@@djmohab2 I can fully see the producers having him on board for the entire film, but after half a day of shooting with him they just went "Hey...hey, um, how'd you like to be the, yeah, the biggest hero in the film?"
Yeah and it killed the box office for the film following the first week as a result via losing Seagal.
Just noticed they got the order to fire came on the CRM-115 - must be an upgrade from the CRM-114 used in Doctor Strangelove or: How I Stopped Worrying and Learn to Love the Bomb
Loved this movie. Great review. Nice to have Tomcat scenes with the Aim 54 equipped. Don't know Morris code, dang it! ;p And FYI, yes the 1994-96 Caprice 9C1 Police Package had the LT1 Corvette motor, I had one, they are Fast!
This is some good shit. Please do EVERY movie that has an airplane in it. If you're a masochist, start with the recent Shadow in the Cloud.
He might have fun with the "Turbulence" finale, though I think his brain could implode 😅
"wait wait wait...... Yep.. that's a helicopter stick.. 😂😂
In my 16 years as a fight attendant with UAL it was constantly drilled into our heads that in the event of a rapid decompression you; sweep the nearest mask to your face, sit down and hold on. Because the aircraft is going to descend to a breathable altitude rapidly. There is an extra mask in each row for two reasons. 1, for a lap child and 2, for a cabin crew to grab. Don't be surprised about what a flight attendant knows. Pre 9/11 I spent a lot of time in the cockpit with the pilots and I about 5 times the hours as Kurt Russel in the movie. Could I land one, not unless God intervened. I could work the radios and knew the control inputs but I'm sure i would crash trying to land unless it was a Cat 3 aircraft with working computers. I once rode the cockpit jumpseat in 737-300 from IND to ORD on a ferry flight and never saw the runway until we were down. When I asked the Captain how he did that he said "the computer landed not me."
Kurt Russel is actually a pilot back from 2016, and he actually asked the tower if they had anything painted in the sky, he actually saw ufo’s the Phoenix lights. Just call him Jack O’Neill 😎✅
Fun fact: We watched this movie in the theaters when I was very young and it even made me confused when the Nighthawk started to break apart.
Mover takes control of the plane ...
Halle Berry rushes in: "Are you a pilot?"
Mover thinks to himself: "Hmmm, if I say no, maybe she'll read to me." 🤣
I forgot about this movie. For its time I liked it a lot
🤣🤣🤣🤣 best reaction video of all, 《That's a helicopter stick..... That's a helicopter collective 》 I'm flipped 🤣🤣
I love the F-14’s scene. Great movie!
I love Craig Ferguson's story about how Russel got him to try aviation to get over his fear of flying. He told Craig "Behind your fear, Craig...is you" but it was from Kurt russel so it was like he was living out a movie lol.
Alrigh! Alright Mover i give up on you dropping a hot pickle on Flight of the Intruder.
Think you would be able to drop one on a episode of Swat Cats!!!
Gotta love the Jolly Rogers with those all black tails! TOMCATS!
That center electric service door is present on the 747, yes, although that space is no way that big to have room for all that persons on there. This part is classic Hollywood
Still waiting on that text tone of mover saying TOMCATS!!
“I am surprised he knows how to work the seat” priceless.
Thank you Mover for your review.
I had a feeling you'd approve of the parts with the Tomcats. I always had a feeling that was the part they got mostly correct.
5:25 YMCA?
😂 I can't unhear that now. 😂
My Mom wanted to see this movie so bad when it came out because she loved Steven Seagal and got upset when he was killed off! The first time the Mythbusters did the decompression thing it didn't work but they realized they didn't account for the air moving over the plane at speed AND altitude, the second time they tryed it was plausible.
A couple of things about the F-117. The engine powering the Nighthawk is called the F1D2. It is the same engine used on the FA/18 legacy Hornets, the A-D models. However, the F1D2 has no afterburner because it would not fit into the F-117. (It is the reason that the ordinance and fuel load were limited). So theAB scene is bogus.
Secondly, the area of the fuselage that held the special forces is far to small to accommodate more than one or two(and it would be tight) people unless you ommited the engines, lol. Also the aft fuselage houses the classified ducting that diffuses and reduces the heat signature.
The F-14's featured were from VF-84 out of NAS Oceana, Virginia. The squadron sent a four plane detachment to NAS Key West, where the film's aireal sequences were filmed out of. The leased 747 was also based at NAS Key West during the filming over the gulf of Mexico. The Tomcats were F-14 D’s.
22:08 Didn't know that Mover flew for Ryanair
16:15 that is the correct F-14B ACM panel well a movie recreation of it but the switch labels and placement are accurate so this would be a B model with a sparrowhawk HUD
16:17 that diamond appears to be an ACM mode, something like WACQ rather than a SEAM
granted, then then try to use a sidewinder tone seconds later...
Both SEAL tean six and Delta tested the rapid decompression, and found bullet holes don't make any significant impact on the aircraft.
Hey, I never realized Whip Hubley (Sgt Baker) was in this movie -- "Hollywood" from Top Gun.
I knew he looked familiar!
He was Kurt Russell's brother in law also a tombstone connection with Val Kilmer too.
"Careful, I'm a pilot...and I only care about me!"
"Maybe...but No" Great t-shirt, especially if you are meeting a girl you really don't like.
They were so pleased that they got the “gear” handle right that they did it twice !!!!
“That doctor’s gonna be pissed” - Did he mash a V-tailed Bonanza ? I missed that !
I lost it at, “I guess if you’re on a short runway, you’d better start early” !!!!
Good one. Flight of the Intruder next?
