Great video, love your content! How about instead of putting all the different foods in the mylar bag together, separating them all in different non-sealed sandwich bags, and then putting them in the long-term food storage container or mylar? That way you could portion out single servings of everything to go on a person's plate.
I forgot to mention on the other vid that I won’t be sending a family Christmas card, my family hasn’t done cards in years. As for my face, well, if I ever get my channel going you can “try” to see mine there! 😛 I couldn’t tell if your big bag had a “ziplock” closure at the top, if it does, then reconstituting will be easier. As I’ve learned from John-in-Bibs, pour Hot water in the bag, close it for 2 minutes, open and stir the items that can be stirred, add more Hot water if needed, and close it for another 2 minutes. It should all be rehydrated after the 2nd time.. if not or more water was needed instead of 2 minutes close for 3 minutes on the 2nd round. The bag steams everything while rehydrating and warms it all up. I don’t know how it will work on an “everything” bag though. Normally John packages each item in a smaller Mylar bag before putting it all in a larger one, then reconstitutes each one separately. I hope you put in enough O2 absorbers! One 300-500cc isn’t enough for such a large bag, probably should be 3 or more.
Thank you for doing this FD Thanksgiving comparison. So good to know. We were invited to Thanksgiving this year, but, I planned to have my husband smoke a turkey and I will be FD'ing it... Happy Thanksgiving....God bless you all...Sherri-Payette Idaho
Hi, great video. I wonder if you did the corn casserole on a rack over a low steaming/boiling water but covered so the steam can penetrate the food. I also wonder if you used broth heated up over the turkey if that would help. The snow is beautiful and I love to see your scenery. Thank you
Went to Fairbanks in 2020. So much snow, the moose had a tough time walking through. These were adults maybe 18 to 20 hands ( each hand 4 inches 18x4= 72
I have noticed that you seem to have an order in the way you place your trays in "Vanilla Ice". Do you have a specific order for you placement and if so how/why? What is your order of operation? If you don't . . . opps sorry . . . nevermind. Thanks
@@TeachLongbeard my bottom shelf takes the longest to freeze dry… I think it’s a heat distribution thing…. So I always try and put my least heavy or dense trays on the bottom, more full trays on the top. Not sure if all freeze dryers are like that but I’ve noticed it with mine so that’s just how I do it to make it easier.
What will you think of next!? You need to send this to the international space station so our astronaut hero’s can have a delicious, yet crunchy, thanksgiving meal prepared from the loving hands of Freeze Dry Society ❤️
I've had my freeze dryer for one month and 4 days. I've been watching your videos for weeks and I still don't know what your name is! Maybe you can start off each video with your name and the name of the channel.....🥶
You truly are the reigning Queen of freeze drying!
Your videos are always fun and informative!!
Have a Happy Thanksgiving!!!
You might want to try rehydrating this type of food with a bamboo steamer.
@@chrismiller302 good idea I actually bought one but haven’t been using it 😆😆

Great idea! Reconstituted on the plate.
@@debbietanner9172 surprised it actually worked for the most part haha
The little snowflake can be used for making window cookies with one of the larger snowflake cutters
Could you steam it?
@@patzumach3425 I bet so - someone suggested using a bamboo steamer

I think it would’ve been good if you would’ve put it all together in a jar and did it like a casserole how you did with the biscuits and gravy
