    When powdering in the blender, place a piece of plastic wrap over top then apply lid. Keeps powder fog from spraying out the sides of lid.

    Refrigerate your broth then skim the fat. It makes freeze drying last longer. It is not hard to take a few hours longer.

    I keep freeze dried broth in my pantry and love to throw it in foods when I cook. It adds so much flavor and nutrients! Sometimes I cool and remove fat, sometimes I use a fat separator if I need to just get on with it.

    I haven't seen marrow bones at Sam's, need to look better...
    I have done fd garlic powder and dice. Will need to try whole cloves.
    Try using a ladle to transfer to the molds. Maybe chilling the broth to harden and remove the fat, warm slightly to pour and then freeze. Maybe on one batch, weigh all the bone broth powder, then measure in cups, convert to tbs and that should give you a better idea, like maybe 1 tbs per cup and that is easier than weighing such a small amount. Love the video!

    A suggestion for you - get one of those fat separator thingies from the "zon = OXO makes one and it works beautifully. I use mine all the time when making gravy, etc. Also, if you can sneak a couple of those carrots away from your child, take the used up vegetables - pop them into your blender and whirl them up real good. You could then put them in your silicone trays and either just freeze and bag them to keep in your freezer or I guess freeze dry them (I don't have a freeze dryer so don't know how well they will come out). I use frozen vegetable cubes from all my broths to add to soups, stews, etc. Adds nice flavor. You could add tomatoes to the blender if you want a tomato flavor in them - spices - let your imagination go wild, lol. Have fun!

    Well certainly a plus for making the bone broth yourself was having the cooked carrots your child loves afterwards! Reminds me of the chicken my mom used to make in stone wear with carrots, yum!
    How about pizza made with sour dough crust? Everything made from scratch, including tomato sauce from tomatoes and making your own cheese you shred? You probably already make this, but never made broth? Not even from leftover rotisserie chicken 🤔? My mommy makes soup from bones all the time.
    I think you’d make a good stone soup!
    The focaccia bread short looked like you simply “fingered” regular sour dough, was this correct or was there a process not shared there?
    So the person who guessed bone broth in the short was correct? Except for not saying “beef” bone broth? Looks great! I’m getting hungry..
    The HR sale is always the same, at least it looks the same as the last couple years. They change the amounts sometimes but never give more than $500 off the medium. 3-4 times per year maybe. The downside to the 5 shelf is you can’t overload your trays. The size of the drum is the same, they just cram more shelves into the same space. It is more efficient for the space I suppose. Instead of 2 1/2 pounds per tray, you’re limited to 2 pounds per tray, reducing the dry time.

      @@MisterEMystery my kiddo did love the carrots ❤️ sourdough pizza would be so good that’s something I haven’t tried yet! Love that idea -
      The focaccia is similar to regular bread, but you add honey and olive oil…. And it’s a bit more of a wet dough than typical. But you just let it rise overnight then form the dimples in your pan. It’s super easy and turns out great

    If you chill your broth overnight, the fat comes off in a single piece.

      @@DIYfreezedry I do it for chicken broth all the time. The Schmaltz is FABULOUS for hash browns. Beef Tallow is good for hash browns or rösti.
