I got tears in my eyes watching you and your mom planning and shopping together. My mom died 3 years ago and I sooo wish she was still here with me for this kind of fun we always had together. Continue to enjoy and support each other
I am right there with you. My mom died many years ago. We were the holiday duo in our family who enjoyed the planning, decorating and cooking. She died on October 3rd and we were already discussing our Thanksgiving and Christmas ideas. Some years hit harder. I just remember she is still with me and that gives me comfort. We were both lucky enough to have such wonderful moms, or we wouldn’t miss them so much. Sending a cosmic hug and prayers for a peaceful heart. Cheers, Valerie in Colorado 🏔
I totally understand. It's been 9 yrs since My Mom passed. She loved the Holidays.. We cooked and shopped together.. Oh how much I Miss all of this! Sending Hugs
I want to say that it's such a gift to have your parents alive and to be able to work together on meals and gardens! I lost my dad when he was 59 (I was 25) and lost my mom when she was 63 (I was 36). I would love to be able to pick up the phone and talk with them again. Wishing you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving!
I feel this! My dad was 61 (me, 23), and mom was 67 (me 35). And that was over 25 years ago. I can't even imagine what it would be like to have my parents with me for the holidays. I'm not sure how I would even explain today's world to them. Mom would've loved RUclips!
Becky, if you add ice cubes into your orchid, it.will die with time. As an orchid grower, I recommend you to add water and orchid food from time to time. Make sure there is enough air circulation for the roots.
Yes! I was coming to say this (even though I only have 2 orchids). Remember that orchids are tropical plants, so ice cubes do not make them happy. The whole ice cube thing is just a marketing scheme to make orchid care “seem” easy to people who think it is not.
yes! the ice cube method is a marketing ploy! it makes me so sad seeing people follow those directions and then wonder why it doesn't thrive. theres some good YT channels like orchid girl etc to get proper care tips
I tear up every time I see you work together as mom and daughter. I have gone through breast cancer without my mom. I am surviving so far. I am blessed and blessed to be able to watch your holiday preparations. Thank you so much. Blessings to you and your families.
Susan, you are so thoughtful! It is so refreshing to see that you think of your children's in-laws and desires to create their own traditions with their own children. Too many parents force their children to choose between them and their in-laws and think their children are selfish when they want to create their own traditions.
I didn’t post on your shopping video, but have thought of it a few times since, so wanted to post this time. Your mom blessed my heart when she talked of a height adjustment table for quilt sandwiching. If you are not a quilter, that would have not been an understandable statement. But she was speaking my language! I love your channel and am trying to learn how to cook cleaner and better (at 65 years of age), but quilting is my passion. So my ears perked even more than normal. I have heard you mention that you (Becky) do some quilting too! Someday, you can show some of YOUR quilts. ☺️😘
Such a beautiful family, I wish I had this, it’s so sweet to watch you and your mom working together to make a wonderful family holiday dinner.. You’re all so blessed.. ❤️🙏🏼❤️
I love your mother/daughter relationship. You have brought me many smiles. Reminds me so much of mine with my mother. Miss her so much! Thank you for sorta helping me relive my holiday cooking with my mother.❤️
Love these! As the youngest of five, whose mom passed ten years ago when I was 47 years old, my holidays are spent at work or alone. Treasure, treasure, treasure these memories!
I love watching you and mom in the kitchen together. She is the coolest mom ever, and she is just so darn cute not to mention how knowledgeable she is, keep the mom videos coming. I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL
A “countdown” timetable would probably really help my husbands worrisome soul. Maybe I should do that for him. I do it all in my head on the fly because that’s how my brain works, but seems to really stress him out, poor thing. 😊
I am making your spatchcock turkey tomorrow so I can turn carcass into turkey broth since our stores do not have any, we will turn this turkey into sandwich meat.
That quilt is absolutely beautiful. I'm a quilter, too, and I love to see what other quilters have made. I just love watching you and your mom together. Enjoy each other since time goes by way too fast.
I love all of our Becky's videos. I wait in anticipation for every single one but especially the ones with mum Susan in them. Mother daughter love personified ❤
We used to make a punch for our Christmas parties at church that was similar to the one you're making, I always froze the cranberries as an extra way to keep the punch cold and not dilute the punch.
@ Acre Homestead Hello Becky, in Germany, rhubarb is only harvested until June 24th (St. John's Day), firstly because the oxalic acid in rhubarb increases, which binds the calcium in the body and secondly because the oxalic acid is harmful to the kidneys and secondly because the plant is perennial and then begins a second growth phase, the plant simply needs this resting phase to regenerate after the harvest. This is why in Germany rhubarb, like white asparagus, is never harvested for longer than 24 June.
Becky and Susan, I celebrate the weekend before with my family the weekend before also for the same reason. Some of my kids visit family out of town over the holidays and some stay in town and see the in-laws. I love watching you and mom shop, cook and entertain. I hope you had a fabulous Thanksgiving together.
It's a joy to behold watching you both shop and prep together for your family gatherings, yum peanut cake sounds divine. i too like Rhubarb. can not wait to see all the meal prep. love to all xxx
It is so beautiful and amazing to hear your viewers talk about their parents l love to watch you and mom to my mother passed away 1980 i was 20 years old and I had 3 kids at the time and I had 3 more kids that she didn't get to enjoy love yall ❤❤❤❤
Hi Becky and Susan, I've been waiting for this Thanksgiving shopping and prep video for ages. I love watching the two of you interact. I live in South Africa and we don't celebrate Thanksgiving, but you've inspired me, so I'll be celebrating with my family on Sunday. Excited to watch the next video where you prep for your celebration.
About 50 years ago I worked at the main office of one of our bank downtown and I rode the bus to and from work. The bank gave all the employees a turkey for Thanksgiving and Christmas. So there I was going home one evening with a 20lb frozen turkey sitting on my lap. Boy that turkey was cold 😂😂😂😂😂😂
This is my favorite content all year! It gets me excited about Thanksgiving. I used to get bummed bc of my food allergies but you two have given me such great ideas!
Girls grenadine is cherry like a cherry syrup. You’ll find it in the liquor department. It used to be put in a drink 7-Up drinks for kids and it was called a Shirley Temple grenadine is cherry maraschino cherry that might help I’m 73 so I’ve been around Grenadine was popular, ha ha good luck😊
Watching you has been my new holiday tradition since 2020, when I found your channel. It was oddly comforting having you talk to us through your video when I was alone that entire year. After the world got back to usual & your mom started joining you, I just kept virtually tagging along. I shared your channel with friends & co-workers, because you are just such a relatable person. We’ll still text/chat about you; asking “did you see what Becky did…”. I love how you & your channel have progressed & your family is also a joy to watch. Wishing you all a wonderful Thanksgiving 🥰
You have encouraged me so much when it comes to cooking. Always love to cook but watching you and your mom is just so sweet. My mom has Parkinson's has been living with it for 10 years. Not alot of help but just knowing she is still here means more than anything. I talk all the time about my friend Becky, and the things I have learned from you and your mom about prepping for the event.
As others have said, I so enjoy the videos you do with your Mom! That is precious time together! Her succulents look gorgeous! I was killing mine off indoors so decided to just plant them out in the ground so I wouldn’t have to watch them die! Instead, they started thriving and have self-propagated to the extent that I now have them growing well in 3 different beds! I live in the PDX area as well, and they never need any extra care!
I love these videos that you and your mom do each Thanksgiving. I like that your mom does the countdown thing, that's a great idea to help stay on track. I do take and leave myself notes, if not I'd forget something.
Becky and Your Momma I love watching You work Together!!! It's Wonderful.. I Miss All of This with my Mom.. She passed over 9 yrs ago! Thanks for sharing.. I Love watching All Your Videos! Happy Thanksgiving to You and Your Loved Ones!!
👋 orchids are tropical plants please don't water with ice! If it has a clear pot inside the pretty white one, just take that one out about once a week to 10 days. And you can water it 2 ways just use your fossette and make sure you don't water the crown (or the middle and the leaves) but all around tell the roots turn from silver to green and the bark is wet. Or you can take that same inside pot and bowl and fill it with water tell the pot is mostly submerged and let it sit tell it stop bubbling. Both ways make sure all exercises water has drained out and then just pop it back in the pretty pot. Oh, and you'll need an orchid fertilizer, too. If you do the 2nd watering method, you can add the fertilizer to the water while you water it. Then it'll rebloom for you eventually 😊
I’ve always since my kids were little and they’re in their 40s now. I would use the mandolin and slice up the sweet potatoes. Do the same with cored peeled apples and then layer them in a casserole dish like scalloped potatoes, but do a layer of sweet potatoes, layer of apples, sprinkle and pecans brown sugar top it with butter cook it in the oven. My kids loved it and still do.
Although I only cook for 2 now, I so very much enjoy your large family experiences!! Wishing you joy and success for your holiday!! Looking forward to the bird shaped bread!!
My Moms name was/is Joan and I make her stuffing every turkey meal too. I love your mom she reminds me of my kindergarten teacher. She is wonderful. I hope you and your family have a wonderful day and enjoy all the relatives.
Another great video! I was looking forward to the haul after your shopping trip, so thank you for that. I always enjoy the chitter chatter between you and your Mom. Susan your quilt is gorgeous! Looking forward to the day of prep! These videos have gotten me even more inspired to be thinking about the products we put in our mouth ( additives, food coloring…). I have certainly changed the way I shop and I am always looking for the freshest produce when in season. Thanks for sharing your Thanksgiving menu. I can’t wait to see how everything turned out. Sending love from the East Coast! ❤ God bless!
Well, belated but.. wishing you and your families a very happy thanksgiving. In Canadawe celebrated back in October. Listening to your discussions about oven space, I have been doing Christmas (turkey) lunch for my curling club. It can be anywhere from 50 to 90 people and I have 2 standard stoves, so 8 burners and 2 ovens. I always, even at home, cook the turkey the day before. Slice it and lay it all out in a roasting tin or tins, add some stock, cover with foil and reheat the next day. I stack the pans with the dressing on top of the turkey to get as much as I can into the ovens. You may want to try it. For 2025 Thanksgiving❤️❤️
Becky, love your family doings!!! It's so much fun to watch you with your mom and dad cooking or working in the garden. FYI Orchids grow on tree branches, like moss, in the Amazon rain forest. That is their natural habitat. They receive water from mist in the air as they hang on tree branches. They don't do cold, so don't water them with ice cubes. Ice will kill the roots eventually.
Pomegranate syrup is from pomegranate seeds and grenadine syrup is from cherries. I enjoy your videos a lot. Thanks for all you do. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours
Hi Becky...if you want to keep orchids alive consider growing them in water. I have a planter with water and rocks that I use to stabilize the sticks to hold up the plant. Orchids grow on trees so they do not grow successfully in soil. They have air roots that can grow outside of the planter and then keep filling it with water weekly. You may want to rinse the roots occasionally as well to prevent mold. I purchased 6 large orichds for table decor at my sons communion and all 6 are happy and healthy and rebloom with no issue. I'm you can check out Orchid girl as well she shares tips. But they do love a window....they thrive in direct sunlight.
Thank you so much for sharing this special time with your mom. I don't live near any of my family so we miss out on this part of the holidays. It's so nice to watch you and your mom cooking and having a great time together. ❤️
I love these holiday prep videos 😊 Does Sarah get to come with her family from Oklahoma? I hope so ❤ I'm looking forward to seeing the new drink in Susan's big drink dispenser! It always looks so refreshing and delicious 🎉

You two are cute together. Nothing like being best friends with your mother/daughter!!
Your mom should have her own channel, I love hearing her speak. She sounds like a phenomenal cook and hostess.
Actually Mark and I have a channel, but it’s not cooking, it’s devotions. Find us on Be with Jesus 365. Blessings, Susan
Such a beautiful family, I wish I had this, it’s so sweet to watch you and your mom working together to make a wonderful family holiday dinner.. You’re all so blessed.. ❤️🙏🏼❤️

Your mom's meal planning, shopping, her list, pre-prepping is the best, she makes it look so easy when fully planned out!
I love your mom. You and her compliment each other well. So glad I found this channel a few weeks ago.
I love watching you and mom in the kitchen together. She is the coolest mom ever, and she is just so darn cute not to mention how knowledgeable she is, keep the mom videos coming. I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL
Holiday meal prep with your Mom is a must see. You two are adorable together. 🤗💕
Love watching you and your mom working together. ❤.
A “countdown” timetable would probably really help my husbands worrisome soul. Maybe I should do that for him. I do it all in my head on the fly because that’s how my brain works, but seems to really stress him out, poor thing. 😊
We all have different gifts and only ONE of us should be doing things on the fly 😂
My husband is the same😊
Omg yo thought the same thing! They’re soooo organized and i love it!!!
I am making your spatchcock turkey tomorrow so I can turn carcass into turkey broth since our stores do not have any, we will turn this turkey into sandwich meat.
Check out pampered chef turkey wreath !!!
Better than Boullion makes turkey bullion. It is sold on Amazon and lasts a long time in the fridge.
The sliced potatoes your Mom was talking about is hasselback.
So thankful for being able to watch you gals doing everything together. I love your mom's quilt. I make quilts to. Happy Thanksgiving friends.

No, grenadine is pomegranate juice made into a simple syrup. And yes, grenadine is in Shirley Temple drinks.
Love, Grenadine is made with pomegranate.
Such creativity and happiness!!❤❤ My family is ultra traditional with only 1 special item per year. Can't shock them too much with different dishes.😊
This is so heartwarming to watch! Full of inspiration, info and joy ❤
Watching you has been my new holiday tradition since 2020, when I found your channel. It was oddly comforting having you talk to us through your video when I was alone that entire year. You are all very generous with your time to do your festivities a week before. Not all families are so fortunate
Hi Becky and Mom ,what fun it is to watch you both plan for Thanksgiving. Sending hugs to both of you 🥰
Susan I really need to see your salt and pepper shakers they sound adorable! Hope you show them in your prep video xxx
I love your Mom!! She’s adorable ❤
Awesome haul! No ice cubes into orchid , just three tablespoons of water 💕
My dad loved chocolate cake covered in peanut butter frosting on his birthday.
Pomegranate syrup is from pomegranate seeds and grenadine syrup
is from cherries. I enjoy your videos a lot. Thanks for all you do. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours

I love these holiday prep videos 😊 Does Sarah get to come with her family from Oklahoma? I hope so ❤ I'm looking forward to seeing the new drink in Susan's big drink dispenser! It always looks so refreshing and delicious 🎉
Yay!!! Becky and her wonderful mom! ❤
