I put stuff out in the snow all the time, then cook, and/or can it later. Carcass will be fine to use.

Girl, make your turkey bone broth with your carcass! We used to put milk and such on our back porch in the winter up in Chicago while growing up. It's fine!
We ended up cancelling thanksgiving, all of us got very sick, fevers of 101. To 103.5. there was just no way. So we carved the raw turkey (on thanksgiving), I ground it up with my meat grinder, cooked it up with onions, garlic and peppers. Then I freeze dried it all! Along with the mashed potatoes.

So, my Harvest Right freeze dryer is coming tomorrow! Your videos were a big part of my decision to get one. I am pretty sure that my wife and I have watched every one of your videos. We love that you include your family. We live in Florida and have access to a lot of fruits and vegetables, so we are excited to get started.

I'd wrap something around the turkey but would definitely put it outside.
And oh the anticipation of the Christmas cards!!! 😃

Here in Ohio, I definitely use our screened in porch in the winter as a refrigerator/temporary freezer for a lot of things! Also, I keep a Pinterest DIY Chili seasoning mix in my pantry all year long 😋 It’s so easy to make a dump and go chili 😃 I do the same for Taco seasoning, and other recipe spice ingredients. Cuts down on hauling all of the spices out of the pantry each time I want to make something. I also reuse empty glass spice jars for my mixtures. Win win 🏆 🎉

I used my garage "fridge" for the carcass too...then I boiled it in a stock pot for homemade turkey stock which went into a big batch of turkey soup!!! Can't wait to see how you freeze dry the little Debbie trees. I tried it and they turned out more like sugar cookies...lol. You're the best!!!

I probably already put this in one of your videos comments, when I was cleaning up after Thanksgiving dinner, I put all the leftovers straight into the freeze dryer, beings I don't dress my vegetable salad, I put it in also. Everything turned out really good. The salad will go into a powder for v8 juice powder. Later I went through the fridge and freezer and pulled out all the leftovers from who knows what and repacked the for the freeze dryer. My freezer and fridge is empty but I can pick what I want for lunch without the worry of what or where it is 😂😂.

Make broth! My aunt in Ohio used her unheated mudroom as a refrigerator from late fall to early spring. She had a built in hip high storage cabinet and she used the top to set bowls and stuff on. If necessary she opened the windows above the cabinet.

I'm impressed what you have been doing and how adventurous you are. Keep up the wonderful content. Brooke your an inspiration. God Bless you and your family during this wonderful Christmas season.

I put food in the grill outside, just to make sure critters don't munch. We don't have much leftover turkey as we use it for ala king, turkey salad, pot pies as well as sandwiches.

Fun video. Cookie cutters, what else is a baking advent calendar going to have that’s not “giving away the store?”

I live in Southern Idaho and I get upset when it's not cold enough to put stuff on my porch especially during the holidays. I don't have a deep freezer so I really put the porch to use outside. THIS YEAR, has been incredibly warm and I don't recall it being this mild this far into the year. Usually by the middle of October I can count on my front porch freezer..so far the weather will be in the middle 40's until Christmas eve. I don't know if I should be happy since the power won't be as costly or if I should be scared for what January and February will bring 🤔!!

All 4 of my kids and all 6 of my grandkids went to my ex-wife's house while I stayed home with the flu. I know it sounds weird but we always try to make the holidays as family friendly as we can -- up to and including spend that time with each other (my ex and I). Our kids are 35, 32, 19 and 16 so it is a full house.
