Very interested in the making of sour skittles
Yes! I would love to learn how to make sour skittles. The kids like them better than the regular ones but they are pricey.
Yes! Please post a video showing how you make the sour skittles! We have had our harvest right since summer and I am having fun with it. I really enjoy your videos!💛
@@aprilsmith5980 awesome I’ll get a video made soon! So glad you’re enjoying your new freeze dryer 👏 thanks for watching!
I would love to see how you make your sour skittles!
The marshmallows would make a fun neighbor gift with homemade cocoa powder, or a mug with marshmallow and a gift card for co worker, secret Santa, or teacher. Love all the candy and Alaska fronteir footage!
@@carebear8146 great idea to package it with cocoa! Totally cute gift
My Harvest Right freeze dryer was just delivered today! I can't wait to get started. I'm pretty sure I used your link, at least I did when I went to the site the first time. 🤦🤷 No gift needed. I really enjoy your videos.
@@yakarobed congratulations!!! 🎉
You’re so sweet thank you! And always happy to send something if you want to email me your mailing address, no worries either way! Have fun with it! Freezedrydiy@gmail.com
That truly was the reason I came back to Oregon, the darkness was hard. Keep your spirits up!!
Totally get it. I can see after years and years it would get very old.
I love your content.
Can we get more Holiday ideas, like drying eggnog, or making pumpkin spice mixes for lattes or similar?
Eggnog is for sure on my to - do list! Did you see when I did Pumpkin pie puree? It can totally be used for lattes, I loved it mixed in protein shakes... here's a link to that one if ya didn't see it yet ruclips.net/video/r7bU6u7J0ZY/видео.htmlsi=Xx8ukWoAo-z-bseD
I can't wait to play around with eggnog... maybe something peppermint too would be fun
Yes! I'd love to see how you make your sour skittles.
I really enjoy your videos! ❤️
Coming soon! Thanks so much!
Those Christmas marshmallows are adorable. What a great idea to market them for hot chocolate too... we never get snow here, accept on the mountains.. but it is so pretty…. It’s warming up a lot here in Australia, as we are 2 weeks away from summer !!
So weird to think about your seasons being opposite of ours! But I bet it’s so nice to be warming up 😊
Yes please
The marshmallows are so cute! I would think you could sell them for more ...and your nerd clusters looked amazing too!
Maybe I should - I always worry about pricing too high but it really needs to be worth my time.
@DIYfreezedry absolutely 💯
Love the floor skittles 😋. You are the fun mom. ❤
thank you 😂
Your videos are always so much fun and so very informative! You are making freeze drying great again!!!!
You’re so kind thank you ❤
@@DIYfreezedry I had to do some in depth searching around but I found the holiday marshmallows at Walmart!!! Thank You
I'm not sure if they would work the same as your white bins. However, teaching tree book bins in multiple colors are at Dollartree. When they have them, they are color coordinated to time of year. Light and bright in spring/summer and darker in fall/winter. 4.6" wide. Walmart has a 3 pack of easy access bins 8.5" wide.
Amazing thanks for sharing that info! We don’t have dollar tree here 😣 but I’ll check out Walmart!
@DIYfreezedry For Walmart, enter on their site as easy access plastic bins.
Some other options for Christmas gifts are freeze dried peppermint ice cream and egg nog ice cream. Nilla wafers with pudding or no bake cheese cake on top with a slice of strawberry or blueberries.
Amazing ideas those all sound wonderful!
I’m interested in how to make sour skittles. Do you mind letting me know where to find your happy light? Enjoy your channel very much.

That is a link to the same one I have, but I purchased mine used from someone who was leaving Alaska for a better deal…. I do love how big this one is.
Ther is another bag of snowmen marshmallows that you didn’t get. I bought mine yesterday and am currently freeze drying them!!!
@@heatherdplans37 ah I’m gonna grab those! Thanks!
Believe me, I won't judge you. lol Kids don't seem to care lol My kids have eaten stuff off the floor and have never gotten sick. lol I have freeze dried skittles before, but I didn't know you could layer them. That is so cool and now I know. I am getting ready to freeze dry orange juice. Thanks to you, I am confident about it...God bless you dear. And I pray that you sell all your candy.. Btw, the gummy clusters are so good. I havent done them in a while, but after watching this, I am inspired to do them again.....Sherri-Idaho
You can put waaaaay more skittles on a tray than I can - mine puff up a good bit and stick together. Never thought of the double layer with parchment! I can't do skittles on my bottom tray, but i might be able to do marshmallows there. The marshmallows are AWESOME! I got my cute Geometry tea towels yesterday. The towels are really big and so pretty!!
@@reneebeam426 oh yay!! They are my favorite 🤩 yeah they definitely stick together some but they hold their shape for me when I seperate them… the double layer works nice - I don’t get a ton of skittles on the top layer but it makes a difference
@DIYfreezedry i think mine puff up more than yours, but i do tray warm and that is probably the difference.
mesmerized by all of this candy 🍬 obsessed with all of your content and am a proud member of FREEZE DRY NATION
Thanks girrrrrl 🎉
Fry’s has Christmas nerds clusters !!!
That would be so cute!! I’ll look for those
I would love to try the marshmallows. My tray slots are so small, I dont know if it would work. I love your videos and all the good information.
Yeah some of the models with more trays have more narrow shelves - hard for the candies that expand alot 😏
Where did you get the Holiday bags ?? I am hoping to get my freestyle a week before Christmas. I would love to be able to make my grandkids some fancy freeze dried candy
Would be grateful to know how to do sour skittles. Can't find big packages of those where I live, and sometimes can't find them at all.
Yes! How to make sour skittles!?
I always put parchment paper over a marshmallow. I added my marshmallows to a mug with hot cocoa and sell them
That’s so cute! Great idea!
How do you know the temperature for different things
I just kind of play around with it…. Trial and error 😅 I always start at 150, but if something expands too much I’ll try a lower temp the next time.
I would like to know how to do the sour skittles
What size is the bag that you were able to get three marshmallows in? Mine are 4 x 5 and I can only fit 1 🤦♀️
Yes!! How do you make sour skittles!!??!! They are ridiculously expensive!!
Homemade sour Skittles?! I would love to see that. Also, can pumpkin seeds be freeze dried?
I haven’t tried the pumpkin seeds - I should have when I roasted some from my pumpkin pie pumpkins! I do feel like I remember being told seeds don’t work well…. So maybe it 🧐
Yay you found them!! 🎉
What size are your big bags? I do my skittles in two hours, so i did four batches = 16 trays yesterday 😊 i love your channel, thank you so much 😊❤❤
@@MonicaHernandez-de2yh ahhhh I should shorten my skittles runs! Thanks! The bigger bags are 5x8in with the open bottom
184 dollars.. do you say what the cost was for the candy and bags to take away for expenses
I have seen that skittles actually only need an hour to 2 hours? Have you tried them on a shorter run?
Another viewer commented she does them in 2 hours - I’m definitely gonna do that next time!
@@DIYfreezedry you could rock out so many skittles🤣
I take vitamin D daily to help supplement from working inside most of the time.
@@5cyc very smart!!
Haa Floor Skittles!!!
😂
Maybe next year, my prep room isn't ready yet
Yes that will be nice!
There is a guy that does 30 min candies… have you tried the dump n go @ 30 min?
@@ChristinaContreras-x6b no! But I should try I’ll have to look into it!
@ so I tried skittles and nerds clusters. Neither one of them worked on the 30 minutes. The skittles kind of did they were just a little tacky in the middle, but I may not have let them sit out long enough the room I’m using even though I have the door open and the ceiling fan on, it got really humid in there so I may need to add a fan that could’ve also been part of the problem ended up doing them for 2 hours on 130° and then went to bed so by the time I got up in the morning, they were perfect! Thanks again for all the time you spend on your videos💜
You found the marshmallows!!!
@@SasssyPie so happy they’re so cute!
Those marshmallows are $4 for 12 of them!
Me n my family have been thinking about moving to Alaska, how is your neighborhood? I heard anchorage is pretty ick!
Anchorage is pretty awful... if you like larger properties/land, I would recommend Palmer or Wasilla (also known collectively as the Mat-Su Valley). She lives in Eagle River which is in the middle between the Mat-Su Valley and Anchorage. I live in Wasilla myself which is about 40 minutes from Anchorage. The commute to Anchorage is easy if you don't mind driving. I commuted to Anchorage for work for years myself. Eagle River is fantastic but more expensive. Chugiak is right past Eagle River and is more pricey also.
I agree with the comment above! If you want more space (land) Palmer and Wasilla would be better. I do love Eagle River, there are so many families here, great schools too and nice neighborhoods with lots of kids (if you have younger ones) It feels like a small town, while still being close enough to anchorage for when I need things like Costco or the mall and what not! Palmer and Wasilla are further from anchorage but still have most things of what you need for everyday life. Just more spread out I think! So beautiful though. Winters are hard but honestly it wasn’t as hard to adjust to as I expected. Life kind of just goes on and the summer time is amazing 🤩 i feel like it’s such a great place to live for families and an amazing adventure. Hardest part for me is living so far away from all of our family and how expensive flights are 😅😳
