Thanks again for a comprehensive test. I appreciate your going to the extra time, effort, and expense to provide meaningful sample sizes (unlike so many other channels) under valid test conditions (unlike so many other channels 😉).
Wow ! I am totally amazed that that was all the accuracy out of that with your fancy rifles. Cumberland Outdoorsman shoots this out of his stock Remington 581 and was surprised of the results he got. He also thought it was junk but bought a new box of it and they were very accurate for him. I do believe he sights in at 40 yards.
GM Don, I bought a bunch of that Bulk blue box garbage during a sale. I'd never tried it before. Except for Thunderbolts, it's the worst 22 I've ever shot or purchased. I get more FTF with this garbage than anything. I'd guess that 10% of each box isn't properly primed. It looks pretty much like Federal is going to be sold to The Czechoslovak Group (CSG). The last hurdle is the shareholder vote. The deal includes the Federal, Remington, Speer, CCI, Hevi-Shot, and Alliant Powder brands. I haven't researched the numbers but if the new owner stops producing and selling ammo here, that's going to suck. With all the conflict in the world and ammo shortages in some of the conflict zones, my guess is this dude that owns CSG is going to focus on producing and selling to military clients. I'm bummed about the whole thing. In spite of the lousy ammo you used, you still got some good groups given the wind in the big trees behind you. Cheers from the Land of Pritzker.

Curious if cleaning the ammo with alcohol to remove the cheap lubricity and then spray them with Hornady One-Shot for a dry lube would narrow the group. You were talking about grime in you mags perhaps that is the culprit.
I think the ammo is just not consistent but I have tried that with a few different ammunitions that were dry or a thick wax. Wiped that crap off and soaked it in beeswax with no difference at all.
I shoot a lot of .22 rf benchrest 25yd in the UK and one of the most popular brands is RWS R50 but its quite expensive. We also use Lapau Centre X, but that's gone from £163.00 a thousand to £230.00 a thousand, don't know how much RF ammo is in the US.
@@kindwarf the price is getting ridiculous, and very hard to find when you want it. Especially the good stuff like your talking about. Need to post the data for each rifle separately, not combined. Different rifles do better and worse with different types of ammunition. Quit blaming just the ammo. A rifle shoots good with one type and bad with another - it all has to do with the dimensions of the barrel and the ammunition.
The point of the videos are how this ammo shoots through a expensive match barrel and a stock sporter barreled rifle. This is a good representation of 2 different rifles and how they shoot this ammunition. If it shoots like crap out of both rifles and out of everyone rifles here in the comments, I think it’s probably the ammo….
@@RimfireSS I respectfully disagree. As a manufacturing guy for decades, a sample of one is the most dangerous. In this case, it was a sample of one expensive match barrel and one stock sporter barrel. I know as a normal person it’s nigh on impossible to have multiples of each, however, multiples from different manufacturers are needed. I myself have a rifle designed for long range that doesn’t shoot one specific ammo accurately whereas my all-around rifle shoots it quite accurately. But there again, that’s only a sample of one each…. Until I can shoot that same ammo through another long range rifle I have and three other general purpose rifles I have. Then I will make my “final” judgment about that specific ammo: A. It’s good for some rifles, I just have to shoot each one and see how accurate that specific ammo is in each one. B. It’s good for specific brand/model rifle combinations due to the dimensions they are manufactured to. C. It’s really so-so in every rifle. D. It shoots accurately in this one rifle, but no others.
