Thanks for taking the time to do this, you are starting to make a believer out of me on this ammo stuff, I know that you and that 457 can make groups most any of us would be happy with. I had some of that Federal Range Pack stuff that shot pretty well out of my 457 Lilja barrel so a bought a second box, not so good from that box. Just sprang for some SK Rifle Match at $10 a box. Now if I can just talk myself into actually shooting it we will see if my 10/22s like it.
It’s all in the ammo man. You can shoot an occasional one hole group with cheap ammunition. But if you want to shoot as accurately as possible you have to spend the money man. That’s just the way it is. So, how much do you want those tiny groups? Lol
Speaking of federal i shot. some gold medal target yesterday in my cz and mark II. it was so so in the cz but, the savage really liked it! still got your mark II? if so might wanna give it a go. if you already havent…
Great shooting love the test. Though there is blazer bulk and then blazer that is packed in 50 rounds boxes. I have been told those packed in the 50round boxes are better than loosely packed.
I noticed this personally - though they were different lot numbers so obviously something changed between production runs at the factory between the 2 lots. I'm not sure that you can get the same lot numbers across different package formats.
@@SteveZ919 I think I waited 7 months for mine. And yeah, waiting sucks! But for the money there well machined, and the adjustment is absolutely awesome. I do wish he used MLOK though. But overall it’s a excellent chassis at a great price.
Before I knew anything about anything, I bought a box of auto match and really thought I was on to something, then I found CCI SV, that was a bigger improvement. Now I've learned to bite the bullet and spend a little more to get a lot more!
I hear ya. You don’t know what your missing until you shoot some good SK, Eley or RWS. The difference is incredible. And I still bitch about that when I get a flier. Lol
I use this for practice ammo in my 10/22 custom Steel Challenge rifle. It is the cleanest ammo that I have tried but has some misfire issues. Sometimes I can go 500 rounds without a misfire, then sometimes I'll get 3-5 in 500. That's why it's practice ammo.
Your Welcome, these videos are harder to edit but easier to film. I just let the ammo speak for itself. I don’t mind doing them. Actually you can only make so many videos in .22lr as far as how to videos.
I only have factory rifles a Savage and a Ruger and i shot everything i can find out of them . From $20.00 a box of 50 Eley match to $20.00 a box of 325 bulk ammo . and both guns did best with the auto match must be a good batch i found
@@robrotten8307 you'll get that from time to time. I've got a great lot of AR Tactical, I shot a different lot that is ok but not on the same level. Same with most .22. sometimes they get it right. Most times they dont
You right. They really weren’t terrible considering the Chronograph numbers. But those numbers don’t really show up on a 50 yard target. But 100 yards they sure will.
Automatch is range fodder for us, it runs just fine in our lever actions and revolvers, not quite as good in our autos...accuracy is only poor to fair, and there will be the occasional dud...but, it is cheap, and we bought a few dozen boxes, that we are still plowing through...we give it a solid B+, for the price, primarily...this is the ammo to grab when you take the kids to the range, they will smile blowing it up in mass quantities...
I bought a case last winter and have used most of it, and it seemed to shoot alright from my 20 inch Green Mountain AR-22 upper. Nothing crazy, but I could hit cans or clays at 100 yards easy enough. Tons of duds though, even through my Savage MKII, Buckmark, and a lower with a milspec trigger. I have a case of Aguila on the way now, hoping it's as good as it was 8 years ago. Any chance you'll try Aguila Interceptor or CCI Velocitor?
If you want something good to compare to all this, try the Armscor 36gr "BOLT ACTION ONLY" and see what that gets you, think I was getting 2 inches at 30 yards from a Savage MKII
@@TheSaintsAdvantage My 457 in a XLR with Timney 12 oz trigger and A Lilja 21” bbl headspaced appropriately seems to like CenterX pretty well and easily outshoots the standard bbl 457. Hey Don I've been following the channel for awhile now, how about a warning for us visually sensitive people before you pop on with that electric green stock and burn out out retinas lol. Every video that rifle is in I'm scrambling for sunglasses lol.

Could get the bolt to go all the way closed. Only ammo I’ve seen so far that does it and I’ve gone through a smorgasbord of different ammo. Runs fine in my buckmark, model 60, mk1 and 10/22
Why does that matter ? In the .22lr world that can go from $700 to over 7k. Ive seen guys with base rifles out shoot built rigs.. Just know when you start rebarreling , changing triggers , and chassis systems, the price skyrockets. My barrels alone avg $800 to $1000. As he stated , ammo is key for the .22lr world.
@tymz-r-achangin Nice response, how about looking up his rifle and the upgrades and decide for yourself what he spent. He doesn't have to disclose what he has spent , just so someone can mouth on the internet. Lol

Keep up this testing. I usually don’t get great groups with higher velocity ammo.
Only one I have ever had any luck with is SK High Velocity Match, which I will end this series with. It’s pretty damn good. And it’s cheap for SK.
You know, for some of the cheapest ammo going it shot not bad... good for a day of plinking! thx for the video, Don.

Hopefully we’ll come up with something decent. My hopes are not high with bulk .22 though. But you never know.

Beats buying a barrel and prepaying the gunsmithing work just to find the vudoo 22 action is backordered to infinity.

try finding some of the cci blazzer in the 50rd boxes. It is different than the bulk box. And has always shot better for me

I wasn’t planning on the hyper velocity as it’s not technically bulk ammo. Also not sure I want to fire that through my match rifles.
