    People poo poo .22 bulk ammo, but it gave me 1000's of hours of joy when I was a kid.
    We weren't rich but Mom and Dad always kept us kids supplied with enough ammo to shoot every can and bottle in the county.
    It taught us how to shoot, how to be safe, and we could feed ourselves when need be.

    The price you paid is less than SK Stardard Plus but the price is much closer than I would expect and think I would pay the 3 to 5 CPR more for the Standard Plus. Ammoseek has no listing for SK Magazine that I can find. Several big website sellers claim it is discontinued. As I stated on another video the first box of Auto Match I tried in my Tikka T1x provided more 1 MOA or close to 1 MOA groups than it did not. The next box may not have provided any groups close to 1 MOA after going through about 1/2 of the box. I'll try each new box in the T1x and then only shoot that box with other 22LR firearms if that box/lot number performs poorly in my T1x. I paid about $15 for box of 325 rounds of Auto Match on sale in 2023 and paid $21 at Walmart in 2022. Thank you for all your ammo testing.

    SK Mag is basically all of their rejects put into a can. What you get is wildly random so when people say it shoots great it's not to be taken seriously. About 5-6 yrs I forget who had a sale on these cans with free shipping with the disclaimer the cans were dented. I got 2 cans and seen that the dents were like someone dropped it but they were still sealed. I ordered another 30 cans as it is great semi auto bulk ammo in a sealed can. I’ve only shot one tin of SK magazine and although it preformed pretty decent in the 3 rifles used, it was the oiliest ammunition I’ve ever used. Definitely needed a cloth rag to wipe the hands after loading magazines. I thought the various SK boxed ammunition was oily until I tried this stuff which takes the amount of lube to the next level. All in all, for bulk ammunition, it was likely the best one I’ve tested in bolt rifles. I never tried it in the semi auto’s though.

    I personally love your ammo comparison and testing videos, but regarding your comment at the end that this series of videos isn't doing well, I think that you might not have chosen the right rifles to do this series with. A CZ action with Lilja barrel and expensive chassis is a rifle that the more common rimfire shooters aren't going to be able to afford, same with the Tikka with a custom chassis. Those who can afford such rifles are not going to be interested in shooting bulk ammo through them. They're probably well advanced enough in the shooting hobby to know to not rely on bulk ammo to practice for their level of accurate shooting. I think the budget bulk rimfire ammo testing and comparisons should be done with affordable rifles, not high end rifles, though stock configuration of better rifles like the CZs, Ruger Precison, Ruger American, can be in the mix.

    • @RimfireSS
      @RimfireSS  2 месяца назад +6

      @@dttrandom like I said in the video the Tikka is a stock barreled action. And one of the most affordable PRS style rifles available that’s worth a crap. And If I had a more stock rifle I would have used it. I wasn’t going to go buy another rifle to do the series. But I do get your point. I figured the Tikka being a factory barrel, trigger and action should have sufficed for a stock rifle. I think most people already know how this ammunition shoots for the most part. I wanted to show people what it shot like out of a expensive high dollar barrel and a stock one. Think I pretty much did that.

    • @RimfireSS
      @RimfireSS  2 месяца назад +2

      @@keithb.commonangler ahhh… there not repeatable in my experience. I have had the EC tuner improve the groups on my Bergara BMR but that was more of a weight thing, it just calmed down the harmonics of that thin barrel and it shot better. If you want to blow through a bunch of ammo put a tuner on a .22. But they do work, they do tune groups, it’s just the next time you go out to shoot it’s probably not going to repeat. Atleast in my experience. Now on a center fire with good consistent ammunition that’s a different story. But still very expensive to get right.

    • @RimfireSS
      @RimfireSS  2 месяца назад

      @@keithb.commonangler the RPR probably wasn’t the best choice for Benchrest. The magazine was designed for the 10/22 and it really puts the round through the ringer before it even gets into the chamber. The most accurate.22s have controlled round feeding, most 700 platforms and the CZ457 have that kind of feeding. With that style of feeding the only thing that touches the bullet is the bolt face and the follower of the magazine, so your ammunition is in much better condition when it gets into the chamber. Don’t get me wrong the 10/22 and RPRs can shoot very good but as the distance increases you will see a huge difference.

I know that several companies do bull and match barrels, and yes, triggers and yes, the famous rabbit hole everybody goes down to succeed at, and whatever level or personal performance they want to achieve.
