What would have been helpful was if you had included velocity and Extreme Spread. This would have shown why the vertical dispersion. I shoot almost every week at 100 yards with my Lilja/CZ and all shots captured on my LabRadar. It is simple to see the vertical show up with shots of varying velocity. This is the main factor I look for when lot testing.

I just ordered a tapered GM 28" blued barrel yesterday for my 10/22 sporter I'm playing with, seems like I'll be satisfied with my purchase. thankfully I'm only after better than stock accuracy and a long barrel for how quiet they are, I know the money pit of chasing that last 20% in the 80:20 rule all too well. my first .22lr was my grandmas Winchester mod69a with the factory target peeps on a 25" barrel, since then I was hooked on long barrels and sight radius, shame this barrel wont have irons.

WELLLLLLLLLL............ I can say I WANTED to like them. But. No. I am not a "fan boy" of 1 brand over the other, I just simply buy what works in MY guns. And in my old Marlin 880SQ bought used at a pawn shop for $150 some 24 years ago with a 32 year old Bushnell 4-12x40AO scope I bought back in high school the CCI MaxiMag HP from the walls of marts it will consistently BEAT all the groups in this vid * shrugs * Just a flat fact, the CCI MiniMags also perform 100% in both our Ruger SR22 and Walther P22, as well as my Mossberg 715T, and the most accurate of everything I have shot over the last 24 years is the ELEY Tenex and close 2nd Match ammo. Great video …..I can’t seem to figure out why shooters who test ammo always say ….”that was my fault” . If your testing ammo put it in a rest without little to NO human interference. Just concentrate on your trigger . If you’re testing yourself, bipods, sand bag and environment with any sort of ammo ……that’s another thing entirely………..you’re testing a system…….nothing to very little to do with ammo sorting You’d be surprised how much input we THINK we eliminate………… a smile or frown can change your impact. Return to battery and repetition is crucial

Be careful with this Manufacturer. I bought one of their 10/22 style barrels from a local gun shop, installed it to my rifle and then realized the extractor on my bolt would not pull out a bullet casing. Turns out that Faxon didn't machine the extractor pocket to the edge of the chamber hole, thus there was a flat gap between the edge of the rim of the inserted bullet casing and the extractor pocket. Faxon never responded to my request for assistance. Lucky for me, the seller refunded my purchase and took the barrel back. Based on what I saw of that and their customer service, I would take a hard pass on Faxon.

You've almost certainly already answered this question yourself in the last year, but for small canids over moderate range (out to 200 yards) then a 40 gn WMR round will always do better than a 30gn. The reason is even though the 30 gn has a higher muzzle velocity, this advantage is lost rather quickly. If you consider that the accurate range is probably the point where the round goes subsonic, this gives the range of an 1850 fps 40gn projectile an extra 30 to 50 yards over the 2250fps 30 gn projectile. Run some ballistics calculations, and that's what it looks like on paper - harder terminal energy at longer range. That's also my concern over the .17 HMR which performs great for most people but has a very ordinary G1 BC. Of course, that doesn't mean squat if you don't hit what you are aiming at, so real world tests at the range you intend to shoot are a must. I have to say though, the CZ 457 seems to like the higher (better) BC rounds in 40 or 50 grain. Just subscribed, but I've got some catching up to do.

Great concluding point! Americans want domestic target grade .22LR and are obviously willing to pay a premium. We are flooded with cheap crap domestic ammo (Remington and most Win Hester for me). We have lots of decent affordable squirrel quality ammo in CCU, Federal and Aguila (North America at least). What we sorely lack is the Eley, Lapua, SK target level of .22LR made in USA. $7-$10/50 for that would sell all day long. We are already paying up to $20/50. Just look at the US market for quality .22lr rifles like Tikka, CZ, Anschutz. Bergara. Plus the vigorous upgrade market and clones for the 10/22.

They're calling them Ranch Hands now? Ones I got have Golden Bullet on them. Also the Beh gar aah? Wheres the Ultra Lightweight or the Green Mountain ⛰️ where you fired Sub Sonics outta it 22 Llama Fella? Them two I can relate too. 🤠 man my Golden ain't dirty like the Ranch dips. They clean like the Mags.

I really want CCI to enter the match market, but I think it should be a bigger priority for them to quit pretending with Green Tag. That stuff is bordering on scam territory. I'm still convinced that rim thickness is the biggest thing holding CCI back, and it's probably not a quick change for them to enter a relatively small market. The thinner rims run more reliably in a larger number of stock rifles, but may not do as well (accuracy-wise), especially when super tight bolt and barrel face tolerances are presented. I won't even mention Remington. Friends Don't Let Friends Shoot Remington Rimfire. ETA: I think of Green Tag as the Johnnie Walker Blue of precision rimfire. It's overpriced no-age-statement watered-down blended whisky made for people with money that want others to think they know something about whisky. It's not bad, but its price is a reflection of marketing, not quality.

The manufacturer's will never do that, if they make a quality 22, then that will eat into their profits from larger caliber ammunition, it's really sad

You should try some Remington Target ammo in the blue box. Worst shooting ammo I have used. SD 40+ Spread way over 100. My targets look like buckshot patterns. This is being fired in Vudoo, Kidd and other rifles. And this is what Remington sells as their "Target" ammo.
