- CZ457 LRP Factory Barrel VS IBI Barel - Lapua Center X - 50 Yards Ammo Test
In this video I will test Lapua Center X, 22 long rifle rimfire ammunition to see how well this ammo performs in my CZ 457 LRP with the factory barrel and also with the IBI barrel. I have installed a flat blade Timney CZ 457 precision Trigger.
Each test will be compossed of 40 shots in total all fired from the prone at 50 yards. I will be recording shot data including (SD, ES, Highest, and lowest velocities, as well as the average velocity) of the ammunition tested. every test begins with 20 fouling shots from a clean barrel bore, followed by 4 - 5 shot groups
parts used: Timney trigger, amazon arch rail custom fit, Bipod Factory Carbon Fiber BIPOD, Vortex Precision Rings, Vortex Razor HD GEN I, IBI International Barrels Inc. Schnooble 22in.
Hope you enjoy the testing and DON'T FORGET TO SUBSCRIBE! , COMMENT, AND LIKE! the video.
There will be new videos releasing every Sunday morning at 9 am! - Наука
From a guy who used to shoot 400×40x at 50 yards routinely in NRA competition, nice shooting!
I appreciate that you get right down to business.
Thank you I appreciate it. It’s very addictive and time on the gun doesn’t break the bank which is very nice
Another high quality test video!! one of the best rimfire channels!! Thank you for sharing with us
Thank you very much! I really appreciate that have a great day
The most entertaining clip of yours yet. Outstanding shooting with very consistent ammo and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Thank you very much
Just good old “bread n butter” head to head facts without all the “jam” like a lot of videos. Great job!
From someone who has changed out those barrels and knows it is not the easiest task. Your efforts are very much appreciated done in these videos. Thank you
You are welcome. I prefer to clean the barrels when they are out of the rifle so it’s a very common occurrence for me to pull the barrel once a week. Now it’s twice though lol.
If you think the 457 barrel change is hard you should try a Tikka T1x.
C457 quick change system is pretty straight forward in design.
Awesome results man.
Also, I loved the format and the way you did this video.
Thanks so much seems to work well
Great work and some fine shooting!!! Interesting results between the two barrels, I found the ES and SD the most interesting with the groups results. A larger sample might get them closer but there is always static 22lr shooting, endless fun and endless learning.
Thanks again for all your efforts, very informative.
Great job Ryan. It's a lot of work but entertaining as he'll. Thanks.
Excellent as usual Ryan and some very useful information.Thank you.👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it
Great video as always Ryan, really enjoying your barrel comparison 👍
They are double the work but it seems you’re not the only one who likes them so I’ll have to get to work ha ha cheers
Great shooting this is the best video you put out yet. Keep up the good work.
Thanks 🍻 cheers
JEEZ MAN LUV THE CONTENT KEEP ON KEEPIN ON..... MADE MY MORNING BRO THNX....
Great info/video. Waiting for my MDT XRS Chassis to arrive, cz 457. Can't wait to go to the range 👍
Excellent video. I love these head to heads with the stock barrel vs IBI.
I’ll start making more of these video’s but I have 3 other videos ready to release so the next will be in July sometime
It is a very big job for this video, wow, you made a crazy score, il love your presentation 2 barells on a same target, excellent, thank you Ryan, you are the best for me
outstanding job BRO
Great work. Keep it up.
Thanks, will do!
Wow! That IBI is a beast! I know it takes a lot of work changing barrels, than you for the work you do, great video!
No problem at all
The factory barrel has better velocity and ES/SD numbers! For the money the ibi does not improve enough over stock. Would like to see how they compare down range at 100 and 200 yards. I think I’ll be after a Lilja for my 457
We really appreciate the work I can only imagine having to swap barrels on top of everything else a 1 man show like yourself has to do. Both barrels were hammering with CenterX you better write that Lot# down and keep it. Oh yeah and by the way great looking Ball Cap.
Without seeing the Cap I am sure it will meet to your approval Mr. Revolver guy. LOLSSS
I think the hat makes me shoot better lol I honestly think that was the best I have ever been able to do with the factory barrel and same with the ibi. The newer Center x seems to be the way to go with my rifle not even sure if I can beat that with tenex
I enjoyed your 22LR shooting also. Is it rest time now since I haven`t seen any new 22Lr videos
@@BROTUNED The most accurate Eley in my rifles are Eley Team it absolutely hates Eley Tenex.
I still release a 22lr video every Sunday morning. I try to stay 2 or 3 weeks ahead incase anything happens. I’m in the middle of a home renovation project at the moment but I will do my best to keep up a one video per week as long as I can.
Hi great shooting with both barrels I like my cz457lrp in standard form but nice to see the comparison thanks
Interesting. Velocities seemed better in the cz barrel. But then those groups opened up. IbI had some good velocities but then some highs and lows. though its groups seemed to get better. I like the contour of the IBI though. Good stuff.
Great work
Thanks
Great video ! Did you have to add shims to the bolt to head space or just shoot it as is out of the box ?
Bolt is not shimmed. I do have the shims and I tried the smallest one and accuracy got worse so I took it back out
Nice shooting iwi barrel liking that center x
Check out EABCO new 24” stainless barrel for CZ 457. Claiming 1/2” to 3/4” 5 hot groups at 100 yards. $299.00.
That's really good shooting. One thing I'd recommend trying is to put a piece of cardboard behind the target, that would reduce paper and make cleaner round holes.
Great video again.👍could I ask you what’s your trigger pull set at?
It’s just under 1 pound. I could go lighter I think but this way I don’t accidentally discharge it’s always intentional
Both barrels were stacking them in there nicely. It looks like there was a POA POI shift on group number 3 with the CZ barrel and a small shift on number 4 with the IBI, but that one could have been wind to. Both #4s favored a little left while most of the others favored center right, again could have been wind.
It would be nice to be able to eliminate the wind but it’s just never going to happen out back
Again good stuff 👍 my IBI likes eley match shoots lights out my cz stock shoots SK just like you mentioned
Thanks
Good day and thanks for sharing.
-I like the cap ( Day at the range) any idea where i can get one ?
thanks
Email him from his website mr.revolverguy@dayattherange.com
I might be asking this question a little early but what chamber is cut in the IBI barrel?
I’m not sure I’d have to look at the paperwork. I didn’t specify a specific chamber so I’m guessing it’s the default chamber ibi uses. I’ll look it o it and let you nnow
great shooting! the IBI barrel is a nice piece of steel! hey, where did you get those targets? purchase or print yourself? targets have gotten sooo expensive as of late!!!
I print them from dayattherange.com go to Z challenge and you will see the targets linked in there
ok thanks, Ryan. cheers
Give the specs on the IBI. Diameter, chamber, length and weight and if threaded or not.
The diameter is .860” and the fatter end is .925” the overall length is 22” I have never weighed it bit it’s just a bit heavier than a factory mtr barrel.
I like both barrels.
They both shoot very well
Lots of good info and shooting that will go in the mix on my CZ currently mine has done with the SK-LRM. I have sorted the ammo by rim and weight. Still will have an outlier out of 5 shots. groups are pretty consistant at .52 moa.
That’s very good my rule of thumb is it has to be better than 1 moa so at .5 you’re golden.
We shoot a 'bench' match 2x a month and do targets at 75,100,150,200,250, the short targets are the KYL, and at then we do targets (7) 7"-1" and at 200 and 250 we do 9"-3" and there is ALWAYS wind to consider. I am happy with the SK-LRM out to 150 but not at further targets, Some are using the Lapua super LR. but I'm still not convinced it's better. Are you going to stretch out to longer ranges?@@BROTUNED
Do u ever dial the slop out of the scope turrets?
I have never tried seems like there is non between clicks
What do you torque your barrel screws to.
I do 35 in/lbs for barrel grub screws and 32in/lbs on action screws
Did you ever consider with that chrono hanging off the end of barrel might be changing your barrel harmonics? Just a thought !!
It doesn’t touch the barrel
@@BROTUNED ok it looked like it was on the barrel on the video 👍
@@BROTUNED nice shooting off a bipod, by the way...I enjoyed your video, have you tried Aguila or Norma in that rifle? I have an old BRNO model 4 that loves that ammo shoots it pretty consistent 1/4" groups with the Aguila hi-vel and haven't shot as much with the Norma yet...but it seems to shoot it well also for cheaper ammo it shoots well...better than CCI Blazer in that gun any ways !!
What’s the name of your rear bag?? Or is it home made?
It’s home made.
Nice video. I had the same results until I got around 500 rds through the IBI. Now it shoots better than the cz. Very happy with both. Let me know how’s it’s shooting now. All so did you shim the bolt. That too improved the hell out of the ibi.
I tried shimming my bolt with even the thinnest shim the bold close was so tight it required a lot of force close it and I didn’t see any improvement in accuracy possibly I could try it again
You should send some of your videos over to that guy that does the aim small miss small. Poor guy needs some help or needs to stop getting high before he makes them. Anyway great job.
Lol who is that?
i have 2 IBI's one on a deuce setup and one on a CZ 457 setup....clean it as little as possible good sir! just do the chamber and the carbon rings every 4-500 rounds is my opinion and what Ryan from IBI tells me...works well
Thanks for the tip! I used to not clean my 22lr s but lately and for these ammo tests I’ve been cleaning them and seems to do better. Maybe I’ll do a video on that see if I can find some consistency in the results
@@BROTUNED I just watched your recent video today…I ordered rws rifle match s…should be here this week it’s shot as good or slightly better than the target stuff that you just used (yes it’s abit more I get it haha) I recommend tryin it…I’ve been told it’s a hidden gem and isn’t as well known so the price has stayed slightly down
I hope you can photo the coyote control.
is barrel is twist 1/16?
Yes it is
What toque do you use?
I use 30”/lbs on the barrel grub bolts and 30 on the action screws starting with the front bolt near the mag well I just snug it up then the rear action bolt then I bump the rifle on it’s butt pad to ensure the recoil lug is engaged in the action then a final torque with the fat wrench to 30”/lbs. I think cz recommends 50”/lbs on the barrel grub bolts but I leave my wrench at 30”/lbs and don’t touch it. The fat wrench isn’t really a precision tool so one day what I think is 30” could be 29 or 31. So it’s set and I just rope with it
@@BROTUNED as i know, cz recomeds exactly 31 inch/lbs (35nm). I was trying to play with torque, and as a result best grous were with 30, 35 and 45 nm.
I also played with torque settings on this rifle and there was a node around 30”/lbs and as far as the barrel grub screw torque I also tightened them to 30”/lbs this way the torque wrench stays the same and also speeds up the swapping process.
Are you headspacing these barrels using shims?
This barrel didn’t come with shims. I do have bolt shims but didn’t like how tight the bolt close was with even the smaller shim
No shim work on either barrel then? Very nice.@@BROTUNED
@@BROTUNED if the bolt is harder to close on smallest shim, that means your headspace is probably where it should be without the shim !!
Haha a mosquito made me throw one. That's New! I'm gonna use it. Good shootin'.
Lol
That thing is a hammer
Thank you sir!
I sure wish Lapua would focus better on getting there SK line out more it is so hard to get certain brands here in the states.
Even harder here in Canada 🇨🇦 we only get some if there is extra it seems like
Nice Shnuble..
Lol thanks
Wow $20 per box of Lapua, in Australia it would be $30 +.
Man I thought I had it bad
If you put some serious lead through that factory barrel it will shoot with any other barrels out there. None of my czs shot that fantastic until I had shot them for awhile you might be letting a good thing go by the way side.
Beagleman
It does shoot very good and I shoot both quite often.
WOW I can get X-Act for $24.50 box
Ya it’s very expensive here
Pretty good accuracy from the stock barrel I thought it would do better than the IBI in this battle!
_Yote plinking comin soon._ 🐔
It was very close
Old buddy if you will shoot that. Factory barrel it will just keep getting better that is what mine did and it just keeps getting better. That center x is shooting awful good in both barrels don't you think? Seems like I have told you this before just kidding. By the way that is the same lot I shoot if you ever want to get rid of that lot let me know I will take them of your hands. Your bud
Beagleman
It definitely shot very well I was afraid I wasn’t going to be able to shoot the ibi as good. That lot of center x is amazing stuff.
Would be nice to have this setup to see if it was the shooter or flyer: ruclips.net/video/nsbqrp45aic/видео.html
Yes I saw this pop up in my feed but haven’t had the time to watch it yet. I have it saved in my watch later list and it’s high on my priorities to watch

@@BROTUNED I lived in Tillsonburg for few years!
I used to ride motocross in that indoor mx park there years ago not even sure if it’s still there anymore. But very cool where are you these days?
