  • On a quest to find the ammunition that my CZ 457 likes the best. Today 8 boxes of Eley ,including 3 different lots of Match are grouped and measured from 50 yards. The optic is an Arken SH4-II.

Very nice work there. Looks like perfect conditions for the test as well. I’ve only tested Sport, Team, Match & Tenex Biathlon. The best results was team after weighing then tuning with barrel tuner, burnt the batch off and tried a different batch, not the same 😖

That 457 is a tack driver! I own two of them and love them both.

Nice! I tested 5 different lots of Eley Match this weekend and 2 lots did the same or maybe slightly better than SK Pistol Match and Pistol Match Special that's about half the price. But SK is almost impossible to find right now, so I thought I'd try something else in my CZ 457 Provarmint. I also tried some Lapua Pistol King and that did better than any of them at 50 and 100 yards.

Thanks for the the info. It can get expensive searching for the perfect ammo.

    Excellent comparison.
I only buy the top tier ammo in regards to Eley for the most part, but I do have excellent luck with Contact and Sport

I bought about 700 rounds of Eley Target ammo (yellow box) and I found that they have a lot of slimy lubricant on them.
I like the bullet shape but I might try to get the lubricant off somehow.

Nice shooting mate. Interesting test, seems like every barrel out there shoots different ammo better than the next barrel.

Damn that one has some nice wood. I wish I could find one like that. Sum biatch is nice.

You know that Eley uses the same lubricant on their bullets. One group of fouling shots would have been enough for the whole shoot. I like the wood on that gun. Looks tiger striped

...best Eley in my 10/22 Target Tactical, Action 42grn...it's subMoA to 100 Yards. Unfortunately it's now out of production, like Eley Team...

Using Target ammo in a hunting .22 LR rifle? Try a Swiss-made Bleiker action and stock for single holes @ fifty metres (not yards). Target ammo is not designed for use in hunting models.

I have been shooting some SK long range here lately and it is doing pretty good for me. Lapua anything is not available from any of my usual suppliers.
