Protip for people with FJs WITHOUT the rear camera, you can fit a 35" fire on the back if you take off the entire spare tire mount and rotate it 180 degrees. You won't be able to open the rear window, but you will be able to mount the 35" tire

@@blacksheeptx214After you did the 180 degree flip? You might have a wheel space on your mount if you can open the window with a 35" on the factory mount.

I love the look of a tastefully lifted/mods FJ, like yours. I picked up a 2014 with 125k from older guy (70's) original owner, no mods, Arizona FJ.

Man thank you for the advice, showing the rock sliders. My girl has an FJ and if we put sliders on it we will put on these. If they still make them. The features you talk about are nice. And I absolutely hate when people throw their doors wide open to my Tacoma or our FJ and tundra. One night I went to grab something from my truck and this other SUV had their doors wide open slammed into my passenger door. They left their door open and forgot to close it, can't stand it. Thanks again!

I like both those items. They seem to be a perfect fit and very much purpose built to protect and to give proper clearance. I like that the rear window opens without issue. Well designed. I agree about the washers. I think a Dremel tool with a good bit would create a nice clean cutout for the washers.

I love my Runner but I’m not going to lie. If Toyota had a new version with upgrades and new tech when I made my purchase I would have considered the FJ, no doubt. The shorter wheel base, the approach and departure angles and the over compact nature of the vehicle might have influenced my decision.

Is the rock slider wide enough to put your foot while entering the vehicle or you need to install a foot step for that?

Hey man! Sweet ride! I have the same color. Did you black out the handles, mirrors, end caps, and grill yourself? If so did you paint or buy those pieces. Been looking to do that but the oem black parts are not cheap. Thanks!

They were painted when I bought the FJ. The blacked out look makes a huge difference. The paint option is fine, but it will slowly chip away--especially the door handles. Maybe buy factory black handles and paint the more expensive parts. I the improvement in style is worth the cost of one of these kits; www.purefjcruiser.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=546

Do you mind sharing your tire numbers? Do you run spacers?

Thanks for posting! Did you re-gear before you installed the 35's? Also, guessing you chopped the body mount in wheel wells?

The 35's were on when I bought the FJ. I installed 4.88 gears. It has a clean, professional body mount chop.

@@WildRiverCamping other than BMC and regear to 4.88s. Is there anything you needed to do for the 35’s?

@@Fizz826 The inner fender liner will need to be cut out in front where it rubs. I'm also running wheel spacers--1.5", I believe. The Bilstein 5100s are set up for a 2.75" lift in the front.
