I did it! It took about 3 hours and lots of patience but I did it. Thanks BeefMaster! P.S. Those tiny screws almost made me lose my mind. I am really glad I taped all the screws to a piece of paper as I worked and labeled each section.
I had to come here and personally thank you for this easy tutorial. It took me 2 hours but it was all worth it. You have saved me $100.

Great video man I almost got charged $150 to get my screen replaced bought the same kit and was able to change it just now within 25 minutes saved $100, I never changed a screen in my life but your video guided me through the whole thing with ease

@@younglingslayer2896 iphones are built to break i have had iphone and android, and trust me youre not missing out. literally the same as a google or android but brittle. i suggest one of the google pixel models

Hey man just ran across this video after my LCD completely cracked. I was gonna give up and just upgrade because I've had the phone for 4 years at this point, but realized that's pretty wasteful of both money and the phone. Thank you for uploading this, after reading the comments it seems like this is a great guide even for beginners, so I will definitely be trying myself. Worst case I waste like 30 bucks which is better than replacing the entire phone!

I dropped one of the tiny screws on my carpet which is RIP but my phone seems to be working completely fine for now. Thanks again, I was so close to buying a new phone for 300 bucks when my phone was still working

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!! I'm a teen who broke my phone once already, and had to pay for the repair myself. Since I don't make money and don't get allowance, it was a huge blow. I broke it again (smh), and was able to repair it with this tutorial. However, I would mention a little earlier in the video if you want to put the waterproof seal instead of near the end. Once again, literal life saver!

Hey beefmaster! I was taking apart mmmy phone and I did it but there was a metal screen. What should I do?
For some reason with this screen it seems to short when I insert the final (first screws next to charging port). As when I pop off the screen and put it back on it's fine. If I screw those two screws in, it bootloops. Could this be because it needs the waterproof seal replaced?
My one year old has been drooling all over my phone and I guess it finally had enough cause i have vertical lines and black circles on my phone lol I will be trying to repair it next week cause this was such a clear video to follow

Hi when replacing my phone I didn't have a metal plate near my camera. I replaced the screen anyways without it and my phone is working fine but am worried it might nip me in the but soon.

So I was in the middle of this and i've done this multiple times only for this time to have the screen not show anything once i got it on is there a reason for this?
So I have an iPhone XR and the whole phone is bent but turns on and off I hadn’t had the chance to back it up before the screen went completely black and I went to a shop to fix it and they refused. I was really just wondering if there is any chance I’d be able to transfer the screen using an adapter just to back the phone up so I dont lose 2 and a half years worth of memories. Anyway I know there is no way of you knowing for sure without actually looking at the phone I’m really just asking to get your overall 2 sense. But anyway I’m gonna just give this a shot thanks for the informative tutorial.

hair dryer with plastic tool and suction cup doesn't really help the screen comes off, my suction cup even broke pulling the screen out and the screen is still stuck

Hey there are 3 links of stuff to buy do you know if you have to buy the mechanical screws or can you fix it by just buying the screen protector case and the tools they give you?
The screen kit will have everything you need. The screwdriver kit is optional; just a much higher quality tool set if you are going to do more repairs.

If you don’t want to waste a lot of money just buy the phone and kit one I just used that and fixed my phone, some of the screws didn’t unscrew

The screen on my phone is purple, green, black, and white. I just took it out of my bag and it was like that. The onky thing I can see is a few buttons sometimes. This sucks.

Yes, getting the replacement screen should fix the problem as it's likely a broken LCD panel that will be replaced.

Can you fix a TV screen the same way you fixed the phone screen?
My mom dropped my phone on accident. It was cracked before but I wasn't mad. But I repaired it 3 times total before stumbling across this video. I have a new phone now but I wanted to see if it was repairable on my own.
Do I need the "Excellent Repair Kit" to complete repair? As it looks like the replacement screen kit comes with all the tools needed.
Hi Jerome, thanks for watching. Most of the screen replacements packages will have all the tools needed to replace the screen, but they are much more cheaply made and won't last too long. The repair kit is another option if you are looking to have solid electronic repair tools beyond just replacing the screen.

The first link for the screen repair kit will give you everything you need for the repair. The second link is higher quality tools if you plan on doing other work like computer upgrades.

Turn it off if possible, but not necessary. Otherwise just be careful when you disconnect the battery while opening it and you should be good.

Yes, there are repair shops in most cities and would likely charge $40-$60. If your screen is broken, I have screens from the Amazon links and give the repair a shot to save some money. You got this.
