      I would say try the zip ties, then the blade supports and see how you like it. Then for the extra finesse add the grommets! 👍

      @@CuttingBoardRx I'm already using a blade support piece I made, and now I'll add zip-ties. That's a quick easy hack. As for my blade clamp piece, it didn't wiggle much, but I took some super glue and went around the circumference of the piece that inserts little by little letting it dry fully each time, and got it to fit pretty tight.
      This sharpener is super easy to use and does a surprisingly good job keeping a working edge on every-day-use knives. And, I've made my money back + a little profit using it to sharpen some friends knives.

    Sweep Push+Pull 5 from base to edge x 5 tip to base x 5 base to edge x 5 tip to edge each side then decrement until 1x1x1x1 on each side then repeat for next grit. The higher the grit the more 5x5x5x5 I do, but the rest just once each side.

  • @chasewells5464
    @chasewells5464 6 месяцев назад +1

    I got the Pro PA for a few reasons.
    1. I really liked the idea. I really liked that it was bigger, longer and wider stones, angle finder, easily replaceable stones as well, heavier is a plus for me, it accepts larger knives too.
    2. I really like the versatility of it. It can sharpen almost anything.
    3. This was honestly a huge plus to me, square stones. I can actually sharpen into the ricasso of Spydercos and Bucks and other knives with bad or no sharpening choil.
    The downsides are, and I’m wondering if anyone else is having this issue, is the plastic chassis that holds the rod cracking for anyone else? I’ve gone through three of them. I would love to know if anyone else has had that problem.
    Also the stones are expensive. That’s all the problems I have with it. Great other than those things.

      I didn’t use any other systems besides that crappy lansky in red box. I do see comments that come from users of TS Prof and Keen Edge that neither is perfect. Terrific video, thank you!! I will dig up my sharpener and apply your suggested fixes. I have been looking on Amazon for that specific copper tubing, after adding those 4mm grommets into my card, but am not 100% sure what to get. It seems those pipes come with a 1" diameter. You mentioned the one you used was oversized. Do you happen to have a link for the specific copper pipe that fits the Worksharp?

    • @CuttingBoardRx
      @CuttingBoardRx  8 месяцев назад

      The pipes are marked by the inside diameter. So if it says 1” that should be fine. Once you slot it, it will conform to the device. Edit: very important: make sure it’s actual pipe and not a 1” Connecting fitting! That one may be too large as it’s designed to go Over the 1” pipe
      Edit 2: 25 mm OD tube may work actually! Try this one amzn.to/3x4YvtX
      Y may actually not need to cut 1/8” slot, rather just cut a single line

    I think the Worksharp is a great system if you just have a couple of knives, and you want to put a good edge on them from time to time. If you're going to do a lot of sharpening, not so good. Their proprietary plates just don't hold up.
