It's a bigger glow up than I thought during my first watch, but I'd still like it to be polished up a little more before launch. Dark Moon's relatively flat textures and geometric look make it upscale pretty well, but I think they can come closer to the look of LM3.
Something to keep in mind is that when 3 was first revealed, the graphics didn't look anywhere near as polished as they were in the final game, so the same could probably be said for this. That said I honestly wouldn't mind it if this game still looks how it does now when it releases. 3's graphics would definitely be better, but this looks good enough to the point that it's not a deal breaker for me.
It doesn't quite match up to luigi mansion 3's visual but it now looks fairly sharp. it feels more like the facelift Twilight Princess got for the HD version. It looks like how you remember it looking like. I wonder if they will make it so that you can explore each of the mansion in full without needing to go back to Egad everytime. That would require some significant changes but still.

I love this game, it was one of the first games I got on my 3DS so I am super glad to see it ported to switch! I was genuinely not expecting it due to how many people said they did not like the more linier format of the game (Personally I still really liked it myself) so I am super glad that it is getting a Switch port, this genuinely was probably my favorite part of the direct!
Nintendo generally seems good to make physicals for most "big" games. Prime remaster got one. Mario rpg has one. The 3d collection from a few years got one

For anyone concerned about the "worse" facial expressions or that the graphics don't compare to LM3, remember that this game is releasing NEXT YEAR. And who knows when exactly, at that. For all we know, this could be a Halloween release like LM3. They've got more than enough time to tweak everything and polish things up. If I had to guess, it's still in relatively early stages. Just like how the first LM3 trailer showed worse graphics/models than what we actually got in-game.
Yeah out of all of Nintendo's franchises it feels like Luigi's Mansion games have the biggest difference in graphics from early trailers to launch too 😂 But honestly with this I am already pretty happy. It could use some minor touch ups with small things I notice with the Switch version but I am already more than satisfied with it being a faithful remaster

This game was my childhood in a nutshell. It feels just like yesterday it was the year of Luigi. I have so many fond memories of this game, and I still play it. I even try and play online. Sometimes, I find someone to play with. I got this game from a person who was really close to me who died last year.

At this point I think a Luigi's Mansion 1 port is inevitable. I was surprised that it wasn't shadow dropped after the Luigi's Mansion 2 announcement, but I assume they didn't want it to overshadow Pikmin 1 and 2. It just doesn't make sense to have 2 and 3 on Switch but not 1.
This is actually amazing. Actual additions to the outside area like grass, new models for the decoration in the bathroom, new Luigi model..this went from oh wow to OH MY GOD THIS IS HYPE
I just hope they decide to keep some of the expressions and don’t change all of them, at least to me, they did a fine job in the 3ds, sometimes luigi’s jaw drops because he’s scared, and once in a while because he’s just tired, like.. “seeing an entire 12 flight of stairs and being told the dark moon piece is on the roof” kind of jaw drop
LM2 was my favourite of the 3 games so I might have to pick it up again to play through in HD. (Though I hope I don't have to play Scarescraper for 1000 hours just to unlock all the ghosts in the museum again 😅)
I think people need to keep in mind that they will be focusing a lot more on converting the gameplay and controls over to Switch. They gotta make a game designed for two screens work fluidly on one, which I imagine is a fairly challenging process. They're probably also going to change gameplay elements like how you vacuum. In the original, you had to use motion controls to look up and down, and there was no way to rotate Luigi while vacuuming do to the 3DS only having one analog stick (New 3DS systems did not exist when this game released.) I'm fairly happy with how the game looks already as it was already very VERY visually impressive for the 3DS when it released, and would much rather the devs focus on making the game play better than it did originally rather than them trying to shoe shine a game that doesn't feel right on the platform it's releasing for. Best case scenario is they give us the best of both worlds, but since this is slated for 2024 and we have no idea how long it's actually been in development for, that's not really a lot of time.
And I hope 3 will be actually compatible with new hardware and not being ported. I can't even imagine how could it be improved, the graphics are pretty much perfect. The only possible thing could be resolution and performance, but everything else is unimprovable

I'm very excited that we're getting a remaster of Luigi's Mansion 2 Dark Moon. It was one of the first games I played in the Luigi's Mansion series that introduced me to it. As I love how Nintendo gave this game an overhaul with its graphics while also preserving what it looked in the original. As I can't to replay one of my favorite classics from the 3DS when it releases next year!
It looks like they've reworked the lighting engine and put brand new textures an various places, including more detail on Luigi. This looks like an awesome remake.

Dark Moon was the first Luigi's Mansion game I ever played and was my introduction to the spin-off series, I'm so happy that it's getting remastered and ported to the switch.
one of my favorite parts of dark moon was it's art style, I know it's on the 3ds but it had this really blocky, un-straight style to it while it certainly looks alot cleaner, I can say that in many ways they have kept that style, and that makes me happy
Now I'm hoping they do make a Luigi's Mansion movie, because after watching the Mario movie whenever I see Luigi, all I can here is Charlie Day's voice coming out of his mouth. X3
It would be cool if they ported the first game over as well so we could have the full series on Switch, but this is still cool. I never finished Dark Moon on the 3ds, so this may be a good way to try again.
people didnt really like SM3DW at first because they wanted a 64/Galaxy type of game, and once we got that in the form of odyssey, people started to see how good it actually was. im hoping this does a similar thing cuz personally i enjoyed dark moon.
Literally so true, dark moon is my favorite in the series and i always feel like people hate it just because its different from lm1 and lm3. I think the mission system works wonders for the game’s structure and what it’s going for. And honestly dark moon’s controls are way better than lm1 and lm3’s, especially catching ghosts, it’s so frantic, simple, and satisfying.
No. I never liked Super Mario 3D World and I still don't. It's one of the worst Mario games. It's not a proper 3D Mario and it's annoying to have to hold a button to run.
Considering this isn't released until next year, I'd take these visuals with a pinch of salt. Nintendo often releases teasers that are from early in development.
This game was my childhood, its my all time favorite game and I'm so happy about this remaster, I'm gonna grind this the day it comes out and 100% it. Its gonna be a emotional ride for me, but can't wait to explore the gloomy manor which is my favorite mansion
Really happy this is getting released again for more people to enjoy. Love this game. Mostly I'm reminded how great this looked on 3DS. Really wonderful use of the PICA200 and felt distinctively 3DS to me in the best way.
When I saw this I was like "YES YES YEEESSSSSS" luigis mansion 2 i loved that game so much I played it so many many until it broke I was upset and was wishing I could always play since luigis mansion 3 is good but I do miss number 2 and now when this comes it will be like exprinceing the game all over again AND hopefully luigis mansion 1 will be on switch.... I never got experience that it's it's likely since the orginal luigis mansion on 3Ds didn't do that well apparently

Yeah Luigi's personality here is my favorite from the scared version (same for LM3), while I like the MSBL version of the heroic one. In other words Next Level Games has really good animations
I think of this as more of a 3D All stars treatment than a remake. Because the switch version still doesn’t look like Luigi’s Mansion 3. That one looks like a game built from the ground up for specifically for the switch.
I'm so happy my #1 favorite 3DS game is getting a remaster on Switch. But I really hope that the OG Luigi's Mansion gets a remaster or at least a port of the original from the Gamecube available to purchase for everyone at some point as I've never played it myself before.

This was a great game on 3DS and I think playing it on a tv will make me appreciate the game even more. While it isn’t my favourite game in the series (that’s a toss up between the original and LM3), it was still my first Luigi’s Mansion game so it holds a special place in my heart
Luigi’s Mansion 3ds looks better than dark moon. I remember playing one after another and dark moon is very pixelated compared to LM 3ds. I can’t wait to play an Hd version of dark moon and knowing Nintendo there’s gonna be some bonus content 🙂
I think everything look great except for that one shot of Luigi reacting to something. The new one looks stiff and like he was sloppily animated to get a shot in for the trailer

I love Luigis Mansion and I am so glad Dark Moon is getting a switch release! That said, I really wish they would also remaster the original for the switch. The original game was my childhood and I'd love to revisit it in a new form!
I think that's what people aren't understanding, if you look at the announcement trailer for LM3 the graphics don't look as good but when the game released it looked great. They still have a year to work on it I think it'll be great when it releases. I've loved this game ever since I played it on the 3DS, I hope it gets the love it deserves. (btw not saying this game will look as good as LM3)
Dark moon is a great game. I don't think it needed a remaster personally, but I'll totally pick it up. As different as it was from the first one, it was actually pretty fun. And one of the few games I've cared enough to attempt a 100% on
Just from looking at it in the direct i wasn't able to tell HOW MUCH they improved the graphics. From much higher quality models to lighting, this seems like a really involved remaster
I hope this is a genuinely good remaster and doesn't feel like a handheld game and maybe fix the mission structure cause I loved the original dark moon
I'll be honest, I have Luigi's Mansion 2 on 3DS, but I don't like playing it, not because it's not a good game, on the contrary, it's just that I find it uncomfortable on 3DS (exactly like the "Remake" of the first Luigi's Mansion on 3DS), but Now that they're making it to Switch, I'm pumped and can't wait to play it properly.

keep in mind that LM3's visuals were a lot better in the release than in the original trailer, they still have time to make it better.

people didnt really like SM3DW at first because they wanted a 64/Galaxy type of game, and once we got that in the form of odyssey, people started to see how good it actually was. im hoping this does a similar thing cuz personally i enjoyed dark moon.
Literally so true, dark moon is my favorite in the series and i always feel like people hate it just because its different from lm1 and lm3. I think the mission system works wonders for the game’s structure and what it’s going for. And honestly dark moon’s controls are way better than lm1 and lm3’s, especially catching ghosts, it’s so frantic, simple, and satisfying.
No. I never liked Super Mario 3D World and I still don't. It's one of the worst Mario games. It's not a proper 3D Mario and it's annoying to have to hold a button to run.

Considering this isn't released until next year, I'd take these visuals with a pinch of salt. Nintendo often releases teasers that are from early in development.

Dark Moon was legit my favourite 3DS game back in the day. So glad it's getting a port to the Switch.
This game was my childhood, its my all time favorite game and I'm so happy about this remaster, I'm gonna grind this the day it comes out and 100% it. Its gonna be a emotional ride for me, but can't wait to explore the gloomy manor which is my favorite mansion

Hopefully this is the start of a trend porting & HD'ing 3DS games to Switch. Would love to have OoT3D HD, MM3D HD, ALBW HD, Samus Returns HD, etc.
Really happy this is getting released again for more people to enjoy. Love this game. Mostly I'm reminded how great this looked on 3DS. Really wonderful use of the PICA200 and felt distinctively 3DS to me in the best way.

When I saw this I was like "YES YES YEEESSSSSS" luigis mansion 2 i loved that game so much I played it so many many until it broke I was upset and was wishing I could always play since luigis mansion 3 is good but I do miss number 2 and now when this comes it will be like exprinceing the game all over again AND hopefully luigis mansion 1 will be on switch.... I never got experience that it's it's likely since the orginal luigis mansion on 3Ds didn't do that well apparently
There was also one scene from the direct when Luigi was finding the Poltergust 5000 from the bunker.
I’m happy with what they did here, they gave everything more polygons and higher res textures, but didn’t interfere with the art style at all.

0:30 This Game being one of my all time favorites i Hope that they Preserve What this game had to offer the MOST, That was Luigi's Character and Body Language, In the Time Stamp...HE ISNT HUNCHED OVER/Crouching anymore, that added a sense of luigi being very precautious as well as scared.
Yeah Luigi's personality here is my favorite from the scared version (same for LM3), while I like the MSBL version of the heroic one.
In other words Next Level Games has really good animations
It’s a work in progress since it comes out a last year. His face even looks a bit off especially when his mouth isn’t open as wide in the new one.

I think of this as more of a 3D All stars treatment than a remake. Because the switch version still doesn’t look like Luigi’s Mansion 3. That one looks like a game built from the ground up for specifically for the switch.
I’m happy that they remade Luigi’s mansion dark moon, I get to experience my childhood again

I'm so happy my #1 favorite 3DS game is getting a remaster on Switch. But I really hope that the OG Luigi's Mansion gets a remaster or at least a port of the original from the Gamecube available to purchase for everyone at some point as I've never played it myself before.
I've been wanting to replay dark moon but I don't have my 2ds anymore, and emulation for this game is awful. So stoked for this version, wonder how much it will cost
Probably won’t cost as much as tears of the kingdom, maybe around 40 or 50 could even be 30 if there nice about it I guess

This was a great game on 3DS and I think playing it on a tv will make me appreciate the game even more. While it isn’t my favourite game in the series (that’s a toss up between the original and LM3), it was still my first Luigi’s Mansion game so it holds a special place in my heart
Luigi’s Mansion 3ds looks better than dark moon. I remember playing one after another and dark moon is very pixelated compared to LM 3ds. I can’t wait to play an Hd version of dark moon and knowing Nintendo there’s gonna be some bonus content 🙂

This was my first LM game after borrowing it from a former classmate. A few years later, I got it for Christmas alongside LM3.
I replayed this game so many times on my 3ds and I’ll happily do it again on my switch

I think everything look great except for that one shot of Luigi reacting to something. The new one looks stiff and like he was sloppily animated to get a shot in for the trailer

Damn I remember when I was watching the game explain Dark moon trailer back in the days of the level 4-1 and that chest in the reflexion at the begining.
I love Luigis Mansion and I am so glad Dark Moon is getting a switch release! That said, I really wish they would also remaster the original for the switch. The original game was my childhood and I'd love to revisit it in a new form!

I think that's what people aren't understanding, if you look at the announcement trailer for LM3 the graphics don't look as good but when the game released it looked great. They still have a year to work on it I think it'll be great when it releases. I've loved this game ever since I played it on the 3DS, I hope it gets the love it deserves.

Dark moon is a great game. I don't think it needed a remaster personally, but I'll totally pick it up. As different as it was from the first one, it was actually pretty fun. And one of the few games I've cared enough to attempt a 100% on
now we just need the 1st game as well

Just from looking at it in the direct i wasn't able to tell HOW MUCH they improved the graphics. From much higher quality models to lighting, this seems like a really involved remaster

The 3D effect was very good in this game, just for that i prefer the 3DS version, it is a wonderfull handheld console the 3D feature was pure magic.

I'll be honest, I have Luigi's Mansion 2 on 3DS, but I don't like playing it, not because it's not a good game, on the contrary, it's just that I find it uncomfortable on 3DS (exactly like the "Remake" of the first Luigi's Mansion on 3DS), but Now that they're making it to Switch, I'm pumped and can't wait to play it properly.
It needs some work but i have faith Nintendo will do this remaster justice 😊
