    I have the X100V and it is a very capable portrait camera. I got the telephoto adapter and in conjunction with a trigger and a couple of Godox AD200's you have a small and very powerful portrait kit. I use it more than my XH1 for portraits because of the leaf shutter I don't need high speed sync. I also use a blackmist pro filter for effects too. Damien Lovegrove who is a very highly regarded portrait photographer on youtube used an X100V in one of his portrait shoots. Its worth a watch.

    • @kristin5116
      @kristin5116  3 года назад

      It really is!! Wait for this week's episode - it's all about taking portraits with the x100v! 😃 And yes!! I used a Black pro-mist 1/8 and adds just the right touch. 👌🏻 I'll be sure to check out Damien Lovegrove's vid. Thanks, Mark!

    Kristin,
    I appreciate your enthusiasm for your Fuji X-100V. I have had mine for almost a year now. If I could only have just one Fuji, this is the one. This camera is my everyday camera, my street camera, and my minimalist travel camera. Also, you mentioned Valérie Jardin, who is a well known and respected street photographer! I have been taking workshops with Valérie now since 2015. And I have the good fortune to live in her home city, Minneapolis, and thus can see her work frequently at out local Street Photographers club. Enjoy your new Fuji

    • @kristin5116
      @kristin5116  3 года назад

      Thanks, Jeff! It really is such a versatile little camera. And that's awesome that you've had the opportunity to work with Valérie! Again, I'm relatively new to street photography so I'm still coming to know all the "cool kids" of the genre. 😂 I've come to really appreciate her work. Please say "hello!" to her for me the next time you see her 😉👋

    I just wish it didn’t cost so much. It would be amazing to see how much of the market it could penetrate if it only costed $599 or so. Its cost alone makes me reconsider if I want to take it with me somewhere or not. It’s too valuable.

    • @jtes1442
      @jtes1442 3 года назад

      $599 is unrealistic. Maybe $899 would be more realistic and reasonable.

    Hope you’re still enjoying your X100V. Your enthusiasm for Fuji gear reminds me of my personal transition to Fuji from big, heavy Canon gear, huge tripods and mammoth ball heads. So liberating! I have the X100F, and I immersed myself in it for a solo photography week in San Francisco, and it was *gasp* the only camera I took. I found it incredibly versatile for street, landscapes, architecture, food, and nature, all day long and after dark too. (Maybe especially after dark, B&W or color - the high ISO quality is amazing!) I hope you will love your X100V, and I look forward to seeing the images you create with it in a future video. I know the thought of having only one focal length is scary sometimes, but like you said, this lens is a sweet spot. (As some wise teacher once said “When you only have one lens, you always have the right lens on the camera. When you have more than one lens, you always have the wrong lens on the camera.”) One fixed focal length lens taught me to move around and explore composition and perspective and light and so much more. And because I wasn’t hauling 20 lbs of gear around, I could stay out all day and well into the night, feeling energetic and inspired and far less fatigued than with heavy DSLR bodies and L zoom lenses.
    Thanks for your informative videos - they are so easy to watch. They feel light and bright to me, not heavy with technical jargon and photos of brick walls and useless data. That stuff just doesn’t matter to me. The experience of using the camera matters so much more. In short, your videos feel like an easy conversation with a fun friend about photography. I think you’ll have great success with that recipe. Good luck!

    So I understand why a fully articulating screen is useful for vlogging and such, but I find the type of screen on the X100V or even better X-T2 and X-T3 are much better for photography and I really hope Fujifilm will go back to it on the X-T5. It's never in the way of a camera strap, it's quicker to get into the desired position, and it's more or less on the lens axis.
    For hybrid cameras and video focused cameras sure, go ahead. I just hope they will leave them off the photography focused cameras including the entire GFX line.

    That's probably the first time I've seen this attachment on the x100 camera, really cool! It seems like now that you have an adapter for canon to X mount, it's time to think about coming over to the Fuji family 😉🙃

    I wouldn’t mind having it tilt like an XT3 but, would hate it having a completely flip screen. This is supposed to be a photo first camera, that just happens to have some solid video features. I walk around with an EOS R for street, and sometimes hate the fully articulated screen. So just a simple tilt would be AWESOME for street, which kind of what the x100v is geared to. Def looking forward to getting one.

    You're channel will go far.I like the creative ideas.I wanted the original X100 but held off and it wasn't until the V that i purchased one.People moan about the 50mm TCL but it is fine for portraits
    If you use the 100mm option in the teleconverter it's a small file but now in RAW .Put the file in lightroom and use enhance details which will make the file about 4x bigger fior printing etc.It works a treat.Good luck.

    Nice video, but I sure hope that you are wrong about the next version of this camera having an articulating screen. After all, who wants a screen going out to the side of the camera, making the whole camera approx 3 inches wider than it already is.

    X-t30 is much better in many ways, smaller, more compact, perfect for traveling and street photography has much better grip, bigger viewfinder, more practical because u can change lenses, not fixed lens! Yes it's not weather sealed but got same sensor and processor as 100v. X-t30 is cheaper even if you add two f2 prime lens to the price.
