I know this video is older but I am new to Mini Coopers and do own a 2005 MCS. Motor was replaced and I get a list of codes but before I start replacing all parts which scanner (affordable) that allows me to clear all codes then rescan. Reason I ask is each time I have auto parts store scan the care I get new codes. First set of codes were P0030 P2096 P0130 These are all oxygen sensor , fuel mix sensor engine related. Along with the following chassis codes. 5D90 wheel speed sensor 5E14 can time out DME/DDE 5DF4 wiring source below neg 9 volt s 5E5C RPA PUSH BUTTON error 5E19 CAN DME/DDE engine torque not adjustable. Guessing that the 5DF4 cold dealt with voltage I had alternator check and replaced due to faulty regular. Since then had rescanned and I now have new code P0130 again oxygen sensor P0341 camshaft sensor. After watch countless videos I have determined that on Mini’s just because you have a fault code may not necessarily mean that is the problem. So unless I pay for a mechanic to spend hours searching for the root causes to my codes I would prefer using a scanner to clear all codes and then start fresh. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated
Last week I got a K+DCan cable with INPA... being the noob I am I managed to mess up the nav module (shows a black screen and on INPA says that is waiting for new software, I inserted the Nav Software CD but it doesn't read it). So right now I'm looking for a new one. The moral of my story for my case is: if is not broken, don't touch it! :( Great video, thank you for the information!

...this business of scan tools is becoming more and more critical to servicing modern cars. Thank you for this video. I've seen a review of the Launch tool at Scanner Danner. My one hope is that scan tool operators will sell just the software so that we can install it on our laptops..with Wifi capability this makes a lot of sense to me. I get frustrated that I have to buy the software and again the hardware each time I want to upgrade. Just sell the software, we already all have laptops or tablets.
This Launch tool comes very close to that. It's just an Android tablet and runs as its own app. Obviously there are background services to support the bluetooth module and for application security, but there is no obvious reason they can't just sell a dongle and let me use my own iPad.
Hi mod, i have a error 5e59 coding error on my r50 mini one 2002 1.6 cvt i cant reset or remove it with my creator c310+, any idea how can i remove or reset my code? Many thanks
My friend has the Foxwell and I was tinkering with it on my 05 r53 and thought it was super neat. It was unable to reset my service light (it shows 45,000 miles past due) and it really annoys me. I wish I could figure it out but oh well.
@@Meboyboyboy I tried that as well. I went through the test settings and I couldn't get it to work. I read somewhere online that once it gets so high, it can't be reset, but there might be another way I'm not sure
I love that you respond to all messages, even on a year old video. Have you been able to read Limp Mode codes with the foxwell or is it limited to dealership software only? Or is there another code reader capable of reading Limp Mode codes. Thanks
A limp mode code is just like any other OBD/diagnostic code, but results in computer not knowing how to safely perform AFR or ignition/valve timing calculations because some data point is no longer reliable. They will appear on the scan tool.
There are several models of the X431, How can I tell which is the latest version? Is there are a comparison chart I can look them up and see which one would be suitable to use for the work I do? Thank You, Jim
Mr. Mod Mini, I have an error code PO2097 Post cat 02. I read somewhere on the internet that this error had nothing to do with O2 sensors and that I just needed to clear adaptation. (not sure what that is) I bought a Creatdor C310. The box says it has this function but its not on the scanner. I'm working on my 2003 Mini R50. Does the Foxwell on your video do "Clear Adaptation"? Thank you in advance.. Diana

Will the Launch X431 V+ allow you to turn on and change different features to the car. example activate rear fog light? Which one would allow those types of changes?
No. Carly can do some preference changes, but to code vehicle orders you would need commercial BMW/MINI software or NCS Expert and the supporting software. That is beyond the scope of this video or a RUclips comment.
I bought a Foxwell. I haven't used scanners to much in the past. I have the Low Tire Pressure light on the dash. I had new tires installed but the light is still on. Last time this happened it was a wheel speed sensor. Could be that again. I know the Foxwell will check those but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to get to the area. Can you please direct me. 2006 R53
Go to ABS/DSC module data stream to check wheel speed sensors. If a MINI model with active TPMS with radios in the wheel wells, there is a separate module for that. I forget name but begins with the letter R I believe.
Unless I reviewed the wrong link it's like $800+ to renew the software on the Launch X431 v+. Hell might as well buy a new one. Did I catch you right about it will continue to work but lack of updates would only hinder I guess newer cars OR bug fixes?
