Got a 2006 r52. 6 speed, 17% overdrive supercharger, cat delete, cold air intake, resonator delete, clutch and some other small things. Ive had people chase me down in parking lots, trying to buy it. Its also a little more rare because its british racing green with a green top. Love this car its way too fun to drive.
I don't do anything but DRIVE while I'm driving-- no radio BS or anything distracting... just the fun of driving. I know these are fun- drove one while working as a tow driver a few years back and loved it.
My Mini mechanic used to own a 1964 Mini. Too bad he sold it. And in my area someone drives a MINI GP1 as a daily. I also used to only drive manual cars, but my wife can only drive an automatic. I even got to like using the automatic gearbox. As a downside: Most cars in Holland are manual so an automatic will cost more to buy.
My 1st Mini was a 2011 R60. I traded it in a few months ago for my lovely 2017 F60 as my Family/all season Mini. Now I'm waiting for my 06 R53 JCW! I just found a unicorn of an example so I snagged it right up! It'll get delivered later this week I'm so excited! Super cool to see a MINI of mine on your top 10 list!
@@TheMINIac May be off topic but need advice. Can buy a 2011 Mini off a lady going through a divorce for $3,000. Fax looks good from what I can tell except one minor accident 4 years ago that rear ended a car and set off air bags. Grille and bumper was replaced and repainted. See nothing that worry’s me other then it has 170,000 mikes on it. $3,000 a good buy? 2011 Mini automatic a good car?
Well, I missed my opportunity to get a 2022 JCW 2-door by 24 hours, but it looks like I will be getting my hands on a 2020 JCW Clubman this week! My dream of finally joining the ranks is about to come true!
I have an R53 with a 6 speed and Eaton super charger. It's almost as much fun as my motorcycle. As always "4 wheels move the body, 2 wheels move the soul."
I love the style, comfort and overall experience of driving a mini, I could not care less about speed, I suppose it has something for everybody. Getting a new mini next month, God willing.
R55 Clubman JCW for me, the rarest of all the production cars on here only 600 made Worldwide/231 in the UK making it extremely hard to FIND, the N18 LCI is even rarer and best option . Best looking to IMO. Deffo a future classic.
Get it inspected. Check timing chain. Those are the big things. Check the overall integrity of the motor and the car itself. If those check out, it should be a good car.
Thoughts on the R59 Roadster S / JCW? - I'm usually not a "rag top" kind of guy but one setup similar to Petrol Ped's is pretty nice. BTW - I agree with your list even though I only have a couple ones on it - I'll have to correct that over time ;-)
Funny listening to these prices. Brand new non JCW / non S 3dr Coopers are double the US price here in the Philippines. I totally understand import tariffs in countries that have a domestic auto industry to protect. But the Philippines has none! They manufacture nothing! All vehicles here are imported either from Japan, Korea, Germany, China, US, UK, and the list goes on.. I pay, because I love my MINI. (A new Dodge Challenger goes for 5X US price. Mustangs & Camaro’s, 2 to 3X) So looking for a ‘rare’ vehicle here is an untenable option.
I"m just getting interested in these---- was looking at a LEXUS GX470 but they're too big. I have one eye now and would have more fun driving this-- also I can part this easeier!! AND with my health- I don't think I"ll be "offroading " much (for the Lexus) so this would be GREAT. Which would you recommend- and what do you recommend. Currently with a 2019 Countryman S ALL4 acquired less than 12 months ago. Then I found a 2018 Countryman S ALL 4 JCW for a little under 20K kms difference than mine. Strongly considering trading it in because dealership is willing to pay the entire money owing of mine. Test drove it, no issues in & out, passed their own technician report sheet and I was smiling the entire time (I forgot to visually check brake life), and forgot to ask for service history. My only concern is the current used car interest rates. Basically now at 3.9% and if I trade in for the JCW, it'll be 10% interest rate - Any thoughts anyone????
at the time the JCW was a dealer installed kit. So yes, those 3 were, in fact, JCW's. They had a performance package for the Cooper as well back then. All 3 MINI's in the subway scene were electric cars.
