    This 49ers team was one of my favorite teams of all time and I remember watching this game at my friend's house and even afford it is for a 17-0... I don't think none of us thought that we're going to win the game because we're up that much and also that the offense of the Saints score more officer point then any offense in NFL history... and when Brandon Davis caught the last touchdowns I ran like a chicken with his head cut off screen in the air because people need to remember that the 49ers for a long time for that season were horrible but was all worth it in my opinion for that moment

  • @chaosawaits
    @chaosawaits 6 лет назад +15

    If it wasn’t for Kyle Williams, that 49ers team would have won the Super Bowl. Sorry, Alex. I hope you win one some day for KC.

    • @joesakic91
      @joesakic91 6 лет назад

      +chaosawaits I disagree. Tom Brady would've helped the Pats outlast the 49ers in SB 46.
      Only Eli Manning 2X and Nick Foles are the only QBs that beat Brady at his own game which are game-winning drives in the Super Bowl.
      BTW, I blame Greg Roman for the loss to the Giants.

      @@joesakic91 You are completely wrong with that take, sir, and here is why: The Niners had the #2 team defense in 2011, second only to the Steelers, and were #1 in stopping the run. On the field, they had the best defense in the league and when the Niners played the Steelers head-to-head on Monday Night, they proved that. Both the Patriots and Giants had sub-par defenses and were at the bottom of the NFL in defending the pass. (Giants were #29 and Patriots were #31). Alex Smith could rise to the challenge and outshot Drew Brees of all people. Let's not forget the Patriots had no business being in that Super Bowl and were only there because of a dropped TD pass and missed FG in the Championship game. The Niners prevented the Giants from crossing the 50 the ENTIRE 2nd half (including OT) and only got in Niner territory thanks to Kyle Williams. The Niners would have suffocated Brady and the Niners would have won by at least a TD had Kyle Willams not happened.

    • @joesakic91
      @joesakic91 5 лет назад +1

      @@kidzelly1120 Actually, the San Francisco 49ers were fourth in the NFL yards allowed and second in points allowed during the 2011 regular season.
      Meanwhile, the New York Giants were 27th in yards allowed and 25th in points allowed and the New England Patriots were 31st in yards allowed and 15th in points allowed.
      Those three teams were also in the Top 10 that season in takeaways with the 49ers tying with the Green Bay Packers for the most with 38, the Patriots were tied for third 34 and the Giants were tied for fifth with 31.
      There are some things that you forgot on why the Jim Harbaugh era 49ers lost those three playoff games: the little things, turnovers, points off turnovers, third-down efficiency and red zone touchdown efficiency.
      Sure, Kyle Williams had two lost fumbles against the Giants in the 2011/12 NFC Championship Game, but this where I brought up Greg Roman.
      In 2011, the 49ers offense was 31st in third-down conversions (28.11%) and 30th in the NFL in red zone touchdown efficiency (40.68%).
      In those key battles vs. NYG in the 2011-12 NFC title game...
      Turnovers: NYG 0, SF 2
      Points off turnovers: NYG 10, SF 0
      Third-down conversions: NYG 7/21, SF 1/13
      Red Zone touchdown efficiency: NYG 2/3, SF 0/1
      Now onto 2012. The 49ers offense was 15th in the NFL red zone touchdown efficiency (54.69%) and 22nd in third-down conversions (36.62%).
      In those key battles vs. BAL in SB 47...
      Turnovers: BAL 1, SF 2
      Points off tunrovers: BAL 7, SF 3
      Third-down conversions: BAL 9/19, SF 2/9
      Red Zone touchdown efficiency: BAL 2/5, SF 2/6
      Finally 2013. The 49ers offense was 17th in the NFL in third-down conversions(37.10%) and 15th in the NFL in red zone touchdown efficiency (53.03%).
      In those key battles vs. SEA in the 2013-14 NFC title game...
      Turnovers: SEA 1, SF 3
      Points off turnovers: SEA 3, SF 3
      Third-down conversions: SEA 5/14, SF 3/11
      Red-zone touchdown efficiency: SEA 0/2, SF 1/3
      In conclusion, Kyle Williams deserves some blame, but Greg Roman deserves more blame for the 49ers' failure in those three playoff losses under Jim Harbaugh that cost them at least one Super Bowl title between 2011-2013.

    The Catch trilogy by the San Francisco 49ers...
    All happened in Candlestick Park...
    All happened on third-and-three with the 49ers trailing with under a minute to go in regulation...
    All three were difficult catches in the end zone...
    All three caught by somebody wearing the jersey number between 80 and 89...
    All three occurred against bitter rivals (1981 NFCCG vs. DAL, 1998 NFC WC vs. GB, 2011 NFC DIV vs. NO)
    Catch IV: Super Bowl?!

  • @joesakic91
    @joesakic91 5 лет назад

    I bet John Taylor and Tai Streets are still mumbling, "Hey 49er Faithful, our catches should be part of 'the Catch' series!"
    Well, Taylor's grab against the Cincinnati Bengals in SB 23 was the result of a great route by Taylor and Joe Montana throwing a well-place dart.
    As for Streets' grab against the New York Giants in the 2002 NFC Wild Card Game, that was the product of a great back shoulder throw by Jeff Garcia and more known for the Giants having the second greatest collapse in NFC playoff history, blowing a 24-point third quarter lead, especially Trey Junkin's fourth quarter meltdown with two poor long snaps that didn't give the Giants a single field goal in that quarter.
