  • The TV and Radio calls of Vernon Davis' game-winning touchdown against the Saints in the NFC Divisional Playoff round.
Trailing 32-29 with 14 seconds left, Alex Smith fired a perfect catch to his tight-end Vernon Davis for a touchdown. The Niners won 36-32.
    Announcers:
Kenny Albert - FOX (National TV)
    John Henderson - Saints Radio
Ted Robinson / Eric Davis - 49ers Radio
EDIT: The Saints' announcer is Jim Henderson, not John Henderson. Sorry, my mistake.

I'll never forget this game. So freaking emotional for us 49er fans. I was (& still am) so proud of Alex Smith & Vernon Davis that day. I really wished Alex Smith played in the Super Bowl instead of Kap. He was WAY more deserving and worked harder.

I'm for the all around better qb leaving all sentimentals and dazzle behind. And that qb was Alex Smith. Been saying this since he got benched.

Eric Davis outburst describes the feelings of the 49er Nation in about 3 seconds.
Just raw emotions. Feels good to be back. In the words of a wise man I once knew:
    "Woooooo hooOOoOOOoO!!!!"
    -Eric Davis

the play by play from ted robinson & eric davis was the best, hands down. it doesn't matter how much that moment gets replayed, i instantly get a smile and feel the excitement from the announcers and stadium.

I was at this game and it will forever go down as one of the greatest moments of my life!!! After Alex ran in the bootleg TD I thought we had the game only to be crushed by Bree's shortly after. I was in the opposite End zone and when Alex threw it to VD for the game winning score.. Candlestick erupted like I've never seen before. It was simply a magical time... no one left for like 40 mins including the team. EPIC!!!

Homefield advantage for the Niner's is huge because the fan's are gonna be into the game so much...Candlestick was soooo loud imagine if they were in a dome. The pure excitement us niner fans feel is motivation enough for the team, they feed off our energy, the fans are just as hungry for a title as ever.

I'm a pats fan but I've always liked the niners. This was the game of the year so far, you got 3 potential game winning plays. Alex Smiths TD run, Jimmy Grahams 70 yard touchdown, but this was the one to win it and I don't know how Vernon hung onto that ball but he did. Congrats to the niners we'll see you guys in the super bowl

How much better would Alex be if he'd had the same offensive coordinator since his first year? 7 coordinators in 7 years. He never quit and that says a lot about him. The last two drives - his TD run and this pass - are the reasons why we Utah fans loved him when he played here during his college years.

Congrats 9ers! I wish you were playing GB this week because I felt coming into the postseason that the only team I could stomach the Pack losing to is San Fran. The Catch III in the 2011 NFC Divisional Round Game was called by Ted Robinson and Eric Davis
