Yo, Colin, wanted to say you’re one of the main reasons I started getting into aesthetics and calisthenics and have been getting better and better every day. Appreciate your content dude, keep going strong 💪🏾
No fancy editing, no begging for subs and likes, straight to the point. That's why yours videos are the best. Gonna try this 45 degree flag. Hope it will help me to achive proper flag faster. Cheers from Poland
One of the best videos I've seen about the flag. Most videos even from high profile athletes are just a bunch of time waste. You really lay down what is needed without extra bs
Amazing video. Didn't feel like you needed a physics degree to understand the movement. Felt very natural, almost like talking to someone in real life at the gym about their routine. Also, I relate to having the strength and not the technique. When I was trying the muscle up, I thought I was too weak, but I was just pulling at the wrong angle. Went from being able to barely do one sloppy one to doing 4 in a row with good form in one day after a random guy at the gym told me I was doing it wrong.
dude please keep up the vids. Love your content and your stuff is not only interesting and helpful, but also you're funny and don't act like a red pill meat head like a lot of these other creators. so i would really appreciate being able to see more of your videos. Happy holidays brotha.
Love these videos when you accomplish a goal you worked hard for.. and then you show step by step how to do it.. This human flag exercise is a real favorite of mine.. it is just so beautiful to watch.. and yeah it brings on the tears😭 Congrats on getting it done Colin.. never doubted you would 🤗 Btw love your new apartment.. especially the patio window.. don’t worry about the mattress on the floor.. we have all been there😂 Keep the videos coming.. we will be here to watch🌹 Jen999💜💙
Technique is definitely the most important part for this skill, if you are already decently strong in bodyweight exercises and solid base you can probably get the human flag almost immediately, it's actually much easier than you think.
I appreciate you sharing the journey on your workouts. Im still far behind (working on a handstand, ive built the strength. my balance and technique sucks) but your videos give a good idea of what to expect
I love how you pretty much dissect and explain each exercise and how they help you achieve your goals. I will definitely not be doing any of this because I'm not there yet but it is definitely inspiring and entertaining. Keep up the good work.
Dude you literally have my dream body. Ever since I discovered your channel I've gotten into calisthenics and working out regularly. Quite proud of it and man you helped me get motivation for it, so thanks!
00:00 🇺🇸 To learn the Human Flag, focus on building general strength, pushing, pulling, and core strength. 00:28 💪 Core strength is essential for the Human Flag; practice exercises like side planks and variations to build a strong core foundation. 00:56 🧘 Incorporate core exercises like hollow body holds, leg raises, and toes to bar to enhance your core strength. 01:10 🚩 Start with 45° Three Flags to work the same muscles needed for the Human Flag; gradually lower the angle as you progress. 01:24 🤸 Train the handstand and one-arm pull-up progressions to develop shoulder strength, which is crucial for the Human Flag. 02:04 🙆♂ Handstand holds against the wall and one-arm handstand progressions help build the necessary shoulder strength. 03:06 💪 Strengthen your pulling muscles with one-arm pull-up progressions, including dead hangs, scapular shrugs, and active hangs. 04:15 🏋♂ Train the actual Human Flag exercise; begin with kicks and negatives, progressively raising the angle as you get more comfortable. 05:12 🔄 Learn the correct technique for the Human Flag, focusing on keeping your arms straight, the grip position, head alignment, and pushing/pulling with effort. 06:36 🏡 The presenter introduces his new apartment and hints at future consistent RUclips content.
thanks for your content. i like that it isnt polished, it looks raw and real. keep it up and all the best for sorting life. btw. get something below your mattress so fresh air can vent below or you will have mold in your mattress.. just saying.
hey Colin, been watching your channel from Seoul, Korea! Love your material - pushes me to become a better athlete / person every day Was wondering if you had any insight on warmups / stretching and injury prevention. Curious about your expert opinion! Happy holidays and have a great rest of the year! 🥳
I basically built the foundational core strength by doing easier flag variations; mainly the Clutch Flag and the X-Flag. Another thing that helped me was doing heavy weighted pull-ups and monkey press. These were just a couple of things that helped me get it. I was able to get it within 6 months.
Hey Colin! Great video, happy to see you posting again :) The majority of Human Flags on RUclips seem to be done holding 2 parallel bars - but the majority of your ones in this video are done holding both hands on the same vertical bar. Could you confirm which one of those is best? I am building my own calisthenics gym so not sure which option I should build.
have you ever considered becoming a personal trainer? i find your videos really informative and you come across as very supportive and nonjudgmental. i feel like you would be really popular if you decided to pursue that as an option. and great video as always, dude. i cant wait to see what youre cooking up for us next!
Your content is really clean bro, been bringing a lot of your recommended exercises into my workouts. But what I fr wanna know is, how do you get your hair like that? It looks dope!
1:25 I'm a noob and it's January. Do you think i can do this in 6 months? I've been doing squats and chinups for a few years consistently, but I'm still a noob. 🇺🇸
I am stuck while keeping my hands straight in the trasition from L sit to handstand , i just can’t lock my elbow mid transition (i fear i might break) but when i try to do it with bended elbow i can seamlessly so the transition (on parallettes ) anything i should try to get it?
Thanks for the new info regarding technique, makes all the difference. Nice apartment. Is it your intention to keep your channel focused on workout advice or will you expand your content to give us a look at Colin Murray 360?
Hey Colin, how much do you weigh right now? Edit: I'm also a 6'3 redhead who sleeps on a mattress on the floor, but I use sweatPANTS as a pillow and not a sweatshirt
@@colinmurrayYT thanks! I need to shed some fat, wonder how similar our builds are. I wear a XXL shirt due to shoulders being broad. Looking forward to more content from you. It's gonna be great :)
Go Go dude You have a sympathic attitude and its pleasant to watch your videos. Keep the calm composure and pls pls pls don't succumb to this "hype youtubing thing" where you just talk so fast the words could overtake themselves like race cars. Thats what makes your channel unique. You could up you video editing skills though and I think its a make or break thing for YT views.
Thank you bro I’ll keep go going! And I’ve been working on the edits the vid I’m posting tomorrow is actually so cool in my opinion! I appreciate the advice, good luck with the flag🙌
Hey colin I really wanna do calisthenics but Idk how hard it will be for me because I’m currently 20 and I had a late grow spurt now I’m 6’7 195 any tips for me ?

Agreed! I plateaued training for the skill bc I was using incorrect technique then I fixed the technique and it held it for 5 seconds easily.
