How to create a Bootable USB Flash Drive from DMG image in Windows 10

In this tutorial we will show you step by step how to create ans make a bootable USB Flash Drive from a Mac OSX .DMG image file from Windows 10 (Sometimes called pen drive / thumb drive) so you will be able to put it on a Mac OSX ( Macintosh ) Apple computer and boot it to startup a Mac installation without the need of another Mac machine, after it will format your USB memory you wont be able to see any file system recognized by Windows because it will probably be in HFS format, but don't worry, you will be able to see it on a Mac, boot it and install it.

This is not rocket science. It fix solution and works for me. I used transmac in the past. This will resolved issue with missing bootable drive with new hard drive installations.

It doesn't work on my macbook, doesn't recognize the usb after I power up and keep the options button pressed.
Even used the disk part of macbook to turn usb to GUID

i was able to install mountain lion osx via transmac but i cant get mavericks or el capitan to work. The usb just doesnt show up when i press the option button only works if its mountain lion ? i have a 2008 early mac book pro

Edited: after several hours of watching videos on RUclips all advising use transmac, it seems they don't understand the contest so this is usless on recent OS X, transmac seems to be useful when you're trying to make a hackintosh PC or trying to install old OS X like mountain lion on a Mac. If you're simply trying to install OS X recent versions, the only way is to make the bootable usb from another working Mac.

Unless you're installing an old version of Mac OS, then the image should be a .dmg file.

you have to right-click the usb and select "format disk for mac" first bc it needs to be changed from MBR to GPT partition. Then select the "restore with disk image" option.
