@@NumberDZ I followed all the steps of your 3 videos about it. But when I started to install after 3 minutes it says: ”This copy of install OS El Capitan application can’t be verified. It may have been corrupted or tampered with during downloading.”

I did over and over again and it shows always the same message.
Delete the installation package that you are using and download it again, if you created a USB bootable drive format it and create it one more time with a new copy of the OS X, I recommend you to download directly from Apple servers don’t use third party websites, you get that error because sometimes the installation package is damaged
@@NumberDZ I did it and didn't work😥, but I found on RUclips a guy that shares how to fix this problem. Just go to terminal and switch the date of the download. Like I did it today 11/24/ 10:00/2020 put this data not 2 years ago and it is actually finishing the installation. I think maybe in the description you could write to your viewers to set the date of download.

Hi thank you, but you forget to speak about the name of the osx apps, for french for example, the name of the apps is INSTALLER OS X El Capitan.apps download but in the code you must write Install and not Installer in french, its the same for all the languages.

I used an external hard drive to boot up my Mac that was having hard disk issues . I reinstalled Mac OS X Yosemite and the computer works again but now I'm not sure how to recover my files.
i plan on running the terminal code from a friend's iMac (2011 running El Capitan), and they are worried if running the code with affect their computer in any way. will it? I need to be sure because I really don't want to mess up their iMac. I'm downloading El Capitan for my mid 2009 MacBook Pro.

My Macs are all running Big Sur, but i've an 2012 MacBook Pro lying around that i would love to reinstall with El Capitan or some other OSX to give it to my daughter. But how could i get the createInstallMedia tool on one of my Big Sur machines, to create that installation media for ElCapitan? Those OSX Downloads would not install/start on my machines.?
You can download any OSX on Big Sur but you can’t open the installer, in this case you don’t need to open the installer, you simply need to download it and create the bootable drive, if your MacBook is a 2012 you can use internet recovery mode to install the OSX no bootable drive is needed
What if you are downloading a os from the App Store that is different from what you have installed for an earlier Mac that you want to create the usb installer for?

Under my Disk Utility, I don't have an option for SCHEME, so I can't set it to GUID Partition Map. I only have the option to change the NAME and FORMAT. What do I do?

If you want Mavericks replace “MyVolume” with this command, OS\ X\ Mavericks
(Make sure to copy the entire code for Mavericks that is in the description of the video, if you miss a letter or number it is not going to work)

Because the commands have it listed under the applications folder. Move it to the applications folder.

Your disk may be encrypted, there are videos on RUclips on how to solve that issue

@@TonyisToking I found out the problem, at least for me. I didn’t open the .pkg file to install the installer (I was making an installer for El Capitan) so make sure to open that file, and then go through the installation process for the installer. Then you can run the command. If u have any questions about that then just respond. I hope this helped!

Tried mounting the .dmg - but if I open .pkg - I have no option but allow Mac to scan my OS to see if I can even install this on my Mac - obviously not, cause its 2019 Macbook Pro..

I trust a 100 percent that it works but on my imac core 2 duo from 2006 i can't get it to work but i'm not the greatest with computers but all i want is to resett the devices what obviosly isn't possible bc. I don't get the bootcenter when i press cntrl r and updsting the device also foesn't work so i'm stuck at mac os x 6.8
you could use a boot device that has Mac OS "lion" update 10.7.. then after you move to mountain lion. you're not stuck. you just are unable to netboot (booting without a physical boot drive) but if you're lucky enough just updating in that order may help you

If you get the "corrupted" error don't change the date, keep the current date, that should solve the issue.

All depends on the OS that you want to install, most of them are 5GB and more, your 4GB won’t be enough. Also make sure to use an USB instead of micro SD, it will be more functional.

There are many videos on RUclips on how to partition the drive and add multiple installation packages. I am not sure if you can mix it with windows installers, I am not familiar with windows computers and their software.
Screw that! just have a seperate USB stick for each os. If you must try putting multiple os's on one stick start with various linux distros.

Make sure to copy and paste the code in terminal and replace “MyVolume” with the name of your USB, also make sure the version of OS X that you are trying to create is compatible with the computer

You need an installation disk to restore to Lion

You need to “burn” the dmg file to a disk but for that you need an optical disc drive there are some videos on RUclips on how to do it

Leave the installer in your applications then do the process to create the bootable usb

The installer will be copied to your usb drive, this will be the most important piece to reinstall your OS X on the solid state drive
Hi, I’m getting an error message on the terminal screen, it does the copying files to disk and then the making disk bootable but then says after a while “couldn’t mount dmg (error code 110) mount of outer dmg failed. Just to add the usb stick does end up having the installer on it. I have checked all the usuals like the matching names and formatting the usb correctly so no idea what it could be? Sorry to be a pain but really appreciate the help 👍
Sometimes the installer doesn’t download correctly, what OS X are you trying to install? Also what is the year and model of your mac and what is the OS X that your computer is running?. your computer might be compatible to use internet recovery mode this will make your life way easier
SO GUYS I HAVE ONE EXTRA INFORMATION, AFTER REBOOTING AND TRY TO BOOT TO USB THERE'S A CHANCE IT WILL SAY INSTALL MACOS (NAME OF OS VERSION) IF YOU TRY TO BOOT THERE YOU WILL BOOT BACK TO YOUR SYSTEM SO JUST RESTART ONCE AGAIN AND HOLD OPTION KEY IT WILL NOW SAY EFI BOOT THEN YOU CAN NOW INSTALL MAC FROM YOUR BOOTABLE USB
What about Snow Leopard and Lion? What are the codes?
The codes are similar just change the first section of the code to the name of your OS X installer, I didn’t add them because Leopard and Lion are not very common anymore
In other words wherever I see Mountain Lion in the command I must substitute \ Snow\ Leopard. ??

You are typing it! Just it doesn't show you what you are typing. Type the password and hit enter and if there is a typo error just hit delete key couple of time,It still won't show you but it works!
