@@malkeetsinghacademy6322 it definitely did, thanks again. I am having a little trouble still though, maybe you could help me? Basically, I’m changing the ssd card to one that has more storage. I’ve booted the laptop up through that bootable usb and dowloaded OS X El Capitan onto the laptop. But my issue is, is that the laptop isn’t picking up any internal storage. Another video I was following had the same issue, and said that’s you need to make the bootable usb, boot it up through that usb and then it would just “work out” (but they didn’t go through the process to do that) then they got the storage to show up but I don’t know how he did it. Is there any way you could help me at all?

I have an early 2009 macbook that I want to upgrade to SSD. So once I created this thumb drive, I will install the SSD in my macbook, insert the thumb drive installer, press power then press/hold option button until I see the option for installing? Is it possible to create a bootable drive of lets say High Sierra and install it on a unsupported mac? My 2008 iMac only supports unto El Capitan I think.... Also do you have to delete older operating systems before installing a bootable pen drive with a newer operating system?
Actually this will not work as os detectd hardware configuration...so in your case Mac 2008 doesn't support high Sierra
if i wanted to partition a thumbdrive for el cap. and HIgh Sierra, could i rewrite the comand line as( X\ High\ Sierra ) or ( X\ HIgh Sierra\ )
You could but you must have installer file of High Sierra DMG in your application folder 👍
hi! thanks fir the video. tried dowloading from the mac website but it doesn't work. I downloaded from a third party but my mac does not accpet its installation. I have an old mac that I am trying to reboot with a flash drive. I have created the partitions, how can I install the El Capitain on my Big Sur
Try this link support.apple.com/en-us/HT211683 . You will find all the DMG files here in official website. Sometimes 3rd party doesn't work
Is the process similar if you wanted to make a bootable OSX Yosemite USB flash drive for clean installs etc. just with a different command line?
The process is a lot similar but there is change in command line
doooood thank you! i found a text tutorial but it didn't work. this video did. i think the text tutorial skipped the partition step. either way, this worked fantastically! thank you
Thanks bro 😊

Can you do this method from the windows + R button in the recovery boot screen using usb drivers? I cannot update at all. Via WiFi or back up.
You can download all the drivers manually from apple website.
so for mojave's we can name pen drive as MojaveOS and same in that sudo code line? will that ok, or we have to only use untitled?
Yes you have to change in the sudo command whatever you name your pendrive
I have an old iMac, early 2009, who recently crashed. I installed mac os 10.5.8 that came with the supporting cd. Now I am trying to upgrade to OS X El Capitan, but the system does not allow the .pkg file to install the app. I have also a mac mini running Big Sur, but also there this procedure does not work (to create a bootable USB stick with the new Mac in order to install the El Capitan to the old Mac). Could you please give me a solution? Thanks in advance.
Download the DMG installation file. Link is given in the description box. Then you can easily upgrade your Mac 👍. I hope it will definitely work
So you need to have a Kona book it can be a hq laptop by any chance?
I don't understand your question
really hope you see this and know how to help. i screwed up and now all .dmg files are associated with unarchive. They don't run on their own now. i'm trying to make the USB stick drive bootable with el capitan but i can get the command line to work in the terminal. i currently have ventura installed on my macbook. i'm really wanting to install el capitan on an old imac. can't seem to get shit working.
Hello there in order to install el capitan you need a lower version of OS. You cannot directly downgrade your OS from a higher version of OS such as Ventura. I suggest you to install parallel desktop software and then create bootable drive from there
Thank you sir..i am trying it right now...i have a MBP mid 2010 model that i tried to get ti mac os but failed but now its running windows 10...freezes and crashes alit...hioe this mac os will work...i am copying the installer files trough the terminal...i expected it to be harder but your explanation was great!
Window 10 doesn't work perfectly in MBP. I have tried it several times. It is really a lot of pain 😅 to see the cursor hanging there
Couldn't make this work. Running Monterey (12.1) on a 2017 iMac. When I try to open the installer package to the applications folder, a window pops up that says "This package will run program to see if the software can be installed." After I click "allow," another window pops up that says "This version of OS X 10.11 cannot be installed on this computer."
I'm trying to make a bootable disk for an old 2011 MacBook Pro. I had erased the system software expecting a clean reinstall and am not able to reinstall the OS X through the usual manner (command +R) at startup, etc.
Any advice would be appreciated as the MacBook is currently a paperweight. Great video, BTW!
Thank you Jack. Actually you cannot downgrade your OS from a higher version of OS. Either you can use someone's else's system to create bootable pendrive because higher version will not let you create a downgrade OS
Thank you!
My pleasure 🙏
do you need an internet connection to install it from a usb or you can do it offline ( I have the dmg file downloaded)

Hello Matt you can try with first partitioning and then erasing the flashdrive. but you can go ahead if it is greyout
Also if you get the black screen of death again restart the comp and hold options and boot to the hd where you installed the os, I panicked for a bit, this fixed it!
