Very thorough, high quality tutorial. I rate it 10/10, this is a prime example of how tutorials should be. Thank you!
Right, Here's a clear and straightforward explanation.
I'm using your video to help a good friend to make a disk image of his system disk. I do appreciate you adding instructions for the various partition methods. Thanks for providing these instructions. They help tremendously.
Excellent tutorial. Much better than most other tutorials that require an external USB M2 adapter to clone an SSD to s higher a capacity one.
Thanks!
That was most excellent, my man....
Thank you so much for this information and easy to follow guide.
Exactly what I needed to know. Nicely done.
Perfect tutorial and very thorough explanation of everything. Thanks!

Return of the king
Hi! I have been struggling with disk cloning for more than a week. I have tried my luck with Macrium Reflect but always ended up with errors.

This is the best tutorial video on this subject. Every section is explained in detail and supported with valid information. Thank you a million times!

By the way, for anyone experiencing Windows boot errors, I suggest removing the source disk after the cloning process. Trying to boot with both disks caused conflicts for me.
Do the cloning, shutdown your computer, remove the original source disk, boot with the clone.
Very helpful. Thank you.
Very nicely done video. It's appreciated. Thanks.
Great tutirial! Thank you!
A most excellent tutorial! Thank you!

Great video, well done
Dude great tutorial!
Great video. I've used Clonezilla to clone various linux drives but never partitions which would be handy restoring to a smaller SSD. Thanks!
Good stuff! Thanks!
Excellent.
Thanks
perfect tutorial for me since I was upgrading my girlfriend's laptop from 256gb to 2tb and it only had one ssd slot
Great tutorial, THX! Can I also recover the image on a completely different Windows machine? What are the pitfalls?
Is there a way you can mount the Clonezilla image if, say, you need to get a couple of files off of the image?
You're amazing!
Was it necessary to reinstall windows 11 in 10:55 ?
I have a question, after making clone of windows on flashdisk, if i format the windows hardisk and install linux on the hardisk, can i restore windows back? (With linux still on the hardisk)
I used clonezilla once to migrate win11 os boot ssd from 512 GB to 2TB. OK, I was able to copy win11 over and it worked; but I could not do WINDOWS UPDATE. I assume Microsoft win11 can detect if it was cloned and will block windows 11 updates. I wonder if anyone got it to work or some trick. So for now I think it is better to do a fresh win11 install on a new ssd.
This has nothing to do with the cloning process. But with the HWID I would assume. Your windows was most likely also unactivated after the cloning process, simply reactivating should be sufficient. Or the update process was already broken in the first place.
Next time try Dell image assist.
When creating a folder to save the images in the destination drive, Clonezilla will not recognize the folder if it has a space in the folder name. For example, I created a folder named "clonezilla images" that Clonezilla did not recognize. Only later did I realize that the folder name either should have no spaces or use an underscore to represent a space in the folder name.
How do you skip a drive. I have a 4 TB drive G. How do i get CZilla to skip that drive so the iso is not too big for restore
Wonder if this wud wrk for romsets.
What's your screen resoluation
Excellent tutorial, Can you please advise whether this copy all application registration with their key.
Clonzilla is free and open source
I bet clonezilla copy keys too.
Does it work on encrypted drive ?
how to record the screen while using Clonezilla ?
W
can i clone my operativesystem and the boot even if i have other partitions that i dont want in the backup?
yes
Hey I can't get rufus to put the iso onto the external usb drive. It keeps failing with an undetermined error. Any suggestions?
Are you using .iso file ? Try ventoy into usb. Can search tutorial of it.
Rufus does not work with external USB drives. Ventoy does.
Got to 9:22 to start imaging and it failed. Something about not enough space. I'm using a 64 GB USB. I don't understand.
If you are imaging a SSD with Windows and a lot of data and programs, there is a good chance that your image will be over 64GB and you'll need to save it to a bigger drive.
Can it clone a Hackintosh boot disk?
I believe it can. Clonezilla does support APFS.
What if I want to save the image to my hard drive? What do I do then?.
you must have a source and destination. you can not save back to the drive/partion you are trying image/clone
@@marcc5768 not even in a different partition? In the same hard drive?
@@acid1787 you can, but it's a lot of stress on drive.. especially if it's a spinning drive
@@marcc5768 I'm using an ssd and tried to clone my local disk C which has the os to another partition named local disk D. But clonezilla won't let me. It does the cloning process to 100% then gives me this error message "clonezilla failed to save partition dev sda2"
Be careful, you can lost some Windows services. I lost Device Association Service and now my bluetooth doesn`t work. Still looking for the solve without reinstalling whole system, sfc and dism didn't help. If someone know a solution, pls help
Disk genuis application is more easy to use
Clonezilla fails too easily especially with semi-bad disks and when resize is needed.
2 things would have been helpful. 1) Say that it takes a long time to download clonezilla. 2) explain how you get rufus for linux
lol
