    Excellent tutorial. Much better than most other tutorials that require an external USB M2 adapter to clone an SSD to s higher a capacity one.
    Thanks!

    Hi! I have been struggling with disk cloning for more than a week. I have tried my luck with Macrium Reflect but always ended up with errors.
    Thank you for sharing this AMAZING tutorial. Thanks to you, finally, I was able to clone my disk successfully!
    This is the best tutorial video on this subject. Every section is explained in detail and supported with valid information. Thank you a million times!
    --
    By the way, for anyone experiencing Windows boot errors, I suggest removing the source disk after the cloning process. Trying to boot with both disks caused conflicts for me.
    Do the cloning, shutdown your computer, remove the original source disk, boot with the clone.

    I was just browsing the internet aimlessly, looking around for more info about Sonic Drive-In's POS system OS image, and came across this.

    I find it awesome it is actually copying bit per bit, sector by sector so it is a 100% copy of the source operation system. Really the only thing it doesn't account for are bad sectors, so make sure you are using clonezilla on healthy storage drives.

    I used clonezilla once to migrate win11 os boot ssd from 512 GB to 2TB. OK, I was able to copy win11 over and it worked; but I could not do WINDOWS UPDATE. I assume Microsoft win11 can detect if it was cloned and will block windows 11 updates. I wonder if anyone got it to work or some trick. So for now I think it is better to do a fresh win11 install on a new ssd.

    • @mathiasdeweerdt1400
      @mathiasdeweerdt1400 6 месяцев назад +6

      This has nothing to do with the cloning process. But with the HWID I would assume. Your windows was most likely also unactivated after the cloning process, simply reactivating should be sufficient. Or the update process was already broken in the first place.

    When creating a folder to save the images in the destination drive, Clonezilla will not recognize the folder if it has a space in the folder name. For example, I created a folder named "clonezilla images" that Clonezilla did not recognize. Only later did I realize that the folder name either should have no spaces or use an underscore to represent a space in the folder name.

    • @TheHowToGuy123
      @TheHowToGuy123  8 месяцев назад

      If you are imaging a SSD with Windows and a lot of data and programs, there is a good chance that your image will be over 64GB and you'll need to save it to a bigger drive.

    • @TheHowToGuy123

      You wouldn't need to if you are reinstalling windows to the same PC the image is captured from. Also if you are signing into a microsoft account with a Windows license attached to it, you wouldn't need to activate again.

    • @anonymator
      @anonymator 4 месяца назад

      @@acid1787 I'm exactly with the same task and problem. Clonezilla saves to the resulting folder the smaller partitions which amount to about 900 MB of data, but when it comes to saving the large one with all the data it gives me the same error. I did it several times, I even made sure that there's enough space on the destination partition to write the system partition whole (data and free space). Still I get the same error. There are so many variables thou. My disk is nvme NTFS split to 2 partitions. I use clonezilla from Ventoy, not from standalone USB, I use it for asus notebook with their RAID storage thingy, that some imaging solutions require drivers to detect, clonezilla detected it fine. I tried to boot with secure boot and without it. I tried using clonezilla in "normal mode" and in "Grub2 mode" (this option didn't appear in this video). The same outcome.
