    Very nice video! I'm glad you didn't edit out the trials & errors.....that's how we all learn.

    This is so wholesome. That kid is definitely gonna be a huge car guy! And will be one if the last few people from his generation that can work on a car in 20 years

      He is very smart and curious and is not afraid of hard work. His father has raised him well.

    Thank you thank you thank you. You made the process look a lot more civilized and doable than other videos that I have seen. Yes it is a very serious undertaking and not for the faint of heart. Any error could be catastrophic! It was also nice to see that you had your family there helping. Excellent video.

      That is a big compliment considering the quality of content on RUclips. Thank you.

    Thank you thank you thank you you made the process seems some more it’s more relaxed than anybody else on the web. Yes it is a very serious undertaking and not for the faint of heart. Love the fact that you had your family as well too.

      Thank you. I was just trying to show that nearly any back-yard mechanic could do the job. It was fun having the family involved and it taught the children a little mechanical skills.

    I took the alternator tensioner pulley completely off and reinstalled it with the belt on it at as far off as the tension bolt would go. The new belt for sure was much stiffer. I replaced my hydraulic tensioners with completely new ones, luckily they came with pins. I think you made it harder on yourself with the interior than you had to. My car came with the subwoofer option in the center so my carpeting is a bit different but after taking seats and subwoofer out I just pulled the carpet out. Reinstalling requires a bit of finesse but is a cinch with two people. There was no need for pulling the seat belt panels and etc. One of my clutch cover bolts was also stripped but luckily it was the last one and I was able to turn it out with the inspection cover. This was a decent video with good tips

      Thank you very much. I did get a little carried away with removing panels. I might try removing the alternator tensioner next time.

    Awesome video! I’ve been curious for awhile how to replace the timing belts on a Ferrari 360.
    It’s a heck of a lot easier than the engine-out jobs on the 355 and 348 and so on huh lol?

      If I can do it in my brother's garage, it can't be that hard to do.

    Beautiful Ferrari! I hope to own a 360 someday soon while they’re still relatively affordable!

    If I’m honest, my Ducati was exactly the same process. I’m impressed that the Italians finally made something so important so simple to do.
    The Germans have disappointed me because my Audi RS6 is nearly engine out for any type of major service.

    • @myferrari3603
      @myferrari3603  2 года назад

      That is why I choose the 360 over the 355. I needed to be able to work on it without pulling the engine every time.

    Check out Elite Mechanics three part series he did on 360 major service. It’s extremely detailed.

    Would have liked to see how you confirmed the top dead center when you removed the botton cap

      I didn't. It wasn't necessary to change the belts.

    I don’t even own a Ferrari YET. But this is good info if I ever get a 360 Modena. I do like mine with a gated manual

      A gated manual is the way to go if you have the means. Thank you for the compliment and for watching.

    I feel like the timing on my S54 was more complicated then this 360
    I’ve always loved the shape of these and seem fun to work on
    Do all the 360 Modena have this rear removable access door so you can access the timing area or did you fabricate that ??

    Would’ve been helpful to see the actual removal of the belts and other steps that were frustratingly left out.

      There are other videos that show that. I wanted to show what they missed.

    Given whats at stake, if I was going to replace something as important as timing belts on my Ferrari I would BUY A MANUAL.

      Manual/RUclips - same same. But I was taking a big risk of something going very wrong.

    Why is the plastic pipe sleeve required for the crank ? Great content btw👍

    • @myferrari3603
      @myferrari3603  3 года назад +1

      You need a spacer between the bolt and the engine (in place of the pulley you just removed). You turn the bolt to get the engine to TDC.

    is this car still worth to buy? 70,000euros with manual mission. 80,000km... everybody can maintain like you? where should I go to when something is broken??

    • @myferrari3603
      @myferrari3603  2 года назад +1

      I think it is. All of the routine maintenance can be performed by a home mechanic.

    • @Wowwow-wl3kx
      @Wowwow-wl3kx 2 года назад

      if i can maintain by myself, normal people can keep ferrari. how did you learn maintenance skill?? if i buy ferrari under 90,000 euro, what is your recommend model? i am thinking F355 or 360 modena. and spider is better than normal one? please share your opinion~^^

      @@Wowwow-wl3kxif safety is a concern at all go 360, my 355 felt like a go cart that would vaporize in an accident

    How did you determine timing belt tension?

    • @myferrari3603
      @myferrari3603  10 месяцев назад +1

      Literally by plucking it and listening to it.

      I asked because I don’t believe you mentioned it in the video. Did you use the Gates app on your phone or other type of frequency meter? I’ve used both the Gates app and my Ducati cam belt frequency meter.
