Texas Hill Country Drive to Fredericksburg and Llano, Texas

Today we’re continuing our drive through the Texas Hill Country that we started in Bulverde, Texas, just north of San Antonio, to Boerne, Texas. We’re leaving Luckenbach and making the short drive over to US-290 and then to Fredericksburg, Texas.
We’ll drive down the main street of Fredericksburg and observe the German culture and architecture there. We’ll also see examples of the many shops, restaurants, wineries, galleries and more. We’ll drive past the National Museum of the Pacific War which has been chosen as the fifth best history museum in the United States.
We’ll leave Fredericksburg on state highway 16 and head into the Texas Hill Country on our way to Llano. Along the way we’ll pass near Enchanted Rock State Natural Area which features Enchanted Rock, one of the world’s largest pink granite domes with its hiking trails and nature walks. Also, on this road we'll see Texas Bluebonnets in bloom at the beginning of Texas wildflower season.
We arrive in Llano, Texas with our main objective being to eat lunch at Cooper’s Barbeque. Cooper’s is famous statewide for its pit barbeque with all the trimmings.
