After the terrific Romulus I am expecting very much of this series; especially from Noah Hawley.
Noah Hawley is a terrible choice and just because he has done acclaimed doesn't mean his Alien show will be good.
@@NebLlebno real reason to hate the him directing it if his a really great director than he’ll be able to adapt to the series and make a good product even if the show itself isn’t true to alien lore it never hurts to get a bit creative even in AVP 2 which was a horrible film the idea of the xenomorphs running city’s was incredibly cool they could also have it be non canon like AVP and have it be it’s own thing
1. Studio execs have more power than directors, and there's nothing they like more than cashing in on name recognition because the difficult and costly part of building the name is already done. Even if Hawley has great ideas and a great vision, it's going to be compressed.
2. Romulus is a story about NPCs and feels written by AI (which.. is much more possible than you'd think, considering the AI scare was only a year or two ago, which is time enough for the film to have been based on an AI script). The only actual creative liberties in the film are ignoring the queen as a part of the life cycle (Ridley Scott has always hated it) and the new rules with facehuggers detecting heat and sound. When it plays, it plays hard, but it's so utterly copy/paste that it's basically a ride at a theme park. You're not there for the narrative at that point.
3. Personally, I wouldn't know about Hawley, but xenomorphs on Earth are extremely difficult to get right because the environments are open, familiar, and safe. The reason it's terrifying that no one can hear you scream in space is because you are genuinely alone, your options are extremely limited, and your consequences are extreme in every direction. Removing that would mean you'd have to come up with either another environment to ramp up the pressure - like underwater or in an aircraft or, yes, a prison - or doing the same by introducing new elements, which is very dangerous for known IPs because there will inevitably be people calling it disrespectful (like Romulus' wall vaginas).
If nothing else, I don't mind that Romulus plays out like a birthing horror film. It made me cross my legs and tense up, and I'm not even a woman. lmao

Exactly. Aliens on earth should be set AFTER Alien 3. Having it set before the trilogy makes Ripleys efforts and sacrifice to stop the Aliens getting to earth pointless if they've already been here and it was no big deal.

Why is there a xenomorph? This show takes place 30 years before the first Alien. If Weyland Yutani had encountered a xenomorph on earth itself prior to the first movie, there would be no need for their hunt across space for another one

If the Legend of Korra gets a live action adaptation on Netflix, like Avatar: The Last Airbender, I want Noah Hawley as the show runner.
Noah hawley is one of thr most underrated showrunner in the business. The guy made two fantastic shows thar dont have the fame it deserves. Its very hard to get me hyped with anything, but im conpletely right now. Dying to see what he is going to do with Alien. Just bring it.

I actually saw this in theaters to watch alien romulus and after seeing this on screen before movie started it made me hyped ... there will be more alien news in 2025 but they have to do this good.
I do hope they draw from the comics and make this take place in a future earth. We get to see the various major powers and mega corporations respond to Xenomorphs attacking, and I’m all for it!
I was excited until I looked it up: This is a prequel set three decades before Alien. ANOTHER prequel? I thought this was gonna be something set after Resurrection.
I blame George Lucas. He is the reason why Star Wars, Star Trek, Alien and countless other franchises are stuck in "prequel" mode.

Yeah, no. LV-426 was humanity's second contact with the Xenomorphs, outside of however the Company learned about the Space Jockeys (not Engineers, the guys from Dark Descent) derelict in Alien which would have been the first. Xenomorphs didn't arrive on Earth until the events of Earth-Hive. I'll take the Dark Horse Comics over the Marvel ones.

I was so exited to see Colonial Marines and Weyland-Yutani combat synths going up against Xenomprphs and Yautja on some distant jungle world but no it had to be on Earth because of budgetary reasons which just means it shouldn't have been made in the first place.

This movie will be set the year before the main events of Prometheus meaning the ship and all its crew will already be in space at this point. So no appearance from any of them other than flashbacks or a flashforward

Because this guy is an idiot and thinks that skipping the canon is going to contribute to the saga and to correct you, the creature you see in Covenant is just the attempt of David to re create the xenomorph,they existed before and most likely is the engineers creation.
David only recreated the xenomorph using the engineers blueprints. The black goo that the engineers used, is extracted from xenomorphs, so they’re very ancient. Hence why there was a mural of a xenomorph in the head room in Prometheus.

Already did that in Alien vs Predator. I guess Ripleys efforts and sacrifice to stop the Aliens getting to earth were a waste of time as they've been here multiple times and it's been no big deal.

Actually, in the comics there is a worldwide war called “Earth war” and it’s actually pretty good. At the very least, it’ll be cool to seem them on an actual planet in a movie (outside of AVP2)

A synopsis from Deadline explained that the show would "deal with the emergence of the story’s infamous Weyland-Yutani Corporation and the race between corporations to create new android life." So more than likely no alien

It was already alluded to in Romulus, and Prometheus itself that David wasn’t the original creator.
Their are many casts of xenomorph. David's is just one type. He didn't create them. Just made is version
That was never the case anyway. They existed prior, David just created a specific type/genome of them. People misconstrued David as being the sole creator for some reason but that was never the case.

The xenomorph was supposed to be created by David in Covenant which takes place later. The timeline makes less and less sense.
