Canyon of the Eagles park in Burnet is cool too. Not far from Inks lake and Longhorn Cavern, It’s no state park. But it’s a great summer spot. Nearby is also the Vanishing River Cruise. Where you tour the lakeside cliffs, and can see Bald Eagles, and Ospreys.

Canyon of the Eagles park in Burnet is a fantastic destination! It's conveniently close to both Inks Lake and Longhorn Cavern, making it a great addition to any trip in the area. We always love finding spots outside state parks, thanks for the recommendations.

You can book campsite 5 months in advance and day passes 30 days in advance. Depending on the terrain you might invest in hiking boots. I started off just wearing sneakers 😊. We have tons of parks near us and would just check them out. South Llano SP and Lost Maples are just two hours away from us. Abilene State Park is 1hr away. I know you and the family would love it.
