Canyon of the Eagles park in Burnet is cool too. Not far from Inks lake and Longhorn Cavern, It’s no state park. But it’s a great summer spot. Nearby is also the Vanishing River Cruise. Where you tour the lakeside cliffs, and can see Bald Eagles, and Ospreys.
Canyon of the Eagles park in Burnet is a fantastic destination! It's conveniently close to both Inks Lake and Longhorn Cavern, making it a great addition to any trip in the area. We always love finding spots outside state parks, thanks for the recommendations.
Devil’s water hole isn’t that deep. Many of us have hit bottom. Jumping from the top rock. Up the creek from there is a wicked water fall, after a good rain.
Last time we went was in October and it was nice. I know with drought the water levels could be lower. We look forward in revisiting Burnet Texas soon.
The last time I visited Pedernales falls. They said they ban swimming. That was pre Covid.
You can swim inside the park, just not where the main falls are.
@@MrSTravelQuest Thanks for that info’. I’m going to tell my Gf tomorrow.
@@8arrows it’s a nice park, tons to do.
Travis County is currently creating a new state park on the south side of highway 71. It’s going to be huge. With all the developments going up along Highway 71. It is great news that more lands are being protected. I will be one of the first in line. When it opens. I don’t know the name of the park yet. But it will be between Hamilton pool, and Pacebend Park. I believe on old Reimer’s land. There IS already a Travis county park named Reimer’s ranch. Right next to Hamilton pool. I wonder if it is the same property being made into the new park.
I know they have Palo Pinto Mountains being developed and Devils River Dan A. Hugh Unit. They’re the newest ones being opened soon. It’s going to be amazing!
@@MrSTravelQuest I never ventured west to the Pecos River nor Devil’s River But they’re both on my bucket list.
@@8arrows Devils River hold a special place for me. It’s beautiful and remote. It’s worth checking out when you have the time.
@@MrSTravelQuest yeah from what I seen online it’s beautiful.
I wish Texas would declare the Llano slabs in Kingsland Texas a State park. Recent property owners keep harassing families who been swimming there for their whole lives. I been going there for 50 years. I know people went there before I started going there.
I know they actively look for places at fair market price. Most of the time the parks are leased or donated to the state. That would be a cool place for a Texas state park.
The bats across the river from my place along the Lower Colorado River come around once a year in August. They come out at exactly 7pm
Which part of Texas? I’ve seen some amazing bat colonies from caves to bridges. We always like highlighting them on our channel 😊
@@MrSTravelQuest they are exiting caves made at Huber Quarry. You can view them from Max Satrke Road. The road, and quarry are on he South side of Lake Marble Falls Texas. But from Mable Falls, they move all up and down the Lower Colorado River. And eventually the colony moves eastward. To colonize under the Congress Avenue Bridge. In Austin Texas.
@@MrSTravelQuest huh. I answered you question but my answer doesn’t show up that I posted it. Long story short. They come to Marble Falls. Along Max Starke road. They exit caves at Huber quarry. But you can view them from Max Starke Road . Every August at 7 pm. Max Starke is a dam, and that road leads to the dam, and the bluebonnet fishing camp.
@8arrows I have to check that out. I drive out in that direction once a week. Do people still swim it now, would love to highlight cool waterholes across the state.
@@MrSTravelQuest folks from these parts love going to the Llano Slabs in Kingsland Texas. That you seen me mention in other comments. And there is also Devil’s waterhole off Park Road 4 at Inks Lake State Park. I would not recommend anyone swim in Lake Marble Falls, nor Lake LBJ. Currents are strong some days on Lake MF. And Lake LBJ has had history of brain eating ameba. And reckless boaters. Pacebend Park is also a Travis County Park near Bee Cave, along the Pedernales River. Where the river meets upper lake Travis, people frequent to swim, along with Krause Springs in Spicewood Texas. Pacebend is super dangerous. Every year there is horrible news about drowned people. The currents made from boats pushes swimmers into alcoves and caves beneath the water. Hence why many victims are never found. We stick near the beach to swim, and away from the limestone cliffs, underwater caves, and alcoves.
Just watched 10 videos on Glasgow and this was by far the best one, really like the detail you packed in without giving an overload of info. Instant subscribe! 👏🏼
Thank you so much! We loved visiting the city and feel we captured its essence well. Glasgow boasts fascinating history and countless activities to enjoy. We can't wait to return and explore more of its hidden gems.
West end Kelvingrove Gallery, Botanical Gardens and Byres Road are my favourite spots not to be missed for sure.
Can’t wait to check those out on our next visit. Any restaurants you recommend we should check out?
dude your video was hecka good thank you
Appreciate it, we hope you visit and check it out. Its amazing!
No big deal.
Only $8 bucks a month, still cheaper than most theme parks,
Cool
It's pretty cool, we rode it before jumping in Barton Springs.
@@MrSTravelQuest I believe they're still running the trains at Breckenridge Park in San Antonio.
@@hikingwithjackieboy I have to check that one out next.
Glaz-go
Where in Texas is this? This is beautiful!
Garner State Park, Concan Texas.
💯🇺🇲. 👍🏻
Do Chalk Bluff next, Uvalde tx
I’ll add that one to my list this summer.
Don’t touch the rocks in the cave💀
That’s what happened on our tour and those folks were escorted out.
Awesome collection of waterfalls. They are each beautiful and unique in their own way. We visited McKinney Falls when we passed through Texas on our road trip. It was a super cool place to visit. Take care and have a great day.
Texas boasts stunning waterfalls that rival even those in Hawaii. While creating this video, I discovered that the true gem of waterfall wonders lies in Zimbabwe 🇿🇼. Crafting this content was a joy, and I'm thrilled you appreciated McKinney Falls.
I'm going to Dublin in September, and will be my first trip to Ireland. Great video and itinerary. Slainte
You’re going to have a blast! If you have any questions let us know.
I hope that they apply that extra money and the money available to the parks by the federal government to fixing up the parks. Especially the bathrooms and add A/C. You take a shower in Texas and two minutes later you are sweating.
I completely agree! Using that extra funding to improve park facilities, particularly the bathrooms and adding A/C, would make a huge difference. The Texas heat can be intense, and having air-conditioned bathrooms would greatly enhance the comfort and experience for all park visitors. Let's hope they prioritize these much-needed upgrades!

Edinburgh born & bred I think you did quite well highlighting my beautiful city. Just like to say we also have a beach in nearby Portobello & you can also take a visit to Royal yacht Brittania at ocean terminal the beloved yacht of our late Queen Elizabeth 11 used on many occasions for various state visits & royal honeymoon for our now king Charles 111 & sadly missed princess Diana Princess of Wales
Thank you for your kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed the highlights of Edinburgh. You're absolutely right-Portobello Beach is a fantastic spot to visit, offering a lovely seaside escape right on the edge of the city. The Royal Yacht Britannia at Ocean Terminal is indeed a fascinating attraction, rich with history and royal charm. We missed it on our visit, but will check it out on our next trip to Edinburgh. Edinburgh truly is a city with a wealth of experiences, from its historic landmarks and vibrant culture to these wonderful seaside and maritime attractions. If you have any more recommendations or hidden gems to share, I'd love to hear them!
still a bargain
Yes it is, comes down to under $8 a month. Thats a steal!
Still a good deal for us. Oh- I didn’t know you got a discount in the park stores! Great to know! One thing to be careful- we renewed ours and the way we did it we “lost” two months because it kicked in immediately instead of after our expiration date.
Still got a great deal, I wish we could stack them. If you stay two or more consecutive nights you receive and camping discount. Store discount is 10% on retail/rentals, which is nice.
🔵Is visiting a Texas state park still worth it despite the upcoming price hike? We'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
oh! Here it is 😃 great audio by the way 🙌
I appreciate it Ken, been working on making that better.
It’s a lousy $2 per month. Drink one less beer a month and it’ll more than pay it.
Exactly! I did the math and it’s cost around $8 per month.
Honestly that's still not bad. At least it covers the entire year, some parking tickets cost just as much! 😂 and you're right, i'd rather pay the $95 to have all that excess to any park for more than a weekend, than pay over $100 for a day or two.
Exactly! Most people I talked to don’t mind the price hike. Texas State Parks been improving their parks and expanding so that’s a plus in my book.
Lumber river state park is my favorite state park in nc. Orrum nc
We have to check it out on our next visit to NC.
Ours is good through December. Thanks for the heads up!
Good to hear! I buy one every year :-)
@@MrSTravelQuest My wife, Carol, has a similar bison photo from Caprock Canyons State Park. Beautiful animals!
@@doughutchison6382 I want to go back. Caprock one of the best places to get photos of them without a fence.
@@MrSTravelQuest We absolutely agree! We’re headed back that way very soon.
I plan on doing the same thing in the fall 😊.
I've got mine.
Nice! I just renewed mine 😊
@MrSTravelQuest since I go to State Parks quite often, it's worth it for me to get the pass
@@hikingwithjackieboy if you visit on weekends or just use it seasonally, it pays for itself.
@@MrSTravelQuest it also has the camping discount
@@hikingwithjackieboy yes and park store discounts. I always buy pins and stickers.
Still a great value in my opinion. 👍
Absolutely, it's a great deal.
We just finished this tour and loved it! Our guide was great. Sit back and relax. Enjoy the sights. The coastal road between the cliffs and Galway are picturesque, but narrow and twisty. For those used to driving on the right, avoid the car rental, and let the professional drive!
Glad you had a wonderful tour. What company did you go with?
@MrSTravelQuest Same as you did... we used that company for this tour and for the Belfast tour. Both times they often pointed out sights to explain the history. They may have taken your critical comments to heart. One outcry point. We mistakenly double booked the Galway trip and didn't discover our within their 24 hour cancelation period. However they saw that it was an obvious mistake and refunded the 2nd tour. However that had nothing to do with Mt previous comments. BTW keep up the good work!
It's great to hear you had positive experiences with the company for both the tour and the Belfast trip. It sounds like they really strive to enhance the experience by providing historical context, which makes the tours more enriching. We didn't get that experience on our trip unfortunately. It's also commendable that they handled your booking mistake with understanding and refunded the second tour, even though it was outside their cancellation period. That shows a commitment to customer satisfaction and flexibility. Thank you for your feedback, and I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the content. If you have any more insights or experiences to share, feel free to do so! Keep exploring and discovering new places!@@jstanovic
Great list! I love waterfalls and I'm glad Texas has some good ones :)
We have some great ones, I’m still exploring and finding new ones 😊
Surprised you didn't mention Chalk Ridge falls in Belton. My family had a surprisingly great time when we visited a couple of years ago.
I need to check that one out. There’s one in Presidio called Capote Falls that’s supposed to be amazing. Thanks for sharing Chalk Ridge with us.
great video and beautiful waterfalls!! hiking with Jackie boy sent me. have a good day and week!
Thank you! Kevin is awesome, thanks for watching.
@@MrSTravelQuest your welcome!
Nice video.
Thank you!
Can you tent camp there?
Yes they have camping.
Wow! Those are some great falls. I never really thought of Texas having falls. Very cool! Maybe I'll get to see one some day.
Thank you! Yes, it's surprising how many beautiful waterfalls Texas has. They're definitely hidden gems. I hope you get the chance to visit and see them for yourself one day! If you ever plan a trip, let me know-I’d be happy to share some tips on the best spots to visit.
If you're a local, its "Perden-alice" Falls. I realize that's not at all how its spelled, lol
That’s good to know, I know I’ve heard folks call it Purden-nales before too.
I have been there 5 times but I would never go during the bike race that happens every year because then you are stuck with the hard trails. At least I didn't go this week since bike race was supposed happened again
We’ve been a few times and only visiting during the fall and winter months. The heat is no joke during the summer. I bet those bike races are pretty cool with the scenic backdrop of Palo Duro.
The only one I’ve been too is McKinney Falls- I just ran (“ran” 😂) my first 10k there. Exhilarating to jump over the falls. Campground is really nice too. I recommend spots 62/65 if you are traveling with someone because they face each other on a loop! My 4 year old had trouble with the hills biking and like a ding dong I left the “follow me tandem” bike attachment at home- but older kids can ride around the loop over and over! We’ve stay their twice- one in November and once in April. November was nice because no bugs 🤣
Wow, hitting the 10k mark is impressive! I can imagine jumping into the falls felt incredibly refreshing after that invigorating run. We love going the McKinney during the fall and spring time. It’s a beautiful park and almost forget your near Austin city limits. I love that most of the trails are shaded, which is nice.
@@MrSTravelQuest Oh I didn't go over the falls.. lol I'm too much of a weeny for that.. but we ran across them for our course. It's lovely! A good halfway point for us to get to the coast - I'm sure we will go back many times over the years. We leave for a 13 state summer adventure in a few weeks! Happy and safe travels!
@@thathomemademom That's awesome! What states are you planning to visit and what are you most excited to do?

That’s awesome, what’s kind of camera does she use? We enjoyed highlighting all these places. I know Texas has some more waterfalls that we plan on checking out later this year :-)
She used a Canon Mark IV 5D with L Series lenses until recently. She now shoots with a Canon EOS R5C mirrorless. She’s also an FAA Part 107 licensed drone pilot and uses a Mavic 3 Pro in her business.
@@doughutchison6382 she’s got a nice setup. Does she do professional work? I started on Canon, but primarily shoot using Panasonic Lumix series. Thats cool she got her part 107 license. It’s nice and can get approved to fly faster.
@@MrSTravelQuest Yes, she’s a published freelance writer and photographer. She’s worked with numerous magazines, worked as a co-editor for a magazine, and published a coffee table pictorial book all about Texas law enforcement. She also owns a real estate photography and drone business photographing houses and ranches in north Texas. I retired after serving 39 years in law enforcement and I work with her as she goes about her day.
That’s amazing! I figured she had to do real estate with the drone. I bet you help her with her gigs and equipment. I do photography and videography. I focus on weddings and quince’s. I bet she has tons of lenses and memory cards. I can only imagine doing it full time. Since you’re retired, what’s been your favorite place to visit?
