    Amazing video! I never completely understood displacement so I always stuck with Normals like you said. This sheds a light on the process, thank you.

    Had the issue with scaling, though the general shape had been changed, subbtle details didn't appear while rendering. Your video helped me to understund that the issue occured becasue of I had frozen the scale. Thank you so much :)

    Hello,
    Are there any videos / courses regarding the complete setup and workflow of how you go about rendering something created in zbrush, with the arnold renderer?

    Hello, how did you transfer your UV map from Maya to Zbrash?

  • @smira5609
    @smira5609 2 года назад

    So..let's say I have a low poly mesh in maya and I want to add nice details on it. I import it to zbrush (with the uv's), make the high poly and then,because I want to animate my mesh a bit, i have to make a displacement map. Is this the correct process? And how do I import this into substance? Do I have to bake the high and low polys?
    And the other way, if I have a mesh but I don't want to animate it,(let's say I want to post it on social media)I just have to make the low and high polys and then bake them?
    But you can't animate and rig a mesh that has been baked,right?

    What about when you import with the Substance Painter Plugin for Maya? It seems to automatically add a displacement for the height map I think. Do you know what you're supposed to set the Scalar Value to in that case? Because they start off bloated looking. Similar to this video

  • @Hydr312

    Whats the difference between normalmap and displacement map? Normalmap is just "fake" and you work with low poly and displacement are real polygones? So Normalmaps are for games and displacement for render videos / images?
