@@TheStaradrian . From a European perspective, Americans do sport very well. They fund it well, and coach their athletes very well. They're basically starting from 100 years behind a lot of other places, but they'll catch up. If only 20% of Americans grow to love the game, that's still 70m people. More than enough to generate players good enough to be competitive.
If/when the US starts really taking _men's_ football seriously, they're gonna crush it - they've got the money and a massive talent pool to draw players from (the US women already do really well because as I understand it, more girls play "soccer" in the US than boys so the women's team has that crucial pipeline feeding them from schools and youth teams). That's what Beckham sees i'd say.

Drinking a Stella after not having breakfast... He is the PERFECT ambassador for Stella.
Haha such a good comment
23:58 I bet they never imagined that children would be the secret to getting so many great guests over the years. Thanks kids!
Yes!
It's always the kids! Because to us, they are cool and iconic. To them, they are Mom and Dad and not so cool 🤣😂😂🤣
15:46 this is why sean is so respected, he allows the GUEST to speak without fear of being cutoff
There was several cuts in there lol. Pretty sure it was a montage of answers to a few food questions.
It's called editing, not manners. Sean is very polite, don't get me wrong, but there were several cuts there where they strung together several anecdotes.
Jimmy Fallon could learn a lesson or 12
The "Thanks for letting me do it..." while Sean stands there starstruck, is super wholesome
A reminder of just what a truly great and genuine guy David is. A true English hero and ambassador and I’m not even a Man U fan.
There's only 1 reason to not like David Beckham and its Jealousy.
Hot Ones has been knocking it out of the park with the guests recently! Insane.
David Beckham….. the down to earth London boy who did England proud. The epitome of a Gentleman and talent that we will never see again. A true role model for kids everywhere 🫡
Becks is one of these rare types of players who had a good career, made something out of them afterwards and just seems to be such a genuinely nice guy.
Why can’t every celebrity be like David Beckham so humble and kind. one of few famous ppl who deserve the fame and money 👏🏼🙌🏼
The way he's peeling each wing like string cheese is killing me 😂
It’s so funny 😂
Less spice around the lips. He is using cheat codes.
😂😂😂😂
Sean inspires me. My parents said if i get 100k followers They'd buy me a professional camera for recording. begging u guys, literally Begging.
@@pilly1000 if Beckam wasnt so gorgeous, I'd be inclined to tell him he can't do that. Alas, he can do whatever he wants
I love the anecdote about Zidane where David called his family / friends like he wasn’t himself a huge star and very influential football player 😅. I think it shows his humility.
I'm pleasantly surprised that Beckham was still fanboying Zidane, despite being his teammate for years. So humble cause Zidane is one of the GOATs, but Beckham was the most popular player of that era
"Wayne Gretzky is a lot better than me" -Mark Messier
Honestly such a humble moment, took me by surprise!
So great to hear
And a very underrated player himself. You only have to look upon the respect shown to him by Zizou, R9, Roberto Carlos, and Figo.
David is such a down to earth genuine person. It's nearly impossible not to admire him!
I don't have this man's confidence, but I do love hearing David Beckham say the US will win the World Cup one day. Great episode.
my dad used to say that… he would say the US play style is growing and looking more like the european style
Maybe in a 100 years
If/when the US starts really taking _men's_ football seriously, they're gonna crush it - they've got the money and a massive talent pool to draw players from (the US women already do really well because as I understand it, more girls play "soccer" in the US than boys so the women's team has that crucial pipeline feeding them from schools and youth teams).
That's what Beckham sees i'd say.
One day, maybe in 1000 years
he seems like such a kind and genuine guy - glad you guys got him on
This episode had the feel of the classic episodes from back in the day. Very easy to watch
What feel is that?
@@EmArgh A feeling of honesty, I guess. The only plug was for Stella and it was a chill plug. There was minimal reference to people off-camera which made it feel more intimate, and David seemed genuinely happy to be there. Sean was visibly struggling with that last wing which added to the authenticity of it all.
My daughter loves watching you play soccer she’s 30 years old now but when she was in elementary school in high school, we played every season all year around soccer. I was a single mom and she was so inspired by you and me. I love the Spice Girls so was so awesome to see you too together and I’m so happy that you’re still together. You will probably always be in our lives in someway just checking up to see where you are at in life.
I respect Beckham's honesty.
The “be honest” part of the doc is what got me to watch the entire thing actually since the clip was going viral 😂 So happy Sean brought it up 🫶🏽
'And I still have the plane ticket.' 🥰 I loved him when I was like 6 years old. He was my favorite. I don't even care about soccer anymore, but I am so happy that he is such a genuine soul.
Beckhams dentist “so what kind look do you want? do you have an inspo photo.
Beckham “yeah” hands him a photo of George Michael “just like that please”
Considering his success, both on and off the field, it's a joy to see how grounded, unassuming and self-deprecating David is. A really genuine and kind individual. As a Scot, I, like most of the country, had a good laugh at France '98 but we didn't realise the effect it would have in the long run and how much stick and hatred he would have to face from his own people. Coming back from that must have taken serious gumption. Respect to such a nice bloke :)
10:45 that Ali G Posh & Becks interview, both parts, is a MUST WATCH 😂
the edits when he was talking about food that made it look like he went on and on was funny
I love the way they made it look like he talked about his favourite food for hours lol
Kind of looks like he did no?
Vince, Hugh/Ryan, David and Gordon has been crazy. These 4 episodes have been some of the best ever and Sean as been killing it.
David's obsessive cleaning of his side of the table is adorable and hilarious at the same time.
Such a class act, really humble and interesting guy. His story about meeting his wife did bring a tear to my eye, love how sentimental he is about keeping the plane ticket with her number. Very sweet.
THERE'S ONLY ONE DAVID BECKHAM, THERE'S ONLY ONE DAVID BEEEECCKKHAMMM 💥💥
To my favorite player of all time, thank you for the memories. I was called the left-footed Becks on my teams ... still my greatest ever compliment, other than being called Dad. 🙏
THAT moment where DAVID checked VICTORIA, was the key moment that made them endearing and HONEST.
assist of the decade
He was telling the Zidane story, and it was too adorable. He must have blushed at Zizu's comment about him. As if his crush knew who he was. Adorable!
There is only one David Beckham. As a United fan, David Beckham is an all time legend. I love you and your contribution with us Reds, Mr. Beckham.
Yeah! I think he's not as well loved by united fans as deserved. Homegrown legend, deserves the level of love that Keane and Scholes get
Beckham is the epitome of a gentleman. We can all learn from ol’ David. This was one of the best episodes. Top 5 for sure.
7:31 of course Sean had to slide “Bend It Like Beckham” in there because it’s iconic!
This wasn't what I was expecting at all!
He's a legend. I grew up watching him play. He made me love the game . He is one of a kind.
But you watch this and see this sentimental lovely person talking passionately about his family, his past and his interest. I smiled so much my cheeks hurt.
He deserves all the best, Legend. ❤
He was awesome in Beckham on netflix
It's crazy how I was at his debut for the LA Galaxy in 2007... Took a pic with him after the game. Fast forward to him being CEO of Inter Miami FC, signing Messi & me going to Messi Debut for the club. And again, taking a pic with David before the match & showing him a photo of us together from 2007... Such a genuine dude
Congrats man, that's almost 20 years ago. It's nice when stuff like that happens.
I can't wait to see Messi follow his footsteps. From players to owners. I hate anything Argentinian, but in a way seeing Messi accomplish what he has accomplished. It makes me nostalgic thinking about Maradona accomplishing what both Messi and Beckham have done! One can only wonder.
When he said that's not good 😂😂I be feeling for them but laughing too
I love how Becks keeps telling the same Zizou story over and over again. I'm here for it every time!
Absolute favorite show on RUclips. You guys don’t just ask regular questions and do the same same. You reach each guest personally and uniquely! Love the hot ones fam!
I didn’t believe becks cleaned his own house like they said he did in the doc. Until I saw him wipe the table down multiple times in this interview. Respect.
"Second worst place" 😂😂😂 17:18
The way he cleans up the table and folds the napkin after each wing 😅 if you saw the docu and how organized he is, it doesn't come as a surprise.
I have a lot more respect for Beckham since the Netflix doco came out.
Guy is a true legend of the game.
Da Bomb had his culinary life flash before his eyes
I always love how these interviews tend to add another dimension to the guests we don't get to see often, it's a testament to how well produced it is!
David Beckham is so humble. I love him!
Sean Evans.. probably the best chat show host of modern times. This should be main stream available to all.
It literally is
The fact that Sean and Co are able to have such creative freedom is one of the reasons they remain successful.
They’ve pretty much stayed true to the original recipe… get them on some network and they would try to “improve” the set, etc. and likely ruin the whole show.
Only Keanu Reeves to go now :0)...surely you must be pressuring him?
And Tom Cruise
@@Sarasherred would be pretty funny if they had a stunt double in for Tom. Even if it was just a joke at first. The one thing he doesn't do himself.
@@landonfolken03 🤣
@@SarasherredHe’s good mates with David, so maybe he can convince him
@@JimN109 here’s hoping!
This is one of my favorite episodes of Hot Ones! David Beckham is such a kind person and has such a calming presence. He’s also a great conversationalist and storyteller. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I met David Beckham and he is the nicest, kind, most humble person 😊
I’ve heard of people who hosted the beckhams many times when they came here in Whistler, Vancouver BC. They said only good things about David but Victoria was a little different lol
Im from the US and not a soccer fan. He seems great to me. I wonder why all the negative comments?
This was such a relaxing one to watch, he seems very genuine.
Great video! Great interview! David ❤
David is so down to earth and humble! What a sweet guy. I loved him reminiscing about meeting Victoria, so cute.
"just be careful around the eyes; that's the worst place you can go"
"The worst place?" LOL
I am always surprised at how down to earth and just chill Beckham is. There is absolutely no high-strung about him. Not much of a FOOTBALL fan, but I've always enjoyed watching Beckham in interviews and such. Just a chill funny guy, you'd wan to hang out with.
Did anyone notice how tidy he is? Brushing off the crumbs off the table and folding his napkin every couple of minutes. This aligns with his impeccably organized closet he showed on the BECKHAM docuseries. Dream man ❤
Yeah it’s called OCD.
Beckham seems to be a lovely man, sweet soul. Thank you for having him on the show. ❤
