He is turning all opinions about Ohio State qb's by himself, and that isn't a small thing. Looking at where both teams are at now, it is mind-boggling that they lost to the Panthers. Seeing this team respond to him is amazing. Talent multipliers at an early stage are easy to spot, and he is a talent multiplier.

What they said! But I like CJ also because he has confidence in his passing game, not having to rely on running the ball. Many QB's, who run extremely well and get all the accolades for being a dual threat QB, don't always last a long time in the NFL. We know CJ can run as he proved that against Georgia last year. By choosing to pass first, gives CJ laser focus eyes on the field to go through his progressions, then make the decision to pass, scramble then pass, or if he has a lane, then run. Running as a last option is the smartest option for not getting injured. The best thing that could have happened to CJ is not having a healthy OL and a disappointing running game, which allowed CJ more pressure to pass the ball, which has forced him to get better and sooner. His timing and accuracy is making career seasons of most, if not all of the wide receivers. It's scary to think that he is going to get better.

Some sports talk hosts say Houston should spent big to sign a #1 wr in free agency. I disagree. While it's nice to have a security blanket who gets open every down, this kind of player tends to be prima donna who demands the ball. This will cause Stroud's best attribute, the ability to diagnose defense quickly and attack the weak spot, to atrophe, not to mention disharmony in the receivers room. Houston should emulate the Patriots roster construction back when they had Brady.

Not having a good QB can make a good team look bad, physically and emotionally. You insert a dog in CJ and those players have hope and now can show their potential. Any defense will look bad if your QB keep going 3 and out. CJ just have that it factor, and he's a good kid even if you don't love him you can't hate him either.
