For every Bengals or Bucks or Steelers game where the Texans were projected to lose and came out on top there were games the Texans should’ve won that they didn’t win. Namely the first Colts game, The Falcons game and the Panthers game(where they got their first of their 2 wins the whole season). The Jets game was a complete debacle where he may or may not have been playing hurt before getting concussed and missing the next 2 games after. It was by no means an easy or flawless path to winning the division and getting a playoff win.
There won’t be a sophomore slump and here’s why: For those QBs that do have a slump, it’s because they found success doing something unique, and defenders hasn’t adjusted yet. CJ was successful because he was just a good quarterback, no extra fluff. He can read a full field, throw any ball, read defenders, adjust oline. If a defense can read that, then they’re just a good defense

Stroud had no running game last year and bad offensive line. This will give him more freedom to not have to throw every play. His offensive line was beat up and now has a better overall team. No one expected the Texans to be good last year. This year they are a real team.
