  • Today I share with you my 7 tips for safely increasing your static breath hold. Having a good breath hold is important for for surviving and confidence when surfing big waves. Your breath hold is something that can be trained, no matter what your current maximum breath hold time is.
    Breath hold training can be dangerous if done incorrectly, so if you follow these tips you will be able to dramatically increase your breath hold, as safely as possible.

    An old timer once told me that if i ever get caught in a huge set that i should breath out to get the carbon out that is taking room for good air to be stored before i take a big breath to go under again.
    Any truth to it or is he blowing smoke up my yeeehhaaa.

    is 20 too old to learn how to surf big waves?

      I’m 34 and started last year. Been about 40 times since last year and am able to ride 4-5 foot waves on the face etc. it’s never too late
