    I'm subbed to several car channels, the revival/will-it-run types. Yes, they do show their share of some auction/junkyard action, when and where they rescue the vehicle, etc.. What I like about Mr. Goodpliers is he shows mainly junkyard/estate sale/auction stuff. And it's not just cars. He's touring and showing agriculture machinery, farm items, vintage tools, construction/heavy equipment, and alot of yard art/automobile Americana. Some of us are restricted to staying at home indoors for our reasons, not able to get out and do this. Mr. Goodpliers takes us along, to these awesome places. He makes you feel invited and it's like your actually there, especially if ya got a giant flat screen. Kinda funny--when he opens the door of a junker and leans in to look with his camera, I've caught myself leaning in to look too, to my computer screen here!

    Old rusty farm hoard out in the country, soft snowy skies, train horn in the distance, what's not to love! Fascinating and dreamy!
    "What was the plan?"
    To hoard, conscious or not.

    Show a video of that car mover and for sure it has short forks on it . If the auction house doesn’t care about the dents , he sure doesn’t care, some of the door mirrors are popped off too , just a typical salvage yard scrap metal mover . Those who arrive at his auctions aren’t surprised by it by now .

    On that 2nd generation Camaro, pretty much sure that it is a Z/28.
    All of the chrome trim around the front & rear windshields are painted flat black, plus the headlight surrounds are black over the chrome too. The fender gills are a giveaway too, so I'm pretty sure that you called that one correct. 😉 Good job! 👍

    "Haste makes waist" The outfit that handled the preparation work for the auction should have taken more time moving the vehicles. I don't know, maybe it doesn't matter, but why not be a little more careful.

    • @brucekoster9253
      @brucekoster9253 3 года назад +1

      I'm sure some of them sustained a little damaged getting staged for the auction but most likely the majority of the vehicles were like that when the auction company 1st saw them. That could be part of the reason some of them wound up here....just a guess.

    I could spend a month going through that building and salvaging everything, Clean it up and start reselling it I’m one of those people that will take one of those TVs and clean it up and sell it lol. But that’s a classic case of extreme hoarding, a guy that had quite a bit of money and had some serious emotional issues and he just kept buying and buying trying to fill that hole.

    I live in Arizona, but I've spent a fair amount of time in the rural Midwest, specifically Nebraska. I have noticed that, the farther you get from places where stuff is manufactured [cities], the more value people place on used manufactured goods. How many hoarders of "stuff" have you come across? People who fill up all the outbuildings with everything from '49 Chevy pickups to non-working aluminum pressure cookers missing the gasket?

      Unfortunately these cars have crank operated vent windows. In my experience, GM door latches refuse to open due to rust. Realistically, removing the windshield, climbing in, removing the door panel, and lubing/working the latch parts from inside the door has proven to be my best means of getting the doors opening and closing again.

    I suppose that you put new tires on everything that is going to roll away or other but to me, seeing tires that were pull offs and lots of tread, not compromised by weather, must be period correct tires for some of the cars that you guys put together... reason for saying was seeing the coats tire machine next to the forklift that was a hand operated one that you made mention that you were interested in. If I had a boat load of money, I would of bid on everything there as a unit and just sorted it out. I would of had the money for crews to go through and dig it out and those guys would of came in, swapped clothing for work costumes so they didn't help themselves to the antique tools, and just hordes of old stuff worth saving yet. I am sure when I was through that there would of been a shortage of shop vacuums. At least filters for them as there are more seat fibers in the buildings out of the cars and packed in by packrats or some way of making trash.. that was a guess anyhow. I see close to a half million in stuff but you would have to work for it. The owner wasted many millions on that place it looks like as he bought sold or stold anything that caught his eye. I was in kansas in the eighties and my father in law had a chevy truck setting there that I liked real well as it was a five window and not a scratch or other in it. Asked him why it was there and he said: It ran out of gas or the pump quit and there was a new one setting at the dealers for eleven hundred dollars with a tank of gas in it so I bought it instead. Just like that with no raise in voice or other so asked him would he sell it and his words were "I will pay you to take it" so I hauled it back to washington state on a u-haul trailer behind our truck. I had it a week and just barely got into looking it over.when a fellow stops and asks how much an I told him I just got it from my dad so he says sentimental hu? Will five thousand get you past that. I said show me the money! I thought about going back as there were a lot more of them and getting a few of them but never did. I did tell the wifes dad about it and he told me he could fill semi's with them for days so come and get em and oh I did want to for sure.
