Have you seen the Bubble top he started with ? Peiced it together it's pretty nice . I used to wonder the same thing , but with a little ingenuity and hard work anything is possible ....
I was born in 61 and always wanted a 61 Chevy Impala but I would have settled with a Chevy Belair but now do to my health I guess that dream is just a dream. I’m disabled now so I would have to buy one already done or would settle with a terrible one if it was drivable but can’t afford anything anymore thanks the the Medicare system. But love watching you save these cars I take my hat off to you sir. Thank you for the videos.
Kudos to Mortske. Every day he gets up, takes care of Duff, grabs the pan, hikes to the mine, opens up the sluice gate, and starts sifting. Some days a big nugget shows up, some days it’s just a few pebbles…but you gotta admit, he puts in the time and effort. You can bet someone will want some of those body panels, parts, and trim. Thanks for a Friday episode…and Duff!
Oh man, I absolutely love the 57. That car looks like it has some stories to tell. Hopefully that car never gets restored back to original... He has some cool stuff. I do like bubbles, but I really like the gold Bel-Air. Meatballs with gravy, spuds and creamed corn. Doesn't get much better than that.
Thanks Mortske, you bit off more than you can chew there, I mean the free lunch, that's nice! I really like the 2 door 61s and they're both worth saving!
I had a '61 , right hand drive 4 door here in New Zealand in the late '70s, early '80s. 283, Powerglide 2 speed, wish I still had it. I bet there are lot guys saying, "I wish I still had that"
Two more for the stable/lot. Even though the post needs floors I think it’s a better looking car. I know, I know three tail lights is better than two. But the post is cool! Thanks for the content & good luck with sales!
Nice little day trip , There was some nice items in the Not For Sale section , so you went to the back row and picked up a couple of Chevies !! Good to see Duff Dog , being a perfect gentleman and taking care of the business while you were away . See you on Monday , Stuart in Canada ..
I really liked this video. Quickie adventure rescuing some great cars. Positive honest and thorough look at the parts and evaluation of what your selling. And offering really good prices. You know I like you, your crew, and pals. The short videos great to see when I don't have time always interesting regulars. Kind regards, Blaine Halley Santa Cruz, CA 😎
Bubble tops are Boss daddy. My buddy had a very decent 61, early seventies, also a V8 3 spd. Got the built small block and 4 spd., from his 56 sedan delivery. Probably his best bang gears build. Speak kindly of the dead! 2 door post is very kool too (now!) Luv,,Dubs😅
Love the content! It's time to break up the will it runs with a full bubble top or other cool car build. Perhaps do one long term build while doing all the will it runs and update us with small clips of footage until you get part one of a long form video.
Good morning from Cape Cod ⛵ All my childhood memories involved Impalas. My grandfather had driven nothing but Impalas. I wasn't born yet but he had a 59, 60, he skipped 61 and had a 62 then got a 63 and a 64. He had both the 63 and 64 through my childhood banned in 75 my grandmother wrecked the 63. Replace with a 75 Impala custom. Yes The Glass House 😂 the 63 had a 283 automatic by my grandmother drove daily, it had roof racks and we go to the beach and fishing and clamming. The 64 was a 409 and a 4-speed, not an SS. In 79 to 64 was becoming two problematic to keep on the road and replace it with a 79 C10. To celebrate my birth my grandfather gave my mother a 64 Impala SS convertible with a 409 and a 4-speed, brand new. Yeah I suppose I love Impalas ❤️ I had a 64 for a minute and flipped it, it was really cool but I stood to gain quite a bit of profit. Anyway I enjoy all your videos and shenanigans Mortske ✌️🇺🇲
Your friend has some cool stuff in the storage. Old MCcormic tractor in the background? I'm sure the guy who pulled the IH knew what he was doing. The sight itself was worth driving that far. I believe the flattop rear glass is probably hard to get? Cool parts cars but one issue is finding more part donors to get them all running.
My mom had a 62 Bel Aire, she learned to drive on it. Different body style, i know, but in the same genre (john ra) for the fancy people out there. It was a 4 door 3 speed, my dad drove it and wrecked the clutch (before they got married) and being teenagers at the time, they didnt know how to repair it, so it got sold.....anywho. Thanks for sharing, Mort! Cool haul! 👍
Best tail lights of the 60's in my opinion... They went through several versions in the 60's and in 69' they kinda brought the round tail lights back.. My dad bought a brand new 69' Impala 2 door with a 327 & a p.g. Years later I bought a 72 Nova with an inline 6 with 44000 miles on it ... I bought the old Impala from my dad , yanked the 327 & rebuilt it with some go faster parts & dropped it in my Nova with a 4 speed stick... My dad lost sleep because I pulled a perfectly good 6 banger outta that Nova...lol. My dad also had a 69 Impala wagon with a 327 ... I also bought it for the motor to drop in another project ... The good old days ...
That 61 bubble top looks sweet just the way it is. When I was in high school, the kids out of Guadalupe would be swarming all over a car with little pieces of sandpaper wet sanding all the nicks down to bare metal and it looked just like that.
Didn't look at the length of the video was expecting to sit down for 2 hours and enjoy a show lol but hey 18 min is fine to I'll take what I can get! Lol thanks mortske
That first gen Cougar on the edge of the concrete is a wonderful project. Only Ford product I like. I would ( and have many years ago) slap a Big Block Chevy engine and a power glide in it just for kicks.
1:14, maybe Duff can get a job at Dollar General, lol But I thought they were going bankrupt. 7:26, you gotta love the old school Farm Repairs. Considering the overall condition of these cars, the one having a title definitely adds value.
61 Chevys were so interesting with the bubbletop Bel Airs and the 2dr sedan Impalas, but I never have owned one. Back in the mid 80s I looked at a 61 Impala 4dr ht for 1500 dollars that was supposed to be a real SS with a 409 it was rust free with a few small dents ,bad int and had a bad rod knock but had all the SS EQUIP. In my infinite wisdom I informed the seller that they didn,t make 4dr SS cars or 409S IN 61 AND We were working on 60 and 63 Impalas at the time So we passed it up only to discover they made SS cars in any IMPALA that year and they made the 409 also. I wonder still if that was the deal of my life I passed on or if it was too good to be true ps we still have the 60 and the 63 impalas
My Dream Video is See Mortske and Sir Puddintang Team up and build one BITCHIN 61 Chevy post Car, I think it would be Epic I mean puddin is still working on your fancy Suits at the Puddintang Hotel, two great Car Minds working together HELL YEAH 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

What and why the junk?
because some people like the old stuff that can be restored instead of your prius

@@PhillipWilliamson-sp5ct not everyone can buy a car at barret johson price an the others would much rather build it themselves for many reasons
One man’s junk is another man’s treasure. I’m sure that the price of certain parts on those things are valuable to folks who restore them.
