I'm a us navy cold war and Vietnam veteran. Yours is the only video that depicts something about the cold war that alot of people are not even aware of.
i like how you watch them and we can see what they sold for.thanks
Awesome Stang Auction & Buick . 😎👍🇨🇦
Racing stripes on the Mustang floor mats is an extra 5 horsepower right there.
Best car there is the '59 DeSoto & it's a 2dr. ( super rare )
Mr GoodPliers you R the best cameraman out there
The Ford 50 year anniversary horn button was for the last year of the flat head in the F1 truck. I restored a 53 F1 and got lucky the truck had the original button and it had the costume cab package.
Great video.
I have a '53 F1 with the Custom Cab package. It has a 5.8w HO engine and C6 transmission with a '58 station wagon rear differential. Disc brakes at the front wheels. 16x8 Magnum 500 wheels. Truck is black exterior with red/gray interior.
Thanks for sharing.
when i was a wee lad, i would look at the rear light cover to get the year of manufacture
LoL yes that was. always the give away
this guys voice is awesome. you hear every word clear as day. good vid. liked it
I agree, nice voice, knows his car info
Love all the old mustangs..
Hey Mr. Goodplliers. I like the buy you got. That buick looks like it will take some work. But it will be nice once it is completed. Also, I remember eating those MRE's in the Marine Corps. I liked those better than those MRE things. Thanks a lot for showing us this auction. Take care sir
Thank you for stopping by the channel, James! It was fun to go to a Ford auction and load a Buick
64 was last straight axle, 65 had twin i-beam! in the ford trucks
4x4 super duty Ford trucks have straight front axle housings even now in 2021.

One of my favorite cars are the mach ones, buddy of mine had one in high school it was bad ass, I’m definitely a fan of them. My first car was a 74 Montego 2 door 351 Windsor, bought it from a farmer down the road had 60,000 miles on it, it was super fast and a good looking car, had a mean looking front end and like a Torino rear end
5200.00 for a barn-find WL engine w/ no paper is ridiculous.....
They both really wanted it bad... I don't think logic was a part of the equation, just emotion.
The market is heated up on everything now.
That blew my mind. When I was in the eighth grade, we made a bomb and put it on the tranny hump of a 57 Ford at my buddies Grandpa's junkyard. We got a lot of attention that day. LOL....none of it good. But it was that color too. I mean before the fire..
Peace.
Police rims are slotted for cooling like mag wheels, those holes in the hubcaps also act as deer whistles if you've ever hear them. Take them off and then you won't have the whistle going down the highway. Just a cool fyi. I had a police 78 Monaco 440 hp as well
That is an A-38 package if it had the code & the "Special Handling" tag. Look for the rear sway bar, torque boxes, all the coolers...rear door lock pins would have reinforcement plates
i will never understand the mentality of hording something until it rust into the ground or you die (which ever comes first). I watched 3 fast back 68 and 69 mustangs a 68 Road Runner a 70 Cuda and a pair of Falcons set in a field and rust away to nothing , they sat there from the time I was just a teen until I was 55 years old, the guy died and they drug them away
It certainly was an excellent video, I remember most of them mustangs, 59 galaxies, 66/7 Fords, unfortunately you've spent to much time on them Chysler cars, other than that, is what nice to these old cars n trucks.
1955 Ford isn't a shoe box Ford. 1948 to 52 or so was the shoe box Fords. FYI
'49-'51 were labeled as "Shoebox" cars because of their all smooth sides.
A few things I would have jumped on including the Harley Engine.
Going to loving garages.
Shoe comic? That was Groucho Marx and the TV show was "You Bet Your Life". Groucho was one of the very famous Marx brothers comic group who started in vaudeville and later did many famous movies. The craziest was called "Duck Soup".
352 had what we called Mail Box rocker covers, as well as the 1/4 acre intake manifolds. the 332 was a narrower block.
i like the 410
Karrie Falon Johnson, 332-428 engines are all FE blocks. 332 block is no narrower than the 428 block. www.diyford.com/ford-fe-engines-the-complete-history/
Karrie Falon Johnson, WRONG much? Try again. itstillruns.com/history-ford-fe-motor-6376605.html
The way the world is going you should have bought all the survival gear and food packages !!
The motorcycle motor is a Harley Flathead. 45" and 74" don't command this type of money so its probably an 80". Out of a VL. 1935.
BINGO
I think you were thinking of Groucho Marx and the show was You Bet Your Life. It was sponsored by DeSoto.
I always wonder why people call Rust patina, rust is rust & most of these cars are rust buckets.
"Patina" is the fancy new name for "hopeless rust bucket".
anotherrrrrrr gooddd videooooooooo
Nice Buick n I have a 1940
The motorcycle engine looks a 45" Harley WLA.
flathead hd for sure
Looks like a 1948 INDIAN Motor.
Wow not one car thire I even think about putting the time or money into and that unreal because I love this kind of suff ...I have redone a lot of cars and a lot of them are just parts cars ...shame some if it was 10 year ago but wow are they beat down ...
First time I have heard of a Corduroy tire. Neat relic... Where was it made?
Grand Rapids, Michigan
Did you tell your buddy Crazy D about the Case tractor?
I wish I not only knew about this auction, but also lived reasonably close to it. I would have been a player on a few of those Mustangs. Are you selling any of those cans of Survival Biscuits??? I'm kinda interested in one that you showed at the 40:50 mark with the Melrose Park Illinois stamp on the bottom.
Are you Insane Joe buying a Buick with all the cool fords there?
What did you call that Mopar rim ? I remember seeing them on Challengers
Those are the police package wheels. Taxi cab piece also. Vents for brake cooling. "Dog dish" wheel covers were those small ones that resemble a dog's bowl. The 69' 1/2 year A-12 six pack cars may have had the vented wheels too.
looked like a 45 cubic inch Harley flathead engine
What'd the cop car go for??
I think around $600. The frame was rusted completely out of it, so it was a parts car
Did you get a car or truck?
I bought the tire pile. My friend Joe bought the Buick fastback
Thank you so very much my friend.
I hope you get something
I’ll buy that motorcycle front rim and those chopper forks if you buy them I’ll buy them from you
All the motorcycle parts brought big bucks. I did not bid on any of them.
@ 24:29 itsa Harley v twin Flathead
Ford at 5.10 is not a shoebox, just sayin'
Hi friend.
Hello David! Thanks for stopping by the channel!
Aren't all mustangs eventually abandoned
Quickly steal all of them!
What a shame to have let them car's rust away nothing there is worth over 4 grand let alone 9 lol
🤔😐😥😥😥😥
It's not a shoebox mustang listen to how you,, turned it off right then I can't listen to you no more all respect,.. you wouldn't even born your throwing like your Jimmy Carter the president
Bunch of junk
That was alot of $ for the red slow front mustang
Took me a minute but I get the joke... slow front (cue muted trumpet)
@@mr.goodpliers6988
I should introduce myself, I'm kinda the anti-ford.
@@tuck6464 You must be a Chevturd or a Mopass? Which one?
@@sergeantmasson3669
Correct
Sadly nearly all those cars are too far gone or will require significant amounts of Money put into them to ever be Roadworthy Again..If only the Auction was 10 years previously 😧
I would have LOVED to be at this sale! What a goldmine of great stuff. The 66 mustang would be cool done as a ratty build for sure. The 65 mustang fastback I would get the mechanics going and drive as body is. DeSoto caught my eye. $5200 for the cycle engine! Must be a Harley for that money. Joe’s old Buick looks nice. Thanks Mr Goodpliers for another exciting auction video.
There is nothing cool about Patina. There are some good restoration projects with potential.
Exactly, it's called rust or oxidation
The Buick is a wonderful find, but I thought you fell in love 65 Galaxy. I did.
Oh I was in love before the sale. I already have a 65 Galaxie two door. Factory black but has been repainted Sunlight Yellow
motorcycle engine is a 45 harley flathead
Military?
Also......in 1945 were the Police and Military given the same engine? I realize the intake filtration system would be different on military for desert purposes etc....I'm asking about the head...block... and all Internals.
No worries if no answer... thanks
CHEERS
God BLESS y'all
45 cubic inch.
@@Gerk8
Ahhh...I knew they had a 45ci ....but my brain wanted it to be the year...lol
Thank you
Should be Mustang "Herd" Hoard, ......just sayin'.....
I can remember most of those cars when they were brand new. Seeing them in that condition makes me feel old and sad, glad you got the Buick wish you got the other as well. 👍❤🇺🇸
Alcolics amymous
Seems like yesterday...sigh.
I also remember most of these cars brand new and I agree it's so sad to see some of these classics in the condition they are..
I found a 65 mustang in a barn a couple months back. She runs and drives and will be for sale at the end of month. No rust SD car!
Did you sell the Mustang?
@@koshvorlon8132 no we haven't yet.. you can find it listed on market place under my name.
@@kimjaniszeski498 I tried, but it won't let me search further than 500 Km from where I live.
@@koshvorlon8132 I sent a pm on fb
Some will say the wood from the trees they cut down is worth way more than those cars lol
With the cost of lumber it will probably twice as much.
The old Harley Davidson engine is a flathead. Hard to tell what year as Harley started using them in the late 20's. The 3 wheeled servi-car was built into the mid 70's and used this engine. Through time I believe they built 45 inch displacement, 61 inch, 74 inch and even 80 inch flatheads in the 30's. My grandpop used to brag about riding them and Indians which also used Flathead engines. I always enjoy these videos, thank you for your efforts.
What is so special about that tire rim that made the people cheer when they saw it? The rim with slots around the rim?
Chevrolet pickup Artillery wheel. That 15 was used from 1937 to 1940. From 1941 to 1946 the truck Artillery wheels were 16 inch.
@@dogandballproductionsgoodb7215 Thanks for the info. Now I know.
Hey Mr. Goodpliers, you forgot the rest of your tires! Lol! 😜 great video thanks!
A bunch of rusted out more doors ,the only worthwhile car is the 66 fastback. Restoring the others is a waste of time and money unless they have some kind of connection like it was your dads. IMHO.
These old hoarders need to know this is what happens to their treasures once they die. Its sad someones passion just gets dumped by the family. I know its not for everyone but still.
“Resale red” I believe that is paint code “$”!
Yes, I am familiar with that shade. It's a retrofit optional color LOL
I remember the 1964 Mustang being advertised new, on billboards, when I was in my teens, selling for $2399.00 New...
Watching you and Joe in the tire pile was fun. That artillery was a good find... holy grail Chevrolet part at a Ford sale, go figure.
The Desoto is Easter egg pink. My father has a 58 Firesweep convertible in the same color, with the 350 big block, and California emissions, including air pump.
'58 there was no such thing as CA emissions.
@@sergeantmasson3669 with a road draft tube crankcase vent like they used the more it belched into the atmosphere the better!
@@Mr39036ce NO emission rules in CA for 1958. 1966 was the first year.
@@sergeantmasson3669 and no 350. Might have been a 341 baby hemi. Plymouth got the 350 I think. Chryslers went right to the RB 383 & 413. There were both lol & hi block 383's. Early on. DeSoto may have had the 350 but all I remember we're the A based 325's.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DeSoto_Firesweep
The 1959 DeSoto is actually the cheaper FIRESWEEP 2-Door Sportsman (production 5,481 units). The Firesweep used the shorter 122 inch Dodge chassis with shorter front fenders (A-pillar to front axle). The Firedome used the longer 126 inch Chrysler chassis (longer front fenders) and had the Firedome script on the front fenders while there is no Firesweep script on the front fenders. Standard engine in the Firesweep was the 361 V-8 2-BBL 295 Horsepower but bigger engines were available. The Fireflite also used the longer 126 inch wheelbase and had a large round medallion above the dip in the trim on the rear quarters. Sportsman indicated hardtop (no post) which also included 4-door hardtops.
The Civil Defense rations were neat. Duck and cover, then snack away!
I believe it's an Indian v twin , great video , love that 59 Chrysler !
Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars, trucks and busses including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing petrol stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.
Cool car. Thanks for taking me along. I'm not very good at auctions, I need to go to more to learn how they work.
How much for the Buick
Cheap auction prices
another load of rusty scrap iron.....call the crusher
That buick looks about the same year as a friends grandfather had in the 70s and 80s. He was a plumber and made his own exhaust from copper tubing.
Safety bumpers - they had nickname of '5 mile/hr bumper'. Theory u could hit something going 5mph & no damage - bumper shocks would absorb it.
Super charged Strait Eight ohv. Something to see. Lots of cool cars. Guy knew what he was collecting. Thanks for video.
I used to own a '59 Galaxie, white over tangerine, 4-door. Had the 352 engine that would really hang on the interstate. Wish I could find another one but time is against me now as I'm 76 so all I can do is dream....and remember. What did it go for?
I bought it I think I paid 300-400 for it. It's the second 59 4 door I bought. A couple months after this auction I bought another 59 2 door.
@@chasemassey194 Congrats. The 59 Galaxie is the one I would've been bidding on.
I owned a 69 Mustang GT that is not a GT it des not have a gt on the gas cap ,it has a gt in the grille whitch mine did not have

Very nice pick! I love it! Also super cool patina!
Man, I like your videos, but your voice puts people to sleep.
How the hell does anyone know how much they are bidding?
Where can we get information about upcoming auctions like these....Love to attend one
Most of them are listed online now, by region or state. We also like to find certain local auctioneers and check their websites every month or so.
Probably a 390 in that Galaxy
Most all cars rot in generally all the same places
Love this Buick I just leased a new one lol
Call sleeperdude for the fairmont rims…
What did the Desoto bring?

Wow, loooots of selection here!
God I love that 59ford
