- Welcome to French Lake Autoparts in Annandale Minnesota. Also known as Junkyard USA! They have around 100 acres of Classic Cars. There has to be over a thousand cars in this Salvage Yard. It's a huge Junk Yard. One of the Biggest Junkyards in America. I always enjoy getting some quiet time out here surrounded by a hundred years of Classic Cars. This place is special to me. To me this is like going to my very own Classic Car Show! I can picture them the way they used to be and the way they should be.

Such a fantastic view of a classic car “museum” of wrecked classics. The variety & “space” music allows the viewer to get into a trance of the past workmanship & details of these “works of metal art.” Thanks so much Matt for enduring the cold conditions for us to enjoy at home. 👍😎⭐️🔥✌️🍀
Great walk, thanks to share.
To the owners of this yard,
Thank u so much for seeing history, instead of scrap $.
Your singing is great. I like your style Brother. Thanks for the great content. ....AWESOME DUDE
Thanks man. 😎👍
Makes a man cry to see how far his life has passed when you go through a Junk Yard. Makes me cry.
Me too
Don’t worry though, on the brighter side there are so many of us younger car enthusiasts that now know of this place, me personally this is close by and I didn’t even know, I’m about to get a job and once I do it’s time to start saving and putting back on the road of these old cars, I will always love old cars!
The atmospheric music playing in the backdrop is a nice surreal touch.
That 64 Chevy is either a BelAir or a Biscayne. The Impala had 3 lights on each side, whereas the BelAir and Biscayne only had 2 lights on each side.
What a treasure trove.

One man Junks is another man Treasures.
Awesome video.... There is nothing like American cars from 50 and 60's... true works of art.. tell my kids all the time.. drive one of these classics and you will get more head turns than anything out there today.. 1958 Buick Roadmaster...imagine most chrome on a car ever. True classics.. Thanks for the video Matt..
May they all rest in peace.
French lake auto salvage has to be the cleanest neatest most organized yard anywhere 👍wish it was closer maybe a road trip in the future
You bet, it's a long drive, 4.5 hrs from me, the drive is worth it, though!
Looking at all those old cars looked so Erie. Remnants of the past .
Enjoyed the video and commentary. Thanks for sharing !
Thx! 😎👍
I don't know about the biggest but I do know that is the most organized and cleanest yard I had ever seen. Thank god I do not live close to that or I would have never ending projects and even more pissed off neighbors. Thanks for the video true eye candy.
Hey Matt thanks for the excellent tour of the salvage yard as like yourself love all the real old stuff as got real style, and especially when you showed the 56 60 Chevys as got a few, but like so many others there as project heaven.
Cheers and thank again.
It amazing classic video
Hello from the mountains of WNC. I think that is the neatest, most organized junk yard I have ever seen ! Thanks for showing it to us.
Matt very good wrecking yard. And yes lots of classics waiting for new life maybe. Thank you Matt!
C'était vraiment de très belles voitures avec beaucoup de classe c'est pas comme celle d'aujourd'hui qui sont tout en plastique bravo pour ta vidéo superbe j'adore les voitures américaines👏👏👏👍👍❤❤❤❤🚘
Wow!!!
All the decent 2 doors are long gone. Great yard for parts though.
Every car got a story to be told of its history
Been going there for 65 years. Skip has really organized the yard. Was more fun when it was disorganized. Never knew when a treasure would be around the next bend.
Such an amazing place!
@@MattsRadShow hey good morning, I seen you at french lake if I call with a specific car do you think they would be able to give me the info on it, I seen it in the video you did on Nov 20 thanks for the info.
@@garydavis9283 They might be able too. It's a really well organized lot. Just need to contact them and ask. www.frenchlakeautoparts.com/
@@MattsRadShow hey thanks I talked to them, if your there often would you be able to take some pictures for me and I'll send you number to you so you can send them thanks if you do.
It's easier to find specific parts, when you don't have a lot of time to roam around. That's probably why Skip started sorting through all the vehicles. It's easier for inventory too! Bob, must be one of the lucky ones, that lives close by! 🤗 Awesome 👌 Lucky guy!!!
Some.good.parts.cars.❤❤❤❤❤❤
I love Ford "Edsel". If I only could I would take them all and and bring them back to the road. Some people say they are ugly, but as I said, I love them.
He has to have a barn full of the good one's.
I think they look nice, I wish I could walk through junkyard’s and see the old cars. Their so cool, thank you for sharing.
Nice junk yard. Would love to see that place. I could use some packard parts.
That was only unique to the Kaisers.
Hey thank you so much for walking me through that yard....sitting here doing my duty LOL. Really enjoyed it ....when you get old it it takes time to finish your business so again thank you so much man... a great video.... very relaxing and entertaining.
Cheers
God bless you all
It's so sad to see all those cars and trucks just sitting there . I wish they could be all safed . That when cars were made and had style character. Thank you for filming yards like this. I wish I had junk yards were I lived like this. I would live in a place like that Thank you and keep filming yards like this👍
You bet, I remember, when I was younger, I could tell you what kind of car it was..
just by the headlights and the taillights! Now, they all look too similar. I guess time and retooling is expensive! At least I had experienced those days. Nice tour of the yard, and excellent descriptions of the vehicles! Hats off to Matt! Keep smiling 😃 😉 enjoyed the video immensely! Have a wonderful weekend!
why save them? biden and his climate alarmists are dismantling the fossil fuel industry before having a sound and realistic replacement plan.
I’ve bought parts online from these guys! They’re fair and ship fast!
I agree this is a car show. thanks for the video
The fact that Kaiser is in a junkyard is unreal. At 40 years of going to car shows, I've seen 2 Kaisers, 1 Frazer and 1 Henry J
Very good vido tranks!!!
Great fun. When I was a kid, I used to get off the school bus at our local AMC / Jeep dealer and take the new Pacers that came in from the factory and dealer prep them / wash them. Hard to believe that was in the mid 1970's .
Thank you for sharing your automotive adventurers.
very nice video, thank you!!!!!
Thank you for this video Matt!
Interesting, maybe I'll take a drive over that way and check it out sometime. Might have to wait for spring.
Amazing how clean and organized the yard is. Looks like customers are not allowed to pull parts.
Yes they can.
And #s on cars
Very organized
#'s on cars = inventory control, Yeah!!
This is a great yard and the owner is a great guy. They've helped me out with several hard to find parts for various cars that I've owned over the years.
At 8:34 in your video you showed a Buick HEARSE . Doesn't look to bad of condition, for a HEARSE. I had a 66 Bonneville Hearse Ambulance and I got so annoyed when people would say,oh you own a HEARST , that I put a sign in my window saying that there is NO T in HEARSE. I'll have to plan my vacation out there one year. Great video.
Dude... Eat a snicker bar.
@@suewatson1912 I don't like Snikers. People just need to pronunciate correctly. Still a great video.
Amazing place , your video as well , music , a dream place , thanks a lot mate !!!!
Very cool, always enjoy doing that!!!! Yes, the CHEVY II was nice ......... 😉
Nice. That's 2 votes. Lol
Thank you! I like it. I like that in the USA antique cars save and keep because in the Russia where I live antique cars go to the furnace. In Russia you find something like that never.
Nice clean and organize yard I love it I wish to be there so my older boy is crazy about antic car 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
there is an other classic car junkyard in MN. called Windy Hill Auto Parts in New London. little bit different than French Lake but worth to check out😉
Nice. Thanks! 😎👍
Thanks for the old salvage yard videos. Hopefully someone will find use for some of them. Hate to see them rusting away but its better than the millions that have been crushed. Just love old cars.
Good one. The coolest & most organized Old Car Yard. 😎👍🇨🇦
OMG that place is unreal i would love to spend a day or two in there but its a long way from home here in little old England!
Not.complicated.like.todays.cars.australia❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I think if I won the Powerball I would buy the whole lot and give them away to people who would promise to restore them. 🤔
As a true, TRUE car guy..who wishes he could save them all, I really appreciate you doing these videos. SOOOO sad to see these, savable cars out there. All it ever takes is the all mighty dollar, a vision and skill to bring one back. It's never, NEVER impossible to piece one back together. What is wrong with people...We are the problem sad to say.
a lot of these could be restored, great!
Man it makes me sad to see all of those just sitting there rotting away I got a big heart for classic cars they my favorite type of car and I’d do anything I could to save em someone pls come get a car outta there and save it before it’s to late
They don't crush anything old.
Thanks in a million. Great content. Awesome. Grade: A++💥
great documtary..love the gray day, the music you chose, and the lifeless big yellow tractor moving by. well done
I want to restore every one of those. They all need saving, everything deserves a second chance
A verry clean car yards🇵🇷🦎 P.R.
I feel old … these cars when I was young .. we’re running around in town when I was young ! Christmas packages kids smiling …good times… now ..
Memories are something choking you..
Cool junkyard.
Thanks for the update on this yard, I have an el camino that is there 😀 I gotta get to it soon! I saw it on this video!
Very awesome video. Being from New England, I haven't see cars like these in junk yards since the late '70's, early 80's.
In fact the cars in that junk yard now are in better shape than the ones I used to see in the junk yard when I was in high school in the late '70's.
So much great Hot Rod potential in that yard.
Thank you for sharing Matt.
Thanks for the tour.It seems these places are getting hard to find.
Love your commentary during the video... maybe you should bring Wilson along with you LOL
That yellow Studebaker Silver Hawk caught my eye, I used to have a 58. But I love Buicks, all of them. And I love those Oldsmobile tornados, and basically all big cars lol
The junkyard has to be the neatest and most organized junkyard I've ever seen in my life, it's mind-boggling how many cars they have there
The longer number is probably the yards stock number.
1950S Chevy panel deliveries, Studabaker pickups, and retired school busses all in one place, you must have landed in heaven! BTW, school busses are retired early to protect the kids so chances are, they all run great and one other thing. When that big oak tree falls on your 100K class A motorhome, you die. When it falls on your "Schooly," (the best choice for a camper conversion) the built-in roll cage will protect you and your family. Just one of the many reasons I want a yellow 40-foot diesel pusher!
Re use it, awesome scrap yard 👌 so much stuff funny seeing the small Spitfire still got my 1974 Mk 4 it was crap but fun, I did fit 😁in very cosy one day electrify it high volts and fast this time 😀 😄 #buzzofftoxic
Lol. That's awesome. 😎👍
I like your singing🎉😂 great song; I'd like to learn it😮
That music in back ground gets ya, if them babies could talk it would be great, I’m from uk and to get to walk a yard like that is a dream, keep them coming thanks.
Why do you say Edsel was one of Fords biggest Blunder's? I owned three and loved them over any of my G. M. cars. I wish I had one now. That and a 1957 Mercury Monterey. I loved those cars and traveled everywhere in them.
Been going there for years. It used to be less organized, and honestly more fun to explore. It is still good, but not what it once was. I have bought a ton of parts from there over the last couple o decades.
I recall pulling a mid 70's VW bus Westfalia interior while looking at TWO Graham Shark noses parked in the same line. Yes, that happened.
Nice job Matt you just walked and filmed a 100 acre salvage yard of hopes and dreams to come and those that are gone, i bought a 39 Buick Century coupe , 53 Pontiac Sedan delivery , 61 Pontiac Catalina 2 door hardtop and 56 Chevy Bel Air 2 door hardtop from Floyd and Skip through many years of walking the yard . the first time i was in awe, should of packed a lunch from then on out i'd stop at a cafe for breakfast on the way to FLAP sometimes with the guys we made a day out of the adventure. One thing if you think you seen it all the 1st time the next time some cars leave and others arrive for many reasons lost interest health reasons or widows selling their husband treasures. Hat's Off to Skip Your yard never look so Great large effort to accomplish that from the days of when the Ponies roaming the yard and you got your share of stickers to take off
Running back and forth, decade after decade; so much is passing away. How many gallons of gas, antifreeze, oil etc. represented here. It isn't until a way of life is near to ending, do we get the feeling time travel. Strange feeling. My 1rst car was a 67 Mustang Coupe, 289 baby blue color, used it casy me $600 dollars. All it needed was a new paint job, and the plugs wires oil filter in put in/on it. Thanks for the video.👍
Love junkyards 🇬🇧🧐🥇especially American Cars N Trucks 🛻
Watching this video was a lot of fun, I saw a lot of cars that I would love to restore, I wish I lived closer.🙂🚗
wished i lived longer
Awesome video 👍 best to you and yours and Happy Thanksgiving!
Thanks! Happy Thanksgiving man! 😎👍🍗
Cuanta historia en este yonke, How much history in that Yonke, greetings 🖐🏽😎🇲🇽
Would like to have seen more of the blue 1st gen Monte carlo
Loved those kaisers!!!! What a fun trip!
Yeah those were cool to see. Be fun to incorporate one of those windshields I to a build!
nice clean yard. lots of builders there!!!
Oh my man. What an explore! Every car has a memory. You did them all justice. Such a perfectly organized ‘junk’ yard. … Matt - were many original engines in there, or all stripped? … Love your work, sir. A haunting and amazing explore. Thankyou
Thanks! I think most engines were gone.
Thanks for the video, I came across your channel. I think it was great, nice job. It's probably the best junkyard I've ever seen. Some of the cars have a lot of potential. And some cars just parts.
I love your passion for old cars. I wish more people them. Love your videos. Always wondered if you have a special car of your own. You love them all but just wondering
Bob Owens salvage near Wellington, Texas is a treasure.
that Imperial would make a great demo derby car cause they are supposed to have double front frames for extra strength.
Those Kaisers....!!
Watching this from uk. . I can only hope someone saves something. If 1 car is saved then it was a result mate 👌 thanks for the awesome video
Great video, Matt. Thanks for spending a little time with the 50s Packards. One of my favorites.
Thanks! Me too.
Mat, You have the absolute best videos out there bro. Your knowledge of the cars, your calm manner. The best package out there. Thanks from cold and snowy Canada!
Thanks man! 😎👍
Great vid so cool to see these amazing cars. Would buy most of those if I had the time and money! We don’t have stuff like this in the UK thanks for sharing ✌️
These are my favorite vlogs of yours, and the restaurant ones, and the car show ones, and the destination vlogs, and the Wally ones........ 😆
Lol. Thanks man. Appreciate it. 😎👊
Wow! Thank you for sharing
The Henry J's had a pointed center at the top of the REAL window also !
I think also made by Kaiser !
Great vid..but where were the Cadillacs ? I bought a steering knuckle support from them and they sent it to me still attached to the complete brake/drum assembly.
Score.
Loved the video, but would have liked to have seen more interior shots as well.
idk why but i just love your channel, man
Thanks man. Glad ur enjoying it.😎👊
@@MattsRadShow absolutely love your videos going to duluth and the north shrore videos along with any of the haunt stuff, im on tour nowsoi have been watching them as i get home sick and miss minnesota
That old green flatbed truck with torn out interior looked like it could be out of a zombie/ horror movie set. So interesting. Thank you Matt for sharing. Happy Thanksgiving! Blessings - Judith 🎵🎭
Yeah. Would be a good setting for a zombie flick. Lol
Love those old Packards and chryslers
